Jeff hooked me up with a couple of new throttle bodies and he put the upgraded bushings in them. He sold me the rebuild kits, and two new idle jets, and let me know that the main jets were fine (He could have easily sold me things I didn't need). Jeff gave me technical support to help me get my Kadons rebuilt. The Dune Buggy runs great. This was my first carburetor rebuild, I usually just replace. 3.12.2023 I really wish I could make a more positive review here, please read my entire comments and GO THERE to try them out . They're moving to Temple City, Ca. (?) in Spring 2023 . So : I don't know the name of the older guy who wears horn rim glasses but every time he's at the counter he invents some lame dishonest excuse why he cant sell me what I need no matter what it is I want (spark plugs, door handles, gaskets etc.) . I'm a retired VW Mechanic and shop owner so I know when I'm getting hot air The most recent example was this : I needed a #120 main jet for a Standard Solex 30PICT-1 carby on a 1963 Bug with 40 horse engine . He B.S.'d me saying there were many different jets and he'd need to _SEE_ my old one before even trying to sell me one . That's a COMPLETE LIE and there's no way he didn't know what I wanted or needed a sample . I am a cash paying Customer and never, _EVER_ return parts so he can't complain I'm a difficult Customer . I'm told by the many local VW Hot Rodders he's tops in the Kadron business (Kadrons are Brazilian made copies of SOLEX carbys, made for dual carb. installation) . There's NO EXCUSE for this . I went to IPC 14222 Prairie Av. Hawthorne 90260 and as soon as I said "I need a #120 main jet" he pulled out a large box full and asked "? what size Sir ? I have many " . I hope Kaddie Shack does well in it's new Temple City location , please give them a try before you make up your mind . This place is a throwback to the day when auto parts places actually were run by folk who knew something about the stuff they sell. I've been buying parts and getting advice from them for the past five or so years, since the oldest boy decided he really liked the VW bug beater I'd got him to get around campus. Not withstanding he rolled the thing under tow, so it needed a body exchange and some engine work, then the usual replacement of brakes, head gaskets, carb, intake manifold, exhaust etc. These guys have always come through with the parts and have saved me quite a bit of time troubleshooting, since they really know the type I vehicles well indeed. We have yet had a chance to take the bug on one of the cruises that KaddieShack organizes, but one of these days... Anyway, a first rate outfit, highly recommended. read more

A rare auto parts (though limited to Vokswagen of yesteryear) where the employees really know their stuff and will go through great lengths to make sure you are taken care of and get the right parts. I haven't dealt with Kaddie Shack a lot, but the few times have been very pleasant and I left knowing that I was taken care of. When it comes to air cooled 'Dubs, if they don't have the part they will get it - generally by the following day. Can't beat that. read more

I bought a set of rebuilt Kadrons from Kaddie Shack and could not be happier with the performance. I have a 59 single cab with an otherwise stock 1600 motor. These carbs came ready to install and have improved my performance considerably. The engine starts easily, pulls great at low end and has the added the power I wanted to to be able to move in traffic comfortably. The Kaddie Shack has been my go-to shop for all my aircooled VW needs for years and I have trusted them with multiple high dollar builds without any hesitation at all. Their work is impeccable and the service on par with the best shops I have worked with in the exotic car world. With that said, I have seen the staff give the same level of attention and courtesy I get to someone coming in to buy a bushing or some other small part where the grand total of the parts came out to less than the cost of a cup of coffee but cost them an hour of their time. The guys have also done trackside support for me and I am very grateful to have the shop as a resource to fall back on when my enthusiasm for a project outstrips my talent with a wrench. These guys are Awesome! I bought a pair of custom Kadrons from them based off all the info I gave them about my current engine build. After bolting on my new shiny carbs(For real these things are beautiful!) they didn't run right. Being somewhat new to Dual Carbs, I called Jeff and I am confident the man would talk to me for 2 hours if that is what I needed to get my ride running smooth. He walked me carefully through the process step by step to get things synced. After swapping out for slightly smaller Idle jets she runs perfect.
