Bihari Kabab!!
Shayer S.

I've had Ghoroa a long time ago, like aImost 15 years ago! I remember enjoying their food, and especially their beef bihari Kabab, at that time. I'm back in NYC and was craving bihari kabab so ordered that from here. Once it arrived, it didn't look too appetizing. The color was off, it had no "burn marks" on it but the taste was ok, like a 6/10. Nothing to write home about. A few days later, a relative ordered the same thing from Boishakhi Restaurant and it completely blew away Ghoroa's version. It was better in every way - looks, texture and most importantly, taste. So based on that, I'm rating Ghoroa as average. 3/5.

One of the best place to get Bangladeshi/ Pakistani/ Indian foods. Wide range of mouth watering foods with reasonable price. That have delivery, curb side pickup and takeout facilities right now. Practicing social distancing and maintaining proper hygiene. Highly recommended.

I'm a frequent customer at this restaurant. 90% of the time I get the vegetable somosa and some kebab. But last night I found a pebble the size of a marble in my vegetable somosa. Horrified. I went back to the restaurant to tell them. When I asked if the front staff told the manager she replied "we are all managers". Can't say if I will be returning there ever.

Excellent outside looking and inside but food is junk. Food test is good but I know where is coming from. So I would like to say avoid it.

The spinach omelet is super tasty. Service was excellent. Location is easy to walk to and parking in the street is pretty good mid day Sat. Clean, beautiful decor and they sell cards, and things which is nice. Highly recommend this place for the conscious mind body and soul.

This review is ONLY about the food and my experience eating here. I stumbled across this spot and stopped in because I was curious about the food since it was vegeterian and I was on a no-meat cleanse. It's a bit inconspicuous so you may not even realize it's a restaurant from the outside. That being said, it seems to be a very popular vegetarian spot in the area and has a good variety of vegetarian Indian dishes as well as Western vegetarian dishes. The spot is midsized, with a good amount of seating. The staff were very friendly and helpful with questions about the dishes. I ordered a few items - vegetables pakora, bhajia, and the Annam Brahma dinner. I also tried their chai. Overall, the food wasn't too bad and was a good portion for the price. I loved the chai and also ordered a mango lassi, which was also very tasty. The pakora and bhajia were delicious and paired well with the sauce. The Annam Brahma dinner was filling although I wish it has a bit more seasoning. Overall, this is a good spot for vegetarian food if you're in the neighborhood and looking for a good vegetarian spot.

To start off we got the Aloo Gobi Samosa which was good. As for the main dish I got the Chicken Saag Tikka which was very good but had very little chicken inside of it which was really disappointing. It seems like I was just eating a dish filled with sauce and few pieces of chicken inside it. We got one order of garlic and rosemary naan which was already cut up in quarter pieces. The naan came in very useful especially with all that extra sauce I had left from my chicken saag tikka dish. To finish off the night I got the Malai Kulfi ice cream for desert which was super frozen took some struggle to break off the pieces without making a mess. Overall this place is a nice quiet spot for dinner not to mention the TV above the door had plenty of Indian music videos on the whole time we were there. Also the service was good no complaints here.

