This is definitely one of the best kabob places in Fairfax. if you're looking for great quality meats cooked to perfection, go here. They have very generous portions including rice, a large helping of bread, a salad and another side dish. I usually choose the meatballs as my side dish (don't knock it 'til you try it), but the garbanzo beans are also very good. Every side dish we have tried are good complements to the main dish and are spiced to perfection. The salad is also a great, if underrated, part of the dish. It's not a big portion and they don't give you a lot of vegetables, but the dressing is fantastic. Make sure you try the green dipping sauce on your meat of choice. It's a little spicy at first, but ends up clean and very refreshing. I basically drown the meats in that sauce. The sauce is also good to put on the bread that they give you (which seems almost comically oversized...but who doesn't love bread). If you're looking for kabobs and are nearby, go here. I was initially hesitant because they also advertise fish and chips. I guess I don't really get the relationship between kabobs and fish and chips, but whatever. The kabobs are really super yum. After moving out of range of Meat In A Box in Falls Church, the 9-months-pregnant lady of the house was kvetching about not having a go-to kabob joint in the new 'hood. My favorite kabob place. It's basic but does it well. The chicken and kubideh are deliciously well-seasoned and tender. The nan is fresh and soft. I love their chickpeas, which are slightly spicy, I think they're stewed in curry maybe? The non-kabob dishes are great as well, like the dumplings and meat-filled pastries. And don't forget the sauce! It's a yogurt based sauce that's a little spicy and has lots of cilantro. Perfect compliment to grilled kabob. The service is good too. There aren't waiters, but the people that take the orders are friendly, flexible, and hard-working. I stopped in looking for a late dinner. I was hoping for a light dinner but should have known better. I wound up with the gyro wrap. The gyro was wrapped in homemade Afgan Tandoori flatbread. I chose the beef version. It included a generous amount of lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, and onions. White sauce was provided in a small, side container. The meal included a side of french fries. You order at the counter and are called when your order is ready. They had fountain soft drinks and a selection of bottled/canned drinks. The restaurant appeared well cared for. Food was pretty good. Decor was ok. No "atmosphere" here. Had boneless chicken kabob which comes with rice, salad, bread and side. We got the spinach but I didn't care for it. Everything else was good. We also had hummus which was good but didn't seem homemade. I split all this with a friend and we had more than enough. They offer free hot tea which I loved. Just picked up a combo meal, three different meats chicken, beef, lamb, all taste the same (overly spiced!!) The meat is clearly not fresh and has lots of vanes and nerves in the meet. I was going to be in the area so I found this place on Yelp and wanted to try. I did a web order for a combo kebab and manti and eggplant dish. Manti is not the same version as the Turkish one but it is a tasty cousin. I enjoyed the eggplant and the kebab, rice was a little tough but I was late picking up my order, could be it was not warm by the time o got to it. My absolute favorite kabob place in the area. It's a little dangerous working right down the street. My favorite dish is the chicken kabobs which come with come with rice, salad, 1 side and naan bread. Their portions are huge! They have 2 different dipping sauces, green & white. The green is cilantro based and their white is yogut based, i believe. Their white sauce is so good, I put it on EVERYTHING! Anyone who knows me knows I love all types of dips & sauces. Seriously the best kabob place! My husband and I use to drive all the way to Crystal City to go to Kabob Palace and although I love them too, this is the first place to beat them out. This place has taken the reign of "best kabobs" in my book. Their lamb is AMAZING!!! I totally agree with a previous reviewer that it is PHENOMENAL!! It has the best flavor and is so tender (unlike some lamb kebabs that are kind of fatty and chewy). This place also gives great portions for the price and is such a good deal... However, this place doesn't have the best side offerings or chutney... but I'd still give it 5 stars alone for the kabobs itself which is the most important part! read more

