    Chile verde plate
    Angelica G.

Came on a Sunday for lunch and although there was only one other table sat, I'm so glad that we stayed. We ordered the chili Verde plate that comes with rice and beans and it was absolutely delicious. It taste like my mom's cooking they give you fresh chips and delicious salsa. They have beer if you would like an alcoholic beverage, and they are working on their full liquor license. I cannot wait to come back and try their other dishes, the food is absolutely amazing!

This restaurant may be small but the food was definitely mighty. My husband, kiddos and I walked over from the Fullerton train station and were pleasantly surprised to find such amazing food. The meals we tried were the pollo burrito, asada burrito, bean and cheese burrito, asada tacos and the asada fries. Everything tasted so fresh and well seasoned. When we arrived it was pretty quiet and empty but it was also a weird time between lunch and dinner. The server was on point and amazingly attentive. We will definitely come back to Kalhos next time we are in Fullerton.

KMK was a great relief to find after a few failed attempts to have dinner in Anaheim. All we were seeking was some great home style Mexican food with a relaxed environment. The interior of this restaurant is sparsely decorated and was nearly empty when we sat down to eat a late lunch. The menu is quite extensive, which made it quite difficult to choose what we wanted. Every dish reached out to be chosen like the kids in the playground wanting to be picked for the basketball team. Since one of my all time favorite meats is Buche I had to stay loyal and ordered two Buche tacos and two carnitas sopes just to make sure my tank was full. They didn't have aguas frescas so we stuck to water but a nice beer would have been had if I wasn't on the clock. While I waited for my food I tried out the two salsas that were placed before me and I had to try them out. They were both equally spicy and tasty. I also chilled to the Mexican oldies but goodies that brought back memories of family parties and long cruises on the Main Street of small town USA. The music was just loud enough to be enjoyed and draw you in for a bit of restaurant karaoke. Our food arrived and it looked like Xmas in April without the credit card debt. I started with the Buche tacos that came with onions, Buche, rice and some nice Rajas! Ajua! The tacos were flavorful, heart warming and large enough for an XL hunger. The sopes were asking to be bath in the salsa and I cut into them like a birthday cake from years past. These two reminded me of simple homemade goodness that made me appreciate this experience and the existence of KMK! I'm going back to have the costillas with nopales and the green enchiladas and probably everything else. If you're looking for a simple restaurant with some just great food KMK is your PTB. Enjoy!

Excellent quesadillas! Giant, with TONS of cheese. We got a cheese and a veggie, where the latter comes with onions and green peppers. Also tasty hibiscus juice. Great service.

This place was the bomb! We came here craving Mexican food and it surely delivered. It wasn't packed at all and the place was nicely decorated. We ordered at the front and sat down. The food came pretty quickly in my opinion and it smelled amazing! I ordered the carnitas quesotaco (no picture) and it was amazing! The only problem I had, was that the whole menu is in Spanish and I don't read Spanish so I used google translate to help me. But if you know Spanish, I don't think it will be a problem to you. Overall an amazing place and I would HIGHLY recommend. P.S: I was with my family when I came so the pictures is their food.

The flavors were great it tasted like home cooking the only issue is the food portions are small there then that this place was authentic. I was also happy they had fideo soup and even happier they had sopes. They had a fan in there which made it cool in there they also had tvs. Parking lot is small.

Yummy!!!!!!!!!! I loved the decor, the customer service, and the plating of the food. I would definitely come back here and bring friends for a fun night out, or during the day time for brunch. Me and my sister were really craving chips and salsa today & they definitely delivered :-)))) So close by to me too so definitely will be stopping by asap.

This place is sooo good!! it's some of the best Mexican food I've had in a while, taste authentic and they have friendly service. The girl at the register was very helpful. Will definitely be back again to try other items on the menu

Came here last night and purchased 3 cups of vodka with pineapple juice which cost $43.38. My sister purchased 1 cup of the exact same vodka with pineapple juice and was charged $8.50. For some reason I was charged $14.46 per cup and she was charged $8.50 per cup of the exact same thing. Definitely won't be returning

Let me tell you why I keep coming back here…read more It's not just the beer, although Bootleggers has plenty of that. It's the patio. There's something about the outdoor space here that makes Bootleggers feel like a little beer oasis tucked just far enough away from the hustle of downtown Fullerton. There are plenty of covered tables, lots of shade, and a large, permanently covered section with a giant TV showing sports and other important television events. When they have live music, it's usually the kind that actually improves the atmosphere rather than taking it over, you know, good musicians, good music, but still chill enough that you can have a conversation. And, of course, there's the beer. They have a really solid and diverse selection, with several IPAs, stouts, seltzers, and other options usually available, plus a selection of beers from other local breweries. It's hard to imagine coming here and not finding something you like. If you can't you're just an openly hostile person. Consider meditation. There's a food truck parked along the side that has basically become part of the Bootleggers landscape. And while outside food is no longer allowed, that's not really a hardship because the food is actually pretty damn good. The sandwiches, salads, and other offerings are all solid, but the fried pickles are the real reason I keep coming back. They're cut lengthwise, breaded just right, and fried until they're perfectly crunchy. Basically big, tart, crunchy submarines of fair food fun. I have a difficult time going to Bootleggers without ordering them. Every. Single. It's close enough to downtown Fullerton to walk to, but just far enough off the beaten path that the patio feels removed from the usual bar scene chaos. The street is nearby, but you barely notice it. It's just a nice place to sit outside, drink a good beer, listen to some music, watch a game, and hang out for a while. Sometimes you don't need another crowded bar with loud music and a $16 cocktail. Sometimes you just want a good beer, some shade, and a plate of ridiculously good fried pickles. Bootleggers does that really well.

