Yummy + inexpensive = My Kind of Place We called ahead to order since Kababs are made fresh. We ordered the regular Chicken kabab and the Gola (due to the rave reviews) to go. The chicken was very juicy. It had almost the texture of sausage but bursting with flavor. Great deal for $1.75. We had high hopes for the Gola Kabab ($5). While it was a mouthful of spice and tender meats, it is definitely an acquired taste. We've had more than our share of indian and mediterranean cuisines, so pakistani was a new territory for us. The Gola Kabab is almost like a very fine meatball (threaded to keep it together on the stick). The inside has texture of pate (accent mark). It is spicy yet you can taste the depth of the spices within. We also ordered the garlic naan and regular naan. Both were served hot and fresh, fluffy, with the perfect mix of soft and crunchy. This spot is extremely unprofessional. I ordered chicken biryani, since this is a pickup only spot I didn't have the luxury to check my food before leaving the restaurant. Once I got home they gave me the wrong item. I do understand mistakes happen. I immediately called the restaurant and they said they would give me a free biryani in return when I come back to cover the mistake they made. I went back to the restaurant 2 days later to inform them that I was there to pickup the biryani. An employee named SAZZAD started arguing with me that it was my FAULT that I ordered the WRONG food. He went on with arguing with me being sarcastic. He was extremely RUDE. When I demanded my refund he would not give it back. Moral of the story SAZZAD twisted the story and blamed everything on me for their mistake! This sort of customer service is disgusting! Also none of the employees in the restaurant followed the COVID guidelines. The employees in the back did not wear a mask and SAZZAD had his mask on halfway while taking customers. We ordered 3 Gola kabab parata rolls and one of them we found a small nail in it!!! PLEASE be careful. Lucky enough my husband spat it out. But this is NOT acceptable! As for the taste of the kabab rolls. It was too spicy and mushy. The rolls could've had some salad in it and the meat could have had some texture to it (not in the form of nails). Kababish is a great takeout place, and easy on the wallet. I've been on many occasions, but just recently stopped over to try out the gola kebab. It was good, but I was expecting it to be spicier. I usually get their chicken kebabs, and they're just as spicy. They are a good deal less expensive too, at just $1.75. I order two of these and nan, it's a giant piece. Nan comes in your typical varieties, but they also have a sesame one that's nice. I've sampled some of the other items, but this is my go to. Everything else looks good though. Kababish is more of a meat lovers paradise, but they have a couple tasty snacks a vegetarian can enjoy too! Don't worry, that naan on the counter is for display, not sitting around to be eaten. They make all their naan here fresh to order. Seriously, where else do you get that!?! The naan is freshly cooked to-order in front of your eyes using their oven. Honestly, the oven makes the texture a bit tough and chewy to eat on their own for me, but I really like to use them as wraps for other indian goodies. The flavored naans smell amazing. The garlic and onion are SUPER pungent. A vampire wouldn't come in a mile radius of your breathe after the garlic naan. Somehow, the Onion naan is even stronger and spicier! If suggest if you go for the garlic or onion naan, use them to pair with less spiced dishes. The sesame naan looks like it would pair perfectly with the spicier foods but they were out of sesame the last time I tried to order it. Unfortunately the vegetable rice is not actually vegetarian. The regular rice is vegetarian though :) The vegetable curry is vegetarian, but it really should be renamed "Potato Curry" because I didn't see any other vegetable in there. That being said, the flavors of the fresh spices were great. It had a lot less tumeric and coriander than I'm used to in Indian curries. It was also extremely oily. These people are a bunch of con artists. Ordered three times and our order is always wrong. We ordered 10 naans from here, with katakat and biryani. Once we got there the naan packet looked a bit small for 10 naans so we decided to count it. We counted, and low and behold, 7 naans. Seriously i understand being a naan short, I'll even give you two, but three naans? Now you're just a thief. The owner started accusing his workers of stealing and how he'll fire people. That show was enough for me to understand that he knew they were shorting people. I paid for extra Magaz in the katakat, there was none. The biryani was the worst I've ever tasted, Ever. They were also selling expired mango juice, knowing most people won't check. Please please check your order and the expiration dates of your drinks. This was the second time they've done this to me. They overcharged my husband and never even gave him our full order. We had items missing. Same thing when my sister in law went. They are at least a naan or two short every time. Just because someone is white you think you can take advantage of them? Which is how they felt. My friends have had the same experience with this place. Finally, after making eye contact with someone who seemed like the manager, I was asked what I'd like to order. I had the famous Gola Kebab and garlic naan. The naan is enough reason to come here. For $1.25 you get a huge circle of hot naan. The garlic naan is seasoned thoroughly on the outside and inside. And it's fluffy. The Gola Kebab is amazing. I admit, it looks pretty weird and has a strange texture. But it wasn't until I ate it did I realize it just works. It's a moderately spicy combination of beef and chicken and the texture is smooth, which makes it perfect to pick up with naan. This kebab, the fresh baked naan, and the cool chutney make for the perfect combination. The only thing missing is a refreshing mango lassi on the side. I was dying for a cold mango lassi on a hot day, but they told me their lassi was not cold. Im not sure why, because they should be making it fresh or refridgerating that stuff... One of the greatest Queens restaurants ever. Pakistani to-go, but there are 3 uncomfortable stools if you want to try for them. They are perpetually crowded, and for good reason. Wow. What a place we found on our visit to NYC! After five days of amazing food in Manhattan, we craved authentic Pakistani food. When we got to Kababish, we found out it is take-out only. The locals waiting for their to-go's said this place was amazing. We got gola kabab, behari, seekh, and nihari with garlic naan and parathas. This was hands down the best Pakistani grill we have had in the States. It was like sitting at a highly rated kabab house (aka Ghaffar's) in Karachi! Thank you, Kababish, for an awesome experience. I went to this place because it was in weird eats. The kababs were mouth watering. The naans were not soft and very tough to eat. This place knows kababs. I hate to give it a 4 stars but I feel I should because its so dirty. That's the only thing that prevents me from going back. I never write reviews but this place deserves it. I had the chicken kabad and chicken samosas and the goat curry with rice and it was phenomenal. This is the best indian/pakistani place in all of NYC by far. But the reason i am writing this review is because i was eating my meal on the bus bench outside as there was no room to sit down and eat in the restaurant and the gentleman in the store offered me to have a seat in the back of the restaurant as he saw me freezing on the bench outside. The prices here have increased but they're still totally on point. I always get the chicken tikka. The chicken is firm and boneless yet still juicy. I've had there signature kebab, it too is delicious but beware of the spice. The owners are friendly and they accept credit card with a minimum. There's no seating here so get carry out.
