Kala is professional, efficient, and made me feel 100% comfortable. You need to specify the areas and amount of pressure, and she's willing to change course during the service if it's too much. The only caveat is the schedule booking further out because it's her business. Which people will simply have to deal with, because it is what it is. She's not an octopus. She doesn't morph into multiple Kala's. I will say that if you're unfamiliar with Thai massage, it can be rather firm. I took a hot shower and slept like a baby after getting home. Kala is very nice, calm, professional, and have strong hands. The massage was fantastic. Deep tissue, fought through all the stressful lumps, felt like dropped 10lbs off of my shoulders afterwards. I got introduced to Thai massages during my first of 7 trips to Thailand. I have had some Americanized versions in the states by both (farang & Thais) that wasn't even close & some good-great ones in areas w/ a large Thai community like in Los Angles, CA. I found the techniques of Kala reminiscent of being in Thailand. Think of it as "lazy person's yoga" for those unaware. Great combination of deep tissue, passive stretching, & joint re-alignment techniques. Perfect amount of pressure & time digging into tight muscles w/o me tapping out or crying Uncle. I have been extremely cautious during Covid and have not ventured out much, but my chronic back pain pushed me out of my comfort zone to get a massage. I've tried to schedule with Kala before via text. She is very responsive but the timing never worked out until now. She was able to get me in the same week for a 2 hour massage. The location is in the basement of her home. Google maps got me there with no issues and the neighborhood looked very welcoming. There was a separate driveway to the back of the house that was easy to find with a sign of her business at the door, so it didn't look or feel shady. I pulled in and she was standing at the door wearing a mask to greet me before I even got out of my car. I walked in and it was set up like I was walking into a spa business and not someone's basement. Very peaceful, low lit but enough lighting to fill out the 1 double sided sheet with all of my information. She led me to the room that had a larger than average massage table (very comfortable) and there was a Thai massage bed that was set up on the other side of the room (I wasn't on that). She is a very petite woman but her technique is fluid, intentional and best of all, firm (which I asked for to work my tight back). Her sheet draping was very professional (which was very much appreciated especially at the end when she was stretching me) and her use of hot towels felt amazing! I absolutely would recommend going to Kala. It was the most relaxing, sometimes painful (but in a much needed deep tissue massage kinda way), and professional massage I've had in awhile. Her prices are fair and I enjoy supporting small, women owned businesses. You won't regret seeing her. read more

My husband found her and had been a few times and said how good she was. He was like I know you like the fancy ones but this one is legit. No slipper and brownies at the end fancy lol. When I arrived the location is clean and peaceful. She was very accommodating and listen to me as far as what I needed. She's a really sweet lady! I went here for the first time few months ago for the first time. She's great, her massages was firm enough to my liking. Always asking if it's too much pressure. Has warm towns on hand, options to use oil or lotion. She does listen to your concerns and what places you need more attention on. This location is in a friendly neighborhood and is in a home. Massage is taken place in the basement but no worries. The basement looks exactly like how it would in most professional massage places. I've only done a massage with her once but never got a chance to come back because of work. She does have specific scheduling and does promptly reply back through text.