I have tried them several times and food is good for an Afghan Place. This is more of a Pointer Review. I just wanted to point out that when in restaurant industry, a customer is placing an order. They should always be advised on Food price. I called in to place an order for a lunch special. The lunch special was roughly 7 something. It only comes with bread and salad. I wanted to get a side of rice. The gentleman taking my order did not advise me that the side of rice will cost almost as much as the lunch special itself. The side of rice was almost 6 dollars and meal almost 7. Then, I asked him that I could've very well been advised on ordering an entire meal and I would've gotten a side along with it. I asked him if he could just change my order and I can pay a dollar difference or whatever it is to get an entire meal and he said it was too late to do so. So, in the end I paid what I would've paid for an entire meal for just a lunch special. I honestly think he should've advised me I am not upset but just a friendly recommendation. I've been going to this spot for several years now as a mason student and I have never been disappointed. Their food is delicious, you get a great portion for the amount you pay and the staff is very kind. I recently had a graduation at George Mason University and knew my family was going to be hungry afterwards and one of the managers personally worked with me to ensure our food for a family of 24 was ready when we arrived, even though it was around their closing time. Big fan! I eat here about once a week. I mostly get K8 - the lamb and chicken kabob. It comes with rice, salad, bread and choice of a side. I usually get the spinach, which is delicious! But I've also enjoyed K2 - chicken kabob and W2 - gyro wrap. The appetizer A3 - Sambosa is pretty decent. I've sampled the E1 Quabili Palau too, which is also pretty tasty. Kabob Corner is a new afghan restaurant to open up in Fairfax. Since I'm still desperately searching for a go-to afghan kabob place in Fairfax I had to stop in. Inside is casual, but not the sketchy hole-in-the-wall feel that most kabob places (at least the good ones) have. The menu offers much more than just kabobs, with an assortment of appetizers, entrees, and sides. They all sounded good, but I was here for kabobs. I got the chicken and kubideh combo which came with bread, salad, rice, and side vegetable. One thing to note is how many vegetables you have to choose from. In addition to the standard chickpeas or spinach, they also offer a cauliflower dish, as well as sauteed pumpkin. The chickpeas and rice were both pretty bland and crappy. The bread was outstanding, with a moist and doughy wheat bread flavor to it. Salad was actually pretty good, and an upgrade from typical lettuce leaf, piece of tomato and piece of cucumber that you usually get. This was an actual salad with a light yogurt dressing, soumac, and fresh greens and vegetables. The kabobs were a mixed bag. The chicken pieces were pretty small, and not very plump or juicy. Flavor was decent, but I needed more meat. The kubideh was actually excellent, though maybe a tad undercooked. I really like how flavorful it was though and you could see tons of herbs residing in the juicy middle. Kabob Corner has good prices and great variety that would make me return, but I'll likely continue my search. They do a pretty good job, but it's still not the overwhelmingly definitive kabob experience that I'm searching for. read more

What a disgrace as an Afghan restaurant! The lady at the cashier refused to give me her name and had an attitude from the moment we stepped in. If your food isn't that great, as least take pride in your service. My 85 year old grandpa asked for a business card as he likes their fish and her literal response was "For what?". I'm sorry but that is not how you speak to your customers let alone an old man. She told him to go online and check the address and use a GPS! On top of that, while we were sitting, I heard her scolding at a worker. After confronting her, she told me "it's my problem" and that she doesn't care that we felt disrespected instead of just apologizing. It's safe to say we won't be returning and based off these other reviews, it seems like this woman needs a major attitude adjustment! I just placed another order to Kabob Corner, I am writing whilst waiting. It is the only restaurant programmed into my phone, so I obviously am a fan. This place does Afghan food right, the location is clean, modern and well maintained. It is easy to just hang out there and watch TV, although I live down the street so I just take it to go. The food is fabulous, the eggplant side dish is the pinnacle in my opinion. The K7 Lamb chops are fantastic too. You really cant go wrong with any chicken or lamb. It's all Halal meat.
