2024 dodge hornet gt

I just bought my 2024 Dodge Hornet GT and Seven made the whole process super easy. From day one she kept in touch with me, answering all my questions and helping me figure out my options without any pressure. She was patient, honest, and it genuinely felt like she was on my side the entire time--she made buying a car feel fun again. If you're going to Covina Kia, definitely ask for Seven. She's knowledgeable, communicative, and just really great to work with.

Remnants of the old paint protection film after they performed a "professional detail".

I bought a used car here around two years ago and my experience was consistent with the general reputation of used car dealerships. Car was in good shape when I test drove it but had some browning paint protection film that had been installed when it was new some ten years prior. They said that would be removed and some other service would be done before it would be purchased. I could tell the previous owner had taken good care of it and it was low miles for the age. At the time I was without a car and lived a long and expensive uber/lyft ride away so after inspecting the car I let them know I wanted an out the door price with financing before I would consider returning in person to the dealer. They went over a week without telling me the out the door numbers despite frequent calls and texts from them insisting I return to the dealer in person to work out the details. In the meantime they actually raised the listed price by over a thousand dollars on their website. I let them know I was only interested in the original price they listed (already kind of high but market appropriate) and after sending them screenshots of the price change online they relented. I think interest in the car had been limited outside of myself so they finally sent me an out the door breakdown with partial financing numbers to consider after I continually refused to just show up without seeing them first. I paid for an expensive hour plus long lyft ride to the dealership on a Friday evening after work. Very unusual for September there had been a large downpour so the car which was alleged to have been professionally detailed was unavoidably wet. It was said to have new tie rod ends and some other maintenance performed. After a bit of a wait in the office I saw that the actual terms in the paperwork were slightly different than what I had been sent (and previously agreed to) but I was there, desperately needed a car, and would have to spend another $70 or so to go home so I relented which I'm sure they anticipated. The carfax didn't have a great deal of documented service so they spent a significant amount of time trying to convince me I should get an expensive warranty and maintenance deal through this Kia dealership added to the financing (which was not a Kia). I knew a lot of shops that do all kinds of maintenance don't report to carfax so I didn't go for it and was finally able to get out of there without any more of their expensive and unjustified add ons. They were pretty shameless in their attempts to try and tell me the car was suddenly a ticking time bomb which I knew was not likely the case. When I went to the car to drive away a salesman removed a large sales sticker from the inside of the windshield which left a large rectangular mark, revealing that the windshield was tinted, something not previously disclosed or noted . A fully tinted windshield is illegal in California (only the top four to five inches of the windshield can have a slight tint). He apologized profusely and said they would schedule a time for the detailer to remove the tint (now severely damaged and unsightly from the dealer sticker) from the windshield in the next week. This of course never happened even after I inquired about it the following week when the same salesman emailed about whether I had any questions and if I would be kind enough to leave a google/yelp review. When the car properly dried over the course of the next few days I saw that the 'professional detail' done by the dealership (and added to the carfax hilariously) to remove the browned paint protection film was woefully incomplete and had left glue as well as large chunks of the old film all over the hood and front fascia of the car. This glue was not detectable right away given the rainstorm but soon accumulated unsightly dirt and road grime that stuck to it. I spent two weekends removing the rest of the old paint protection film and glue. I also learned the alignment was slightly off which was not the case when I test drove it and that they may have damaged one of the front struts when replacing the tie rod ends. I ended up taking care of all that and have done almost all of the maintenance myself since (including the removal of the cheap oil filter they installed). I never heard back about the illegally tinted windshield and ended up taking care of that myself. I have since driven the car over forty thousand miles and am happy with it but I attribute that with the research and inspection I had done on the individual car previously and not due to this dealership. I can't say I would recommend this place over any other used car dealership and definitely would not have any service or detailing done there.