The Food The cooking…read morehere is the real thing -- not the flattened, one-note version of Indian food that so many places settle for, where everything arrives tasting vaguely of the same sauce. At Tikka n' Talk, the spicing has genuine architecture. Each dish has its own personality, its own balance, its own arc from first bite to last. You taste individual spices rather than a generic wall of heat, and there's a depth underneath that only comes from someone who actually knows what they're doing. The tikka is outstanding and lives up to the name -- properly charred at the edges, smoky from real high-heat cooking, and still tender inside. That combination is harder to pull off than it looks, and getting it right every time takes skill. The curries have body and complexity. Sauces that have clearly been built rather than assembled, with layers that reveal themselves as you eat. Nothing is greasy, nothing is heavy in the bad way, and nothing tastes like it came out of a can. The bread deserves its own mention. Fresh, blistered, warm -- the kind you keep tearing off pieces of long after you're full. The Room and the Service The name isn't accidental. This is a place designed for lingering, and the atmosphere delivers on it. Warm, comfortable, and genuinely welcoming without being fussy. It's the kind of room where conversation flows easily, where you settle in without noticing an hour has passed. The staff are a huge part of that. Warm, attentive without hovering, and clearly happy you came. They know the menu cold and will steer you well if you ask -- including on spice levels, which they'll actually calibrate to what you want rather than defaulting to whatever's easiest. That kind of care shows up everywhere in the experience. Food comes out hot, timed well, and exactly as ordered. Basic things, but plenty of places fail at them. The Bottom Line Tikka n' Talk is the rare restaurant that's excellent on every axis at once -- the cooking is skilled, the room is inviting, and the people running it obviously care. It's become a regular for us, and I recommend it without hesitation to anyone who asks where to eat. If you haven't been, go. Order more than you think you need. Stay a while -- the name is an instruction, and it's good advice. Highest possible recommendation.

BEST TIKKA MASALA IN NEW YORK!!!…read more Love coming here, couldn't recommend any more. Excellent food and great service!

Delivery order This…read morewas a miss. While the order was on time and the driver was courteous the restaurant will not be getting more business from me. They got 2 parts of the order wrong. The worst was the drink. I paid EXTRA for strawberry lemonade. Not only was there no strawberry, it wasn't even lemonade. It dusty colored cold water that tasted like someone added a teaspoon of lemon concentrate. No sweetness, barely any flavor at all. Just a weak hint of fake lemon. Definitely no strawberries. The food itself was not great. Just meh. The lamb vindaloo was the only thing with any character. I think there were 4 small cubes of lamb and 3 small potato cubes. I know it's a lunch portion, but dang. They didn't skimp on the sauce though. Everything was drowning in sauce. I've never had thin tomato soup before, but the flavor was OK. I might try those ingredients myself at home with some Campbell's - and a heavier hand. At least it was piping hot. The one thing I really liked was the naan! It was soft and warm and tasted like it had just been made. This was a $20 order, I expected a lot better. I didn't think the bread would be the star of this show.

Beware the outdated star rating, inflated by positive reviews from years past. Sort reviews by…read more"Newest First" rather than "Yelp Sort" to get a more accurate picture of the current experience. Like many others, we thoroughly enjoyed our first visit years ago, but unfortunately, things have gone dramatically downhill. First, they've replaced the neat rows of seating along both walls with a seemingly random arrangement that makes the restaurant feel crowded and cluttered. Far worse, however, is the abysmal service and decline in food quality. Our waitress clearly knew the people at one table (family, perhaps?) and spent nearly our entire visit standing around chatting with them while neglecting everyone else. We were given a QR code linking to a completely different menu from the one on their website. Already knowing our favorites we ordered the Manchurian Dry and Mushroom Angare. Several dishes we'd looked forward to ordering were missing from the linked PDF, including the Chili Cauliflower. When asked about it, our waitress disappeared into the kitchen and returned five minutes later to say it wasn't available. We settled on the Chili Tofu instead and requested water, having already been seated for 15 minutes without being offered anything to drink. Instead of placing our order or bringing water, our waitress returned to chatting with her friends. After watching her socialize for another five full minutes, my girlfriend politely approached to ask for water when she had a chance. Her irritated response? "I'm the only person working." We've both worked in restaurants and have tremendous compassion for servers who are overwhelmed, but that simply wasn't the situation. Only two other tables were occupied, and the only thing keeping her busy was socializing while ignoring her customers. When the food finally arrived, the mushrooms were cold, the Manchurian Dry was soggy instead of crisp, and the Chili Tofu was dry. To their credit, the dishes were flavorful and well-seasoned, but the preparation and execution were disappointing. It's a real shame. With Royal Tangra Masala and Nanking both closed in New Hyde Park, we've been looking for a new Indo-Chinese restaurant to frequent. We won't ever be returning to this location under its current management, so the search continues.
