Yum! Great omakase experience. Everything tasted really fresh and was beautifully, simply prepared. The quality and amount of food was also excellent for what it costs. I definitely recommend this place.

A great Omikase experience! Affordable, and not too adventurous with the offerings, so welcome to anyone. The sushi counter can probably fit around 10, but they don't make you wait for everyone else not in your party which is great. Theres some theatrics, light music, and warm ambiance. The food is so fresh and tasty, unique in flavor, and reasonably priced. There's classic fish, and some less common but still delish. There's also the option to add in at the end if you're still hungry. Our favorites were the smoked king salmon, the mackerel, the Wagyu, and the hand roll. It's BYOB so be sure to come prepared.

As a frequenter of omakase, this place was such a great experience. They do a good job being different while still sticking to the traditional omakase way. Went here on a Saturday evening with some friends with a reservation. We stopped by a liquor store nearby to pick up sake. Upon entering, you could hang your coat on a coat rack, hang your bags under the table where you sit, and the seats were kinda close together but still comfortable. I handed the bag of sake to one of the servers and they were kind enough to start pouring. They did a GREAT job and keeping it flowing prior to the omakase getting served haha We got the 15 course with the starter as a delicious soup to warm the body which hit the spot. All the pieces were so excellent but ones to highlight are the black cod, Hokkaido scallop, fatty tuna with ONI ON TOP, fatty tuna with caviar, and Wagyu a5 beef with foie grae on top (THE ENDER).

$75 Omakase, BYOB with no corkage fee, wonderful presentation with exciting flares and touches! Even the plates and bowls omakase is served upon are beautiful and add to the experience. Omakase at Kaki is an under-stated and over-delivered experience. The venue is a simple but beautiful sushi bar without too much extra decor or pizzaz, and the chefs are quiet and subdued, but the plates and presentations of the omakase dishes will WOW you. Each dish is a rich and balanced experience on its own, served on a gorgeous plate or platter. One of the courses even included a flaming presentation!

The fire show was really cool, and the food exceeded my expectations. I'm looking forward to our next meeting.

An affordable spot for omakase featuring unique appetizers and fresh nigiri -- I really enjoyed my experience here, would totally come back for the $75 for 15 courses. I loved that there was a good mix of raw fish and torched bites. It had a mix of more traditional nigiri and fun bites. The chef was really great and the staff was friendly and attentive. I'll definitely be back!

We came here for my friends birthday and it was a lot of fun! We did the omakase experience that included unlimited sake. The sake options were really good and overall, the sushi was fresh and had great flavor. It's a smaller store so feels more intimate.

Everything was fantastic from start to finish! Lovely experience. Very reasonably priced omakase that is excellent quality. Will be back soon!

My partner and I decided to give Kaki a try as we were in the mood to try a new Omekase spot and it looked like a great value... $75 for 15 courses and sake included (also BYOB - which many folks took advantage of). The space itself has the suchi bar + some additional tables (if you can get a seat at the bar - do it). I do not want to spoil all of the fun with detailing the courses, but overall, it was some of the thicker cuts of fish we've had from an omekase experience - all fresh and paired really well with light sauces and accoutaments (there was a Spanish Mackerel with roasted garlic that was divine). We even ended up ordering the eel a la carte (which you couldn't go wrong with anything on that menu). The service was incredibly friendly, attentive, and fast - always ensuring our water and sake glasses were full. The one area of improvement Id recommend is the rice - it was inconsistent and potentially could've used more vinegar. Either way, the fish was definitely the star in each course! We left feeling full and satisfied, and would definitely return in the future!

I love kaki! It is one of my favorite BYOB omakases in the LES. Definitely worth the value. The servers also include free sake

Wow. Kaki is what you'd imagine an omakase would be like in Japan. 15 course for $75. The most interactive omakase I've ever been to. Fish were tender and fresh but the vibe is why I would come back again. The chefs were super nice. The waitress poured us rounds after rounds of FREE sake. Not sure if it's something they do all the time but my friend and I went at 6:30pm and there were only 6 of us total at the restaurant. She brought out 3 different alcoholic drinks and was constantly refilling everyone's sake cup! We also took shots with the waitress and chef (very common in Japan) a must try in NYC 13/10 experience. Wow.

I came here with my friend on a Wednesday night. Neither of us had ever had omakase before, but we had been recommended to come here and try it. We had about 15 courses, mostly sushi. We really enjoyed everything; my favorite was the scallop sushi with truffle. The chefs make everything right in front of you and tell you what each piece is as it's served. The restaurant is BYOB, but we did try their house sake and it was wonderful. Our only complaint was that we felt it was a bit rushed. We were in and out in about an hour and 15 minutes, which for a multi-course dinner like this, felt a bit fast.

Went for omakase. Great value for money, flavors were awesome. Service was friendly. Restaurant was cute

The atmosphere here was a bit more lively and crowded compared to the more relaxed vibe of the UWS spot. I enjoyed my meal even more this time around. I started with the beet salad, which was delicious and offered great value given the generous portion size. it featured sliced beets, arugula, goat cheese, and walnuts. I also had my eye on the hijiki soybean salad--which is a bit smaller and reportedly homemade--so I may try that next time, along with the warm mushroom salad which looked very tasty. The edamame was standard but served as a nice starter. For my main rolls, I chose the salmon avocado and the yellowtail scallion. Both were very fresh and definitely worth ordering again. The salmon avocado roll had a nice touch of sesame seeds on the rice, while the yellowtail scallion was prepared with the seaweed on the outside. My boyfriend's sushi entree looked excellent, so I am considering that or the sushi-sashimi combo for my next visit. The entrees provide a substantial amount of food, and I especially appreciate that they allow you to choose which roll comes with your meal.

They share a takeout menu and it's super easy to order--text what you want to the phone number on the website and pickup in ~20 minutes :). You pay on a handheld and they don't ask for tip for takeout. I love this process and truly wish more sushi restaurants in LA adopt the takeout box. The only one I know of is hefty but also $200 each lol, making Sanyuu's $69 omakase and $78 Everything don, not to mention the $30 giant salmon nigiri set, A STEAL! I enjoyed most of the pieces but I will say I don't like their amaebi or uni at all. I'm not sure what kind of uni is used here but it's the type with a very strong mineral flavor & aftertaste that I don't find enjoyable. We're spoiled by easy access to live spot prawns everywhere and fresh SB uni. Despite this, I wouldn't hesitate to come back if I lived in the city.

The slices aren't thin, delicate, and melt-in-your-mouth as one usually gets in a sit down; they are extra thick, and I had to really bite down on some of the pieces. The rice was nicely seasoned and was cooked well + portions are also big to match those thiccccc salmon slices. To be honest, I was getting a little nauseated after 5 pieces, haha~ They were definitely delicious but I'd probably just eat 3 or 4 pieces and share with a friend! It was easy to text the number on the website and coordinate a pickup time, and the staff was friendly when I arrived. The restaurant is a little hard to find as the windows are blinded and the sign is a piece of paper on the door.