Huge shout-out to Kevin Miller at Covina Valley Kia! I was having such a hard time saying goodbye to my SUV, but Kevin made the whole experience feel personal and positive. He took the time to really understand what I was looking for--not just in a car, but in something that fit my personality. He was super patient, thorough, and made sure every part of the process was clear and felt like the right financial decision for me. I didn't feel rushed or pressured--just supported. I drove away in a car I love, and it feels like me. If you're thinking about getting a new car, I highly recommend asking for Kevin. You won't regret it!

Love my new car! Thank you to Ernesto who really heard me and helped me so much to get a deal at the best possible rate. He was patient answered all my questions and really worked hard.

Within two weeks, the truck developed major issues: transmission leak, coolant/water pump failure, and ultimately needed a full transmission rebuild. Two separate Ford dealerships confirmed the transmission needed to be rebuilt. The truck sat unusable for over a month while the warranty company delayed and then denied coverage because of a lift kit that was already on the truck when the dealership sold it to me. That issue was never disclosed as something that could affect warranty coverage. Meanwhile, I was stuck paying diagnostic fees, truck payments, and eventually had to spend about $7,500 out of pocket to rebuild the transmission myself because nobody would take responsibility and the dealership stopped responding to my calls and emails. To make matters worse, Covina Volkswagen told me California lemon law "only applies to new cars," even though the truck was sold with a warranty. At this point I've filed complaints with the California BAR and Attorney General. I strongly recommend anyone considering buying from Covina Volkswagen do extensive research first and get EVERYTHING in writing.

To be very clear my 2 stars rating is solely based because one advisor by the name of Bradley Jackson. He was on point from the first time I called, first visit, and until things went downhill. (he wasn't working the day all this happened) I brought my vehicle in for mechanical repairs covered under my extended warranty. That was taken care of. I drove my car from their dealership to Pasadena, once there I got into my car after doing some shopping (1 hour after having my car back). My vehicle displayed a blinking check engine light color yellow, and it would not drive past 26 MPH. This happened around 3:30PM roughly 1 hour and 1/2 before Acura would close on a Saturday 12/27/2025. I contacted the dealer, they told me to bring it back, and that I should probably tow it to avoid getting stranded in the middle of the drive. I asked the service manager if he would reimburse me for towing my vehicle? The answer I was given is what corporate companies say. "If we check and it's not our fault we can't" I said fine, even though my car was last serviced by them and now it was acting up with issues. since I've had my car, I have never had issues (besides the required warranty work I brought it in for, which was a gasket oil leak. I was working with the warranty company to get it approved so they can replace parts) I drove 26 MPH on the slowest lane from Pasadena just so I can make sure I got to the dealership before they closed. When I got there, they took my car in, but I was also told they did not have any loaner cars available. (you are a dealership, but I guess this can happen) so, I didn't have a ride to use while my vehicle sat in their lot for 2 more days. I know they don't reimburse Lyft's or Uber's, since they don't reimburse having your car towed back to their dealership after they caused the issue. I didn't bother to ask. I took 2 extra days off work just so I can stay in Los Angeles to be able to pick up my car on that next Monday the 29th. They also did not have an Office manager onsite that day I had issues. (maybe this would have helped) I spoke to JC I believe his is the service manager, but he could not help with the concerns I've expressed here. for a dealership that has the most 5-star ratings and the highest rating on google of any Acura Dealership in southern California, this is surprising. The Customer service on the floor between the Operator, Bradley, and Amy at the check-out desk was excellent. The rest, I want to think it was coincidence, but no one had solutions or answers to the issues at hand in real time that occurred that day.

The pricing he gave me felt seriously inflated, especially for a truck he didn't even have on the lot and needed to source from another dealership. I specifically asked questions about the "max trailering" package because I wanted to understand if it was worth it. After doing my research, I decided I didn't need it and didn't want to pay an extra $5,000. That's when the attitude really shifted. He kept pressing for a "final answer," and when I told him I had doubts, he abruptly said he would be "bowing out."
