My kids love going here even though they aren't adventurous with flavors. BUT I finally tried their ice cream cake. You can order online if you want specific flavors and they usually have premade ones if you just walk in. I walked in and just ordered in person. It was a Just-Because-I-Want-It cake disguised as a belated birthday cake (which it was, but I got it because I wanted to try it). I got a 6" cake with taro and milk tea flavors inside and it came with two small cones of ice cream on top (I chose soursop and red bean for those). It is not what I expected. It is almost all ice cream with a very thin whipped cream type "frosting" on the outside - and sprinkles! - that made it look like a normal cake until you cut into it. No layer of actual flour-based cake inside. It's solid ice cream. Since it's perfectly sweet, it worked great! Also excellent for those who may have a wheat allergy (unless you get the cookie flavors) so now I'm considering one for my kid with food allergies (but not to milk). The details are what makes this place stand out. If you buy multiple drinks, they place your order in an adorable, reusable purple bag. Also, there is a rewards program. So if you're an avid boba drinker, make sure you sign up. Every few orders you can score a free bite to eat or bubble tea. It was kind of priced a little bit out of my budget today, and I instead got the gourmet chocolate cupcake. I also ordered a homemade iced tea to go with the cupcake, and they both were very delicious. The service was good and the person behind the counter helped me with a smile. This place is for sure not your typical cafe, and it's really geared for short stays. It's beautiful j side and I would definitely recommend it here whenever you are in the Edison or Metuchen area.

Kaito Tea is a fantastic bubble tea shop with 2 self-serve kiosks or super friendly staff to take your order. I ordered the mango green tea with 70% sugar, the beef bulgogi rice bowl, and a bubble waffle. The tea had a refreshing taste of mango, and the 70% sugar was perfect. The beef bulgogi rice bowl was delicious with generous portions of vegetables and meat, and the spicy mayo added a nice kick to the dish. I highly recommend Kaito Tea for anyone looking for a great bubble tea shop with fantastic rice bowls and desserts. The cozy ambiance of the shop makes for a pleasant experience, and I will definitely be returning to try their other offerings! read more
