We were super pleased with our nice afternoon at Barnacles! We felt like grabbing some lunch and playing pool, and this place was on the list. It's tucked away in the same parking lot as an A&W (y'know...the rootbeer place). They have a pleasant outdoor patio and cool decorations. Parking seems pretty abundant. Inside is carpeted and comfy. The bartender was friendly and inviting. They have a few games besides pool - darts, a neat golf arcade game. The food was especially good, I usually have low expectations for bar food but the pretzels and beer cheese were SOOOO good and we got a turkey club which was their Saturday special. On the menu are burgers, sandwiches, grilled cheese, and more - along with tasty appetizers ranging from cheese curds to fried ravioli. I noticed the bar also had some candy and chips behind it. Their homemade potato chips are to die for. There's a wide variety of drinks and beer on tap. The pool table was great too (cash only to play). There is also an ATM inside. We felt comfortable, had fun, and look forward to coming back! read more

It was way cool. First time here and the bartender Alyssa was just radical. There was a bunch of people here so I had to wait just a minute but she handled my order and made a damn good drink. Barnacles is a cool environment for people that want to chill and laugh and have good time. I'll tell you something though, I'd be happy to take that bartender out for some ice cream one day. My wife and I stopped by Barnacles for the first time in many years. We came for Happy Hour and weren't disappointed! Heather, our bar tender, warmly greeted us as we entered. We were served immediately and had fantastic service throughout our visit. The fresh made popcorn is a MUST! It's served with freshly drawn butter on the side-to die for. We had the pleasure of meeting Taffy, the owner. She was just as kind and friendly as Heather. This place has the feel of a great neighborhood bar. Everyone knew each other and there was a positive vibe. 5 stars isn't enough for this place. read more

A friend kept telling me that I needed to stop in to have a "Mexican Candy" drink, so today, I did just that. I wasn't disappointed. My drink was delicious. I also tried some fried pickles and I wasn't disappointed. This place is what a person would call a "dive" bar. Perhaps 'cause it looks like a drinking den. Inside the bar is rather small to me, yet it looks bigger from the outside. They offer great snacks, drinks and provide a friendly atmosphere here. What seems to be a local favorite neighborhood bar, residents seem gather here to drink and socialize. Outside patio makes an alternative option for socializing here which is nice. Upkeep around the bar and it's perimeter looks well maintained. Parking is easy and there's plenty of it. Bathrooms were well stocked and well maintained. read more

Terrible service, only in that they didn't want to serve me because I didn't have my physical Drivers License, even though I had a picture of it, AND alternate forms of ID on me. I was here from another country vacationing in Big Bear. Anyway, we ended up eating at Freckles Kitchen & Tavern, great service there. read more

I'm not much of a "bar" person, but after stopping by for a fundraiser and meeting some of the regulars, I think I've found place I can enjoy. The vibe is really friendly, and the owner, Taffy, makes everyone feel at home. The food was great, and the prices were reasonable. My favorite local bar which is super friendly and doesn't have the bro feel of downtown Redlands. They are trying to bring more of a sports bar feel to it with the new ownership, but it still remains more of an upbeat dive bar with lots of tv's and live music some days, my kind of place. read more

A good dive bar in the heart of Mentone. Not too expensive for an ice cold beer or cocktail. It is a sports bar so there's always games on the TV's located throughout the bar. They also have a pool table, darts, jukebox, and live music on weekends. read more

Barnacles is by far my favorite place I have ever worked. I love my work family so very much and love our customers even more. I have worked here for about a year and a half and the changes we have made over that small amount of time are incredible. The food is consistently getting better (try the pretzels or philly cheese steak!!!! They're amazing), The drinks are strong and cheap, The owner is amazing and actually cares about her business and it's workers. I genuinely couldn't have asked for a better gig. You could smell the cigarette smoke before even walking in. After walking in, of course it was worse. It smelled ad if the bar was outside on a smoking patio. The lights are incredibly dim and I didn't find it welcoming in the least bit. Needless to say, I didn't stay for a drink so I can't comment on that :) read more

It's a dive bar but a really good one! The bartender with long black hair that's super skinny and pretty is really sweet! The second we walked in the door she greated us and was very attentive! The bathrooms are probably cleaner then the rest of the bar! I wish they had at least one more pool table. Shady people hang out at the liquor store next door so don't leave anything of value in your vehicle that is visible! read more

I came here with a friend and the service was the worst I have ever had at a bar. It smelled of smoke and the waitress was more interested in the men at the bar than those of us that wanted food. I waited so long for food I ended up asking for it to go. It's dark, divey, and noisy. I won't be back. read more

It is in Mentone so don't have high expectations. Food Is decent and as good as it will get for this area. It is a dive bar but drinks its pretty reasonable if you want to get a drink and not have to drive into Redlands for overpriced drinks. Good service. Only bad part is that the outdoor seating at night is smokey and very dim. read more
