Very yummy kabobs from a small hole in the wall place. I have been there twice now and had a delicious meal both times. I ordered the Flame Combo 1 which comes with a steak and chicken kabob. Both meats are flavorful and delicious. They cook it to order so it comes out hot and fresh. I love the white sauce, it is creamy and light. The white sauce pairs well with the meat and rice. This is a really good place to go. Parking can be challenging, but worth it. My suggestion is to put the car, behind the restaurant. Once inside they have a host of combo meals. Inflation has raised prices, but like the kabobs, chickpeas, and tandoori bread. They are consistently good. Great employees. You'll find everyone quite pleasant. I've eaten kabobs for decades but today, 11 May 2024, I think I just had the best kabobs of my entire life. I was in the area for an event at Chantilly high school and randomly wandered into this place. I ate in the store and everything was so fresh and amazing I was blown away. First, the bread was so fresh and delicious--melt in your mouth not chewy. Full of flavor. The chickpeas were top notch and I ordered a second serving bc they were so good. I had kubideh and chicken combo. Both were as perfect as humanly possible. I don't think I would ever say this but these kabobs are better than Ravi kabobs in Arlington. These kabobs were better than shamshiri in Tyson's. Invoking the names of both those place should be a sacrilige but this Flame Kabob place has earned it. This is my to go place every week because I live very close to this place. I love their kebab but sometimes they give me old bread which is very stale. Most of the time they do it because they bake it before. I always asked them to bake a new bread because mostly I don't take rice, only bread. So bread must be baked fresh. I usually don't have but a few minutes to grab lunch so they are convenient because they are fast and healthy. I like how they allow me to substitute some items due to my food allergies. I like all of their kabobs, and their gyros are some of the best. I've compared around to other places but their gyros are better due to better seasoning and more toppings. I absolutely love their potato stew. I wish they would create an entree that combined just the kabob and stew. I usually see a constant stream of people ordering from them every day. The service was horrible the guy kept telling me that he would make me something else and I told him I simply wanted a refund. He was very rude started yelling and arguing. Good stuff. I've been here a few times in the past when I lived in Fairfax. I wouldn't say these kabobs are the best out there but still quite tasty. Service is friendly enough. Plastic silverware, cups, plates, napkins, drinks are all within reach. I appreciate that they offer complimentary Afghani tea. There is usually a pot of it sitting on the counter beside the soda machine, help yourself. They also make their own chili sauce, which is delicious. It adds a nice kick to your meal. All kabob combos come with fresh Afghan bread, salad, and a side (ie. chick peas, potatoes, spinach, etc.). The kabobs are tasty and their portions are good. Don't forget to get white and green sauce for your meal, goes great with the meats and rice. I wouldn't travel from afar to eat here but if you're in the area and in the mood for kabobs, it's a nice place to visit. read more

Awhile ago, a friend ordered take out from this Flame Kabob location (they have a Springfield location too). They accept credit cards, and you can eat in their restaurant if you like. They're open every day of the week. Flame Kabob states they serve "authentic Afghan cuisine" - their cooking tasted like Afghan cuisine to me, and everything was delicious and flavorful. We had their amusingly-shaped, tender kabobs (for those who are interested, they use Halal meat), their kabob salad, and a variety of appetizers. After a yelp event at total wine and more I need some quick eats so my husband went on the yelp app and we ended up here. I got the lamb meal and my husband got a gyro. The gyro was small compared to others places in the nearby area. The meat was not flavorful and it tasted just okay per his words. The lamb meal came with a side salad, rice, chickpeas and meat. The lamb was okay but I have had better. The rice and chickpeas were good but nothing exceptional. I have had better food for the price and next time I will choose elsewhere. I come here often and enjoy the food for the quality and the price. The chicken breast is delicious, sufficiently seasoned so that the taste isn't too rich or too bland. The portions are generous and the accompanying green chutney sauce is sweet and spicy, very much to my liking. I wish I had the recipe. The afghan bread is always cooked to perfection and the hummus isn't too oily. Kabab is pretty decent but the rice is not that great I am only saying that because as an Afghan myself I know what good rice is. Over years this place has improved. Staff is nice and the lady who cooks is super sweet. Over all clean place and it's my go to place for gyro or chicken Kabab. Don't try the Farnee (Afghan dessert) they don't make it good, the corn flour was way too much and it tasted horrible. Baklava was pretty good though. So my family has come to this restaurant literally for over 10 years. - the quality of the food has gone down. The rice is bland and they no longer put saffron into it. The chickpeas are weirdly sweet . They're cutting corners now I guess . I am back in town and due to covid they have no seats inside the restaurant available---- YET they have 2 tables outside for CUSTOMERS . There's a homeless man with a shopping cart full of garbage sitting at one of the tables chain smoking . I asked the girl working the register if there was something they'd do about him - mostly because he is SMOKING and I don't feel comfortable eating there . So she smugly said no. I used to swear by this place but over time the service has progressively gotten worse. The orders were messed up a few times where we didn't get all of the sauce we ordered and that was fine, not the end of the world. However, the last time we ordered we received the wrong order completely and didn't notice until we got home. I was sitting next to my boyfriend who placed the order with a woman on the phone. When I called the store, I nicely explained what happened and the woman who took the order put a man on the phone who told me that the order was said incorrectly by my boyfriend. I explained to him no, I heard what was placed as I was right there when he called it in, but we would just like the correct food, he raised his voice saying we got what we ordered, muttered under his breath, and hung up the phone on me. My boyfriend called back and the guy told him "you can get chicken some other time". I really love this Kabob spot. Some people like the kabob that comes on a skewer with veggies in between the meat. Not I. I loveeeee the way they do it here. You just get chunks of meat on a bed of rice with a side and a giant piece of naan bread and a great cucumber-ish sauce. (they do have veggie only kabob too for people who go against how we were created and don't eat meat). If you like meat, you will love this place. All the meat choices are good, from the steak to the chicken to even the swordfish it is all exceptional. They have a $7 special where you get 4 pieces of meat instead of the traditional 8 which is a good deal (comes with same rice and side), but I find myself needing more meat, so I typically end up spending $12-$14. They have another item or 2 (I had the gyro, it was so-so) but if you are going to go here you should get the kabob. The one thing you need to know is that Kabob takes longer than traditional items to cook, so I recommend you call ahead. When the place gets really crowded (not a lot) it can take up to 30 minutes to get food, so if you see a big crowd there you should either call in, be willing to walk around the shopping center, or just skip it til the next time. Sides include chic-peas, corn and spinach. I always get the spinach. The meals also come with a little bit of salad and are on a bed of sort of spicy rice. Overall a good pace, a great value for a lunch/all day special and a meat lovers place to be. read more