This is one of my favorite places to come in Fullerton with friends, or to bring my wife on a date…read more Their patio is dog friendly, which is nice for pet owners. Ambience on the inside as well as the outside are both pretty great. I've also never had a bad meal here, virtually all of their food is spectacular and made from scratch although their prices are not "cheap" they are also very fair, especially given the quality of food. The drinks are also dead on, they have a wide range of craft beer as well as a full bar. The service is great. The only thing I could think of the lands in the constructive arena is their live music. Sometimes they have open mic nights, other times they have a hired band or musician. The music is way, wayyy too loud. I don't mind live music, but it can't be so loud that you are unable to enjoy the company. Patrons should be able to talk to the person or the people next to them without being drowned out by the music. I recently came with friends for drinks and we were having a great time for the first 10 minutes we were there, but when the music started, we couldn't hear each other talk at all. So we just sat there quietly, drowned out to mediocre music. We all had another drink and then left. Might be a better idea to have the music loud enough to be slightly above background noise, but low enough where you can reasonably talk and listen to those around. Even ordering at the bar was tough. We would yell an order at the bartender, who would yell at back for confirmation. Often, exchanges in this dialogue included "what was that?"

Pour Company has been one of my favorite restaurants for a long time. I typically dine here at…read moreleast once a week because the food is consistently delicious, and when I visit in the evenings and sit in Mario's section, the service is always exceptional. Unfortunately, my experiences during the day have been the complete opposite, and both involved the same server, Tania B. The first incident occurred when I ordered my usual meal: the Steak Frites, cooked medium rare with the mushroom peppercorn gravy. When my meal arrived without mushrooms, I politely mentioned that it normally comes with them. Rather than checking with the kitchen or simply explaining the dish, Tania immediately insisted that it had never included mushrooms. I even asked if the recipe had recently changed because I had been there the previous week and it was served with mushrooms. She walked away, returned with a menu, tossed it on the table, and said, "It doesn't say mushrooms." Her tone and attitude were unnecessarily dismissive and unprofessional. Ironically, when I returned another evening and ordered the exact same dish, it was served with mushrooms. Today (7/31/26), I returned for lunch and, unfortunately, Tania was my server again. I ordered the Steak Frites medium rare, but it arrived closer to medium-well or well done. I politely explained that it wasn't cooked as ordered. She took the plate back, returned a few minutes later, and told me, "That's how it's going to be. Take it or leave it. The chef is the owner, and that's his message." I mentioned that last time she told me it didn't come with mushrooms and clearly there's mushrooms on my dish. She responds with, well sometime it does and sometimes it doesn't. I'm like so inconsistency is a thing here? She replies with if that's how you want to see it. I asked if I could speak with the owner directly, and she responded that he was "too busy making food" and refused to let me speak with him. My friend and I paid for the rest of our meal and were preparing to leave when I noticed another employee in the kitchen. I asked if he was the owner, and he explained that he wasn't and that the owner was actually downstairs. I simply asked if I could have Nick's phone number or email so I could share my concerns. The employee kindly said he would see what he could do. While we waited, Tania approached us multiple times in a confrontational manner instead of allowing us to wait peacefully. Rather than focusing on the guests seated at her bar, she seemed more interested in arguing with customers who had legitimate concerns. Throughout both visits, she displayed poor customer service, responded with attitude when simple requests were made (even something as basic as asking for a side of ranch seemed to annoy her), dismissed concerns instead of trying to resolve them, and escalated situations that could have been handled professionally in less than a minute. What makes this especially disappointing is that the restaurant itself is excellent. The food is consistently great, and Mario provides some of the best service I've experienced anywhere. Unfortunately, one employee can dramatically impact an otherwise outstanding restaurant. If Tania is, in fact, a manager as I was told, it's concerning. A manager should be setting the standard for hospitality, resolving guest concerns professionally, and de-escalating situations--not arguing with customers or making them feel unwelcome. I truly hope ownership addresses this because Pour Company deserves better representation than what I experienced. I would love to continue supporting this restaurant, but I will be avoiding daytime visits as long as this level of service continues.

However, you don't always want to feel like you're trying too hard to change your scenery, bumping you too far out of your comfort zone. The answer my friends, is the good old classic American dive bar. Now, many places like to call themselves a dive bar just because they never clean a single inch of their establishment and have seedy patrons that love to play the more than occasional 80's songs on the jukebox but don't be mistaken, a good dive bar is hard to find. Well, I happen to have found one and it's in Fullerton of all places. That's right, Fullerton, not Los Angeles, nor Hollywood nor some pop-culturally over-hyped city. What makes The Blue Door a good dive bar? First, there's earned consistency & routine. The drinks won't always be made well, or the bartender won't always be attentive but if you come a few times, you'll soon know at what time and day the drinks are made properly by knowing the schedules of the bartenders. Secondly, the drinks are stiff, the service is friendly and nobody bothers you unless you bother them. The atmosphere goes from lively and loud to quiet and solitary, again depending upon when you visit. Lastly, they're open from 6:00AM-2:00AM. They're not just there when the hipsters are around, they're there for you whenever you make the bad decision of using alcohol as an anesthetic. Stay searching for the last remains of Americana my friends....
