My bestie and I had a moms night out dinner on a Monday night (5/25/26) and this was the perfect spot. The restaurant is moderately sized - best for small groups, but could accommodate one large group (maybe 10 people or so). The ambiance is best described as "dark" and "modern." The service was wonderful - at the time we went, only a couple people were working (basically one server and one chef) and the restaurant was about half full. Despite the amount of customers, they were still quick and friendly. The food was amazing! This was some of the most delicious sushi I've ever had. The menu was pretty expansive and offered some more creative items. We tried the seaweed salad, Kai Hotdog Rice Roll (friend gave this 5+ stars), Japanese Lasagna (I gave this 5 stars), and a couple other dishes that I can't currently recall. Everything we had was amazing and we finished it all. This is truly a hidden gem right off Water Street - believe all the 5-star reviews on here. Highly recommend for the food - They also offer take out orders. This place is best for date night, a friend date, and small groups. Probably not a good spot for littles that need a high chair - I don't recall seeing any, but I could be wrong because I didn't ask for one, as I didn't have my little guy with me.

5 stars without a doubt! This has become one of our favorite sushi spots and every time we go, the food is fresh, flavorful, and beautifully made. The triple garlic is mouthwatering, baked muscles *chefs kiss*, the service was great, and the atmosphere made for such an amazing dinner. The best part? My little food critic said, "This is the best sushi place ever," and honestly... we agree! We'll definitely keep coming back.

Came here with my abg thicc baddie for our anniversary. Very lowkey and charming environment with great fresh seafood. Our host Sean added to the experience with service and delicious recommendations like the SW roll and dry aged fish. We decided to try Kai based on the uni selection but unfortunately they were out. Id suggest to call ahead ensuring the items you want are in stock. Definitely recommend

A new hidden gem for date night! Couple notes from my perspective the aesthetic is a highlight, this is not a budget friendly place, not AYCE, but definitely getting what you pay for premium fresh fish and flavors! I got an SW roll and Shrimp fried rice Also they have AFOGATTO FOR DESSERT

AMAZING. everything here was better than i expected. me and my wife was blown away. we tried the hotdog sushi. yea as a hotdog fanatic, i love it

Came here with my beloved to celebrate our anniversary. So glad we found this hidden gem, as it's right down the street from us (usually prefer going to Chinatown but that was 30 mins away). This actually might be our new favorite spot!! Unfortunately they were out of uni & said it's best to call in for it b/c they usually run out of stock for it beginning of the month. A lot of the items I actually wanted to try were OOS too (such as the bluefin tuna uni carpaccio, Hokkaido scallop carpaccio, o-toro, & Japanese sea bream), which was a bit disappointing, but our server Sean was amazing, it made up for our experience! He suggested for us to try their dry aged fish special & it was actually pretty good! We got the Sima Aji which was surprisingly buttery. The miso seared Hokkaido scallop was good just as well. Ankimo was actually okay in my opinion, & tasted more on the fishier side. Overall was definitely a pleasant experience & highly recommend calling to check which items in stock before coming in. The tako wasabi was my favorite and the fact that they had an "award winning soju" at 23% alcohol was such a steal! Will definitely be coming back.

We found a hidden Gem in Henderson NV near Water St!!! Absolutely loved the food at Kai. The service was great and atmosphere was a vibe as well. We had the cherry blossom roll, California roll, SW roll, vegetable tempura and miso soup. if you're in the area or live in Henderson, definitely check out Kai

I was for a new sushi place and Kai Sushi ended exceeding my expectations. The nigiri and sushi rolls are INCREDIBLE!! The dry aged amber jack melted in my mouth and the rolls were so so good. Great atmosphere. Natalie was my waitress and she was so attentive and recommended great choices. 10 out of 10 experience and food. Couldn't recommend enough.

Yesterday was the second time eating here. Love it: Great food, great service. It's right around the corner from the Water Street.

I'm very picky and sensitive with seafood, but Kai Sushi truly impressed me with its freshness. If you want premium, fresh dry-aged sushi, this place is a must. The sushi was incredibly fresh, and trying dry-aged sushi for the first time--I loved the texture. And you have to get the uni here! So fresh ~ Every bite was heavenly and delicious. The spicy tuna roll was amazing, and the udon had a rich broth with perfectly chewy (쫀득) noodles. The karaage was crispy outside and juicy inside. You have to try their beer--the blue bottle pilsner (see photo). Easily the best pilsner I've ever had, and I heard it's ranked #1 in Japan. The house Sauvignon Blanc was also excellent. The service was great, and the atmosphere was lovely. I'll definitely be back to try more dishes.

Water Street has come such a long way and I'm happy that there are so many great spots with genuine people. Griff is awesome and so kind, he takes the time to talk with his guests and you feel like part of a club not just a customer. Besides the warm fuzzy feeling you get when visiting here, the beer, ciders and seltzers are SO GOOD! You get the best of both worlds here because I love ciders & seltzers and am not always in the mood for beer like my hubby is, so this is an awesome compromise spot for us to both enjoy a drink. Not to mention Griff always has some delicious concoction up his sleeve that you cannot deny if he offers b/c you'll most likely love it! They do not serve food here but you can order from neighboring restaurants right from your phone and they deliver to your seat! Johnny Mac's is right next door and I highly recommend giving them a try if you haven't already! I first heard about this place after reading about it in LV Weekly, the feature talked about it being Vegas' only "cidery" which immediately caught my attention. We have tried so many breweries around town and honestly Mojave continues to be on the top of our list. I personally love the Watermelon Sugar High Seltzer (literally tastes like a mimosa with very little juice, which is how I like it) and I really enjoy the Ready Lager One beer, it's made for easy drinking. If you are in the Henderson area, please check it out! You won't be disappointed! Plus they offer flights so you can try a few and then commit to a pint (that's what I usually do)

We ordered cocktails from a very limited menu. Our waiter wasn't sure how to make the lemon drop martini on the menu but said he'd try to follow the recipe. We asked for Grey Goose but watched him pour shelf vodka. Drinks were served after the appetizers arrived even though they were ordered first. We started with oysters. Waiter said they only had two kinds tonight so we ordered 6 of each. He set them down and left to get tobasco we requested. When he returned we asked which were which he said "we only had one kind so they're all the same." I feel he should have told us before serving them since they were $4 each! I ordered coippino which at $46 was expensive but I wanted a treat. Hubby ordered large clam chowder in bread bowl and Caesar salad. Cioppino lists first ingredient as crab. What I was served had no crab, 2 overcooked shrimp and rubbery calamari. The sauce was flavorful but so disappointing otherwise. I asked about the crab and was told "no crab" and I was offered additional scallops as compensation. He brought three small scallops on a plate. Hubby was served two small bread bowls of chowder with the explanation of "we are out of large bowls". Again, it should have been discussed prior to serving that there was a substitution. Who wants two big loaves of bread bowl??? The salad adequate-- a big bowl of romaine with croutons with a side of dressing. All in all not worth the over $150 it cost. Not in the least! And they charge an extra 3% if you use a credit card. We will not be back.
