Baklava fresh made in house from their own recipe, not reheated from a supplier!
    Liberty G.

From the moment we walked in, the owner was incredibly welcoming. He spoke enthusiastically about his food and gave us recommendations, which made the ordering process so enjoyable. There was a child, who was adorably helpful and took our order. While we waited for our food, we were served a complementary lentil soup, which was peppery, warm and delicious. If it was on the menu, I would've bought a quart. I ordered the Qabuli Palao with chicken shawarma as my protein of choice. The rice was perfectly seasoned and loaded with shredded carrots and raisins. The chicken shawarma was deeply marinated, cooked perfectly, and bursting with flavor without being overly salty. As a side dish to my order they include their unique hummus. It was light and airy with a distinct flavor that I loved. It was definitely different than the standard hummus you find elsewhere. I wish I knew their secret recipe. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his marinated chicken kabob plate, commenting on the quality of the meat and the great overall taste. Dessert was baklava because the ferni pistachio pudding was sold out. The owner proudly pointed out that they create their baklava in house and it's baked daily. Though I'm not usually a fan, my husband loved it, and even I have to admit theirs was fantastic. I was sad to hear the mantu (dumplings) are no longer on the regular menu because they take a long time to steam, and customers often got impatient. I will definitely be calling ahead next time to see if I can place a special advance order, as it's my favorite Afghani dish. Thank you to the owner and his sweet family for the excellent food and wonderful service. We will absolutely be back. Shout out to Belinda C. for the great review!

I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. The food speaks for itself. Juicy kabobs and the soup is delicious. The salad is so refreshing. The taste of food I will probably forget next week, but the customer service and kindness the owners of this restaurant left me is something I will never forget. They are so kind to their customers. The world needs more people at a time like this. I will definitely be coming back here not only for the food, but for the excellent customer service and hospitality.

WOW we are sooo blown away by this place!!! If we could give it a 10 star rating, we would. The naan bread was perfectly toasted yet soft and fluffy on the inside. Absolutely INCREDIBLE. The chicken plates were cooked so perfectly. Also I love that it's a family business. This is seriously a place you 100% need to try. Service was great, everyone was super kind, friendly, and generous. We loved the naan bread so much that the owner just gave us more! Definitely coming back!!!

Combo Lamb Tikka and Chicken Shawarma plate

Kabob Village has a very kind, hospitable, generous, and thoughtful owner. My sister and I shared a Combo Lamb Tikka and Chicken Shawarma plate. It comes with hummus, salad, 1 whole pita bread, and lentil soup. When I inquired how much an extra bowl of lentil soup would cost, he said he would take care of us and gave us another bowl of soup. He even offered us extra rice, which we declined because we're carb-conscious and the plate was plenty of food already. While we were there, there was a contractor or designer working with him. He was again super sweet and hospitable to her, asking her if she wanted to try Thai Milk Tea and other foods and to sample the Baklava before she bought out the tray. You get two skewers of lamb kabobs and lots of chicken shawarma. Lamb was seasoned well, tender and juicy. Lamb was my favorite. Chicken Shawarma was my sister's favorite because she preferred bite-sized pieces. Chicken is also yummy. The Lentil Soup is amazing. Thick with lots of lentils and flavorful. I probably would be content eating soup with a side of rice. The rice is not just plain white Basmati rice. It is seasoned. I imagine the Afghani rice plate of Qabili Palaw or Kabuli Pulao is even more delicious with the added ingredients of carrots, raisins, and nuts. Another Afghan specialty entree is the Mantu Dumplings. I was told you get 15 small meat & onion dumplings that fill up a plate. They are drizzled with a little yogurt and then covered with one of two different sauces, which I sadly can't remember what he said. I will definitely try this dish in the future. An Afghan version of Chana Masala is also offered at Kabob Village. It is a different and milder spice mixture than the Indian version of Chana Masala. Pistachio Ferni, a creamy rice pudding, is a dessert option, as well as Baklava. You can still buy bubble tea and some Asian dishes, like popcorn chicken, there. You order at the counter, but the food will be brought to your table and the staff will bus the table for you. Again, very hospitable. Kabob Village took over Fuji Teahouse's location in the Save Mart Plaza on Stanford Ranch Rd. It is walking distance from local schools. I have a difficult time remembering the name of the restaurant, but just search for a Mediterranean restaurant in Rocklin or on Stanford Ranch Rd. Best wishes to Kabob Village!

Chicken Shawarma and Kebab plates! (We got to go but ate some while it was still fresh and hot!)

My girlfriend and I wanted boba, food, and something new! The tldr; the food was awesome, the owner was awesome, and the boba was awesome! We landed on going here to Kabob Village! At first on researching, we had been kind of confused because of all the Fuji Teahouse signage and had been wondering if Kabob Village and Fuji Teahouse were in the same building or what that was all about. Well, I can tell you it is definitely Kabob Village, Fuji Teahouse used to be located here but is no longer. That said, Kabob Village does in fact still have a Boba, Tea, and Smoothie menu (including the common boba place snacks like spring rolls and popcorn chicken)! As well as a full menu of Kabob, Gyro, Shawarma, and more! The owner was super nice and inviting, my girlfriend and I wanted to share a few things and the owner offered to split the order between the two plates so we each had a variety on our plate! Which was very considerate! He also advised that even though we did order to go, we should sit for a bit and eat the food while it was still hot off the grill for the full experience! We did take him up on that offer! While we waited for our orders we also were treated to a few spicy chicken and vegetable soups that were delicious, we both really liked the soup and it was not a part of our original main order, nice! The teas were also really good! A lot of boba places will have high sweet but less defined flavor, for me this place had a good combo of the two! We got Original and Thai and both were rich and flavorful and the boba was good fresh texture! As for the food I will say it was delicious, we got Chicken Kebab and Chicken Shawarma which came with a side salad, basmati rice, pita bread, and hummus! I can say the food was great but also the picture speaks for itself! The owner also came out and provided us with a free pistachio dessert before we left, which was well-flavored, chilled, and tasty! Anyways, the place is great so if you're on the fence I'd say just do it, you won't regret it!

