Shrimp, salad and lentil soup was all very good, but what ruined the dining experience for me was an old man (perhaps age 70 to 80) who was seated next to me and who COUGHED throughout the ENTIRE meal. Shockingly NO ONE said a word to this guy, who should have been escorted OUT for the health and safety of the rest of the customers. This place is very large and has a lot of seating. The menu is also very large and they have a variety of sandwiches, burgers, and pastas in addition to steaks. I got the filet with a side of beans and garlic mash. Steak was cooked perfectly. Oddly enough, the filet being wrapped in bacon did nothing for me. They put 3 heads of Romain lettuce in a box. NOTHING ELSE! She has to cut up her own lettuce and add toppings from our fridge. Nearly $50 for ALMOST salads. Sad to say this, but if you find this restaurant satisfactory, you've never been out of Yucaipa. ** EDIT ** Since I can't respond to the restaurants comment The steak portion was absolutely not 6oz!!! And for the price of A SALAD that has an additional fee for protein (again, almost $50 for two salads) there should be more protein. As far as toppings on the side. There were no toppings on the side!!! The lettuce wasn't even cut. They were literally heads of romaine!!!!! And while I'm at it... to go orders without napkins or silverware being offered either is sad! The quality of what we did have had potential if whomever made it and served it cared at all. Lastly the problem with saying address this immediately is, the food is packed, bagged and tied in knots so no one knows what they are getting until they get home. We had an exceptional dinner at Hickory Ranch! We arrived for our 5:00 PM reservation and were seated immediately. Our server was fantastic--friendly, knowledgeable, and offered great menu suggestions. We started with the tortilla soup, which arrived quickly and was perfectly hot. For the main course, we had the tacos, ribeye, and beef Wellington. The ribeye stole the show; it was tender, lean, and seasoned to perfection. The Wellington was equally delicious. We even received a tableside visit from the manager, Michele, who made us feel very welcome. Met with a group of 30 to celebrate a birthday. Warm greetings, good service. Drink and appetizers ordered ( my wife and I decided to have hors d'oeuvres as our main meal but we ordered a glass of house cab and a Tall blue moon. For our meal we had a house salad, garlic, Parmesan wings, steak tacos, and the Ahi poke tostadas. All the food had great flavor and was cook perfect for bar food. The one disappointment was the poke. Wonton chips with pickled veggies and a very very small portion of ahi. Not even one small square of fish per chip. Add to that, I had to ask for it 10-15 minutes after the rest of our food arrived. Greed exceeded common sense, as I should have just requested it be cancelled as the rest of the food had hit the spot but I didn't. The ahi poke turned out to be late and dissappointing. Bae and I came here for the first time to celebrate the New Year with friends, who highly recommended this restaurant. The place was packed and service was excellent. It's a large space and it's of course a western theme, which I love. The menu has a great price range and the drink menu is awesome. I had the Pomegranate Martini and the patty melt. I also had bites of the cheese curds appetizer which was so yummy. Oh, and the complementary sourdough rolls are so good! I really enjoyed everything and look forward to coming back to try the Beef Wellington and the mushroom appetizer! I live in L.A. and this was a real treat, as there's really nothing like this there. Hickory Ranch Steakhouse in Yucaipa has long been a favorite of ours. It's a family owned business and we like supporting local. Every time I go, I get the Mahi-Mahi Fish Tacos. I always request for mine to be grilled and blackened. So delicious. The order comes with three generously sized tacos. I eat one with a cup of soup and take the other two home for another meal. The tacos are so delicious that it's hard for me to try anything new. I love their clam chowder also which comes as a side. The last time we went, I opted for something different. I ordered the Beef Stroganoff and it was absolutely yummy! The portion was huge, so I ate my side cup of soup, a little of the Stroganoff and then took the rest home. We split the leftovers for lunch the next day, so technically I got three meals out of one. I would highly recommend the Beef Stroganoff. The meat was super tender, and the mushroom wine sauce was very flavorful. They also have the yummiest bread. I think it's either yeast rolls or some kind of sourdough. I'm not sure but they bring it when you first sit down and it's just awesome. I wasn't a fan of the garlic bread that came with the Beef Stroganoff. Next time, I'll just tell them to skip the bread so I don't waste it. Definitely check it out Hickory Ranch Steakhouse if you're in the area -it's so yummy. We have been coming here for three years. We've never had a bad meal. Every dish we've tried has been exceptional. From Sirloin with mashed potatoes, gravy and roasted corn, New York Strip with baked potato and vegetables to roast turkey with all the trimmings. The chefs are rockstars. Don't miss out on trying this place! We came in on a Saturday around 5pm for a late lunch or early dinner. It was not packed yet. But you may want to call to be sure if you have a time limit. When we walked in we were greeted by the hostesses. They immediately asked us how many were dining and a few minutes later someone came to seat us. They asked if we were ok sitting in the banquet room. We said sure since we didn't know what to expect. If you are looking for quiet, politely decline and they will seat you somewhere else. The banquet room is right by the bar and not quiet. There were large parties in there and it was just us as a party of 2. It was very load, but the staff did amazing! The server immediately came to ask us if we wanted drinks. We started with a pomegranate mule and a blueberry mule. They were delicious. Next we went for the onion blossom and the flavor was incredible. For our meals we ordered the filet medallions with garlic mashed potatoes and a side wedge salad. And a filet dinner with a baked potato and side salad. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted great. The highlight, besides the food was the staff. We were asked several times how we were doing by everyone. Even the guy who brought the food to the table had a sense of urgency and asked if we needed anything. And the bartenders too. For me, since I lived here in Yucaipa, Hickory Ranch has been my favorite steak restaurant. The food is super delicious, the service is always friendly, and the atmosphere is very cozy, perfect for any celebration or just to come and have a romantic dinner with your partner. It is preferable to make a reservation in advance or you can also order online, we have done it before and everything arrived very fresh and well packaged. The prices are very reasonable. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is average, if you sit at the bar, there is more noise of course. The menu is very extensive, both for food and drinks. On this occasion, we ordered the Greek salad, the Salmon with vegetables, and the filet mignon with vegetables, but everything is very delicious and exquisite, especially the bread they serve as a warm appetizer with delicious butter. They have a very large parking lot and are handicap accessible. The place is very clean and pleasant, as are the bathrooms. The service is very kind, friendly, and very attentive. She made sure to check on us even with a huge party of 15 people that she was serving. We are from the OC so this was a last minute stop on our way home from Oak Glen. The restaurant was filled with locals and the atmosphere in the restaurant was great. We also learned the restaurant is locally owned, so it was awesome to support small business owners.
