Food was ok. Sat next to a full table of older people who complained about my two year old daughter the entire time- saying that babies shouldn't be allowed in restaurants. They talked about how they were "disciplined" when they were children, and how parents should hit their kids. Honestly, it was upsetting to hear. They ruined the experience and made my family feel so unwelcome. Staff was kind to us but it wasn't enough to remedy the situation. We won't be back. read more

What a nice spot to have breakfast, brunch and lunch. With NO DINE IN again because of the pandemic Kafe Royals has stepped up to the demand and converted there patio entrance in to outdoor seating. Tables and umbrellas with attentive service and good food. Tables for two, four and table that can seat about 6-8. We sat next to the water fountain. My recent two visits have proven to be far better than my first review here. Breakfast is still phenomenal! I have since had their Monte Cristo and on one rare unbelievable day they had a deep fried Monte Cristo. It was out of this world. The owner and his wife are so nice and friendly. Margie and Stephanie are your best waitresses. If you gave not gone here...go here. You won't by be disappointed. I hear he also makes special Steaks some days and other daily specials. Yelped a new location to try today and The Kafe Royale popped up near us. I ordered a Tri tip Benedict and my wife ordered a California Skillet with avocado on the side. It was our first time here, and our waitress, Margie, treated us like the favorite aunt in our life the first time she met us. She's a great server. If I owned my own restaurant, I'd steal her and have her train new employees. The food was exactly what you expect from a small diner. Good breakfast with touches of homemade fixings. Margie brought us a sample of their gravy. It was awesome and obviously homemade. Most places use some generic canned gravy or recipe they found. I had a turkey melt with chili. The chili was exactly what I wanted, homemade and full of flavor. Considering we found this place on Yelp, and it is a few miles from our home, I wanted to give this place a try. We were given a gift card for Kafe Royale. We hadn't been there in many months mainly because of just forgetting it was there. Ordered a monte cristo sandwich and also a patty melt. I give it 3 stars because the service is great and it's a nice cozy place. The food, not so great. Went for breakfast and I always get the basics. Eggs, sausage, bacon, house potatoes, pancakes and coffee. If your basics aren't great, then there's no need to try anything else. Food was ok at best. At $15 not including tip, it's too pricey for average food. I have one rule, it has to be very good, or plentiful and neither was achieved here. read more

Their server Stephi was completely unhinged and hostile towards us on veterans Day and the owners are refusing to call me back or check the footage. I truly thought the waitress was going to try to hurt us in front of our kids. All because one of the guests at our table made a comment that we waited an hour and didn't even get water to drink. She called us liars and started screaming at us to leave when we said we wanted to cancel our order and go home since it had been an hour with no help. She then got in my friends face, put her hands in her face and used her body to try to intimate us. Many of the guests ( including my small children) were very uncomfortable and upset. Juan the owner is a nice guy, but the fact that he's ignoring my plea to speak with him or even tell me my side of the story or check the cameras as proof is really sad. I reached out to his daughter on Facebook and she said he would call me and I gave her my number, they have ignored this as well. Insisting we come back and just request a different server, not even asking what happened with the nut job waitress Stephi. I will not be back and spending money here after the way we're treated in this hostile experience and being ignored by the owner to make things right. Absolutely shocked and appalled, hurt and embarrassed to be treated that way. My friends drove an hour to meet me here for my birthday breakfast only to be treated with aggression and psychotic behavior by Stephi. Thanks for ruining that birthday for me. Shame on you Juan and Stephi, maybe get a job doing something else. read more

Came in this morning to meet some friends for a birthday breakfast. We were a little late and when we got there our friends had ordered so we decided as to not hold anyone up we would "keep it simple" we ordered a water and a coffee and a small side of biscuits and gravy. It took at least thirty minutes just to give our order to begin with our party all received their orders and ate before we even ordered drinks. We tried flagging the server down several times, it was busy in there and she seemed shorthanded which is why we were trying to be patient but when three other parties were seated and served drinks and their food began arriving we canceled our order and the server became irate. Most of our party had already left by this time and we didn't want to hold up the birthday girl for us. Anyway she got mad when I commented that we had waited an hour and had yet to receive even water and told us if we didn't like it we could leave! Well that's what we were trying to do and she just kept carrying on calling us liars and telling us to leave as we were already gathering our things and leaving. Way yo go on the customer service some people really hate their jobs! I hope the owner looks at the cameras. So sad. Food looked good otherwise. read more