Tried this new Afghan-Mediterranean fusion spot and loved it! The food was so flavorful and good portions, plus the lamb in the shawarma plate was the best I've ever had. Sammi was extremely welcoming, and gave amazing customer service. We also got fresh hot pita with hummus and complimentary chicken chickpea soup, which made the experience even better. Definitely recommend! Best spot for shawarmas that we've tried.

Fresh hummus and fresh flatbread-- excellent, fresh, not too salty or greasy!

Sooo happy to have some delicious kabob choices in our area!! We had excellent chapli kabob (maybe a bit of cilantro next time) lamb kabob, hummus, basmati rice m, fresh salad and even the excellent vegetarian egg rolls.. EVERYTHING was HOT FRESH and DELICIOUS!! Our adorable waiters were on target too!! And very much appreciate the extra hummus and delicious, light pistachio dessert-- soo good- and light, not too sweet, just Right!! PLEASE come and enjoy this excellent, delicious, kind restaurant/family!! So happy you are here!!

    Super fresh soft warm Pita!

Tucked back behind Taqueria Roberto in the Save Mart shopping center corner of Prak and Stanford Ranch. A gem!The food is absolutely amazing and that is why I keep coming back!! Service is top notch. Sam really cares about his customers and you feel it! Do yourself a favor and try Kebab Village!

She'd noticed my growing curiosity about Afghan cuisine from a previous visit elsewhere and gently pointed me toward Chopan Kabob House, insisting it was worth the experience. There was something comforting in that recommendation--like being guided toward a place that already held meaning for someone you trust. When I arrived, I was immediately struck by the restaurant's clean, welcoming atmosphere. The space felt intentional--nicely furnished without being overwhelming, simple yet warm. I mentioned I was ordering takeout, and the gentleman behind the counter handed me a menu. At first glance, it seemed straightforward, but the more I looked, the more it felt thoughtfully curated--each item carrying a sense of tradition and care. Wanting a proper introduction, I chose the Combination Kabob with Tikka and chicken. It felt like the right balance--a way to experience more in a single meal. I was told it would take about 20 minutes, and as I sat waiting, I found myself appreciating that detail. In a world built on speed, those 20 minutes felt reassuring. It suggested intention, freshness, and the kind of cooking that isn't rushed. When I finally brought the meal home and opened the container, I was genuinely surprised. The portions were generous--almost abundant. A vibrant salad added a refreshing contrast, while the long-grain rice was fragrant and perfectly cooked. Then there were the stars of the meal: the Tikka beef and the chicken, both beautifully prepared. Each bite carried depth--layers of spices and seasoning that felt both bold and comforting. It wasn't just flavorful; it felt rooted in something deeper, something traditional. By the time I finished, I realized this wasn't just a satisfying meal--it was an experience that lingered. There's a certain nostalgia in discovering a place like this for the first time, especially through the recommendation of someone close to you. It feels personal, almost like being let in on a secret. I'm already looking forward to returning, perhaps next time to dine in and take in the full experience. And with a menu that promises more to explore, this feels less like a one-time visit and more like the beginning of a new favorite.

We returned many times since then but today, the old memories of why Ariana was one of our favorite restaurants returned. We ordered our favorites: Chablee kabobs, Chicken kabobs, Qabuli rice, mantoos, and Bolani. Qabuli rice or Kabuli pula, is my favorite. The basmati rice is served with the tender lamb meats. It's fragrant, eye-pleasing, and a good balance of sweet and savory spices and ingredients. It surely fits to be called the national dish of Afghanistan. Mantoos (Afghan dumplings) is the must have in my family. It's filled with ground beef and onions, covered with chickpeas sauce and tzatziki sauce and sprinkled with mint. It's refreshing. Bolani (potatoes turnovers) served with my favorite chutney that's made with cilantro, vinegar and garlic. The kabobs were tender and delicious as expected. I always like the foods from this restaurant. Today, the food arrived piping hot!! We did mostly takeouts from this restaurant for years. I noticed the restaurant did a lot of takeout orders but not many eating in. We did dine-in once, a few months ago. The restaurant updated their interior. The interior felt too dark when we went there for lunch. While the restaurant looked cleaner, I wasn't sure what the theme was. The spaces didn't seem to blend together to create a feeling of comfort. It's not enticing for us to stay to enjoy our foods inside the restaurant. I first encountered Afghan cuisine some 20 years ago when I was privileged to work with resettling Afghani people in St Louis, MO. I have eaten at many Afghan restaurants since then and have enjoyed the food very much. However, of all the restaurants and homes that I've eaten in, I have found that I do not enjoy the sauces offers here. There is no true "white" sauce that I've eaten elsewhere and all of the sauces are watery instead of thick. Perhaps it is a regional preference. Also, I wish they would consider adding a half naan/half rice option to the place instead of rice OR naan. The rice, by the way is absolutely DELICIOUS I also enjoy the complimentary green or milk tea but would appreciate a cooler of water to be dispensed in the same area. I enjoy both the food ambience in this casual spot. I will continue to return, as I work my way through their menu.
