THEN CRICKETS. For an HOUR. No server, no nobody, no nothing. Then the food came. DOGSHIT. Pizza was bland af, we ate 2 slices total of each pie and called it, didn't bother asking for a box for this stuff. Server and a manager came over concerned, we are kinda reserved so we felt bad saying something, but they know. The manager was called over to several tables during our visit. People waited as long as us or longer. I would recommend Grottos and I don't even like Grottos, cuz you might get your pizza the same day you ordered it there P.S. Also to add, it's hot af in the restaurant, like they could cook the pizza on your table, and pizza (Detroit) was burnt like it sat in the rehoboth beach sun all day. Thought I should throw that in there :)

We stopped by Louie's and had the meatball grinder. This is no ordinary meatball sub. The meatballs…read moreare sliced thin, just enough sauce, and the sub roll was crispy, crunchy and flaky. Hands down the BEST meatball sub I've ever had, and that's saying a lot! When you stop in, say Hi to Colin. He's not just an amazing person but a great ambassador for Louie's. The service was fast, made to order, came out hot & fresh. The vibe is family friendly, unpretentious and authentic. Did I mention they've been in business 52 years?! The quality of the food and the friendly, helpful vibe is clearly a testament of their longevity and commitment to excellence. Thank you to all the staff and especially Colin for making my first visit to Rehoboth Beach Special.

Slice & Drink Review…read more Louie's is definitely a blast from the past. The dining room is straight out of 1970, and the walk up takeout right next door, at least a few decades older. The black and whites on the walls feel right out of a 50's newsreel. I love all that historic stuff from my own childhood, so it pleased me to go back in time for a little bit. I needed a slice and diet to carry me through the late afternoon and Louie's was right in front of me when we parked near the boards at the top of Rehoboth Ave. I knew nothing about pizza at this shore, but my Jersey roots made me comfortable it would be decent. The reheat on the mushroom slice was strong enough to crisp the firm scorched crust back to life, and allowed the mozzarella to sweat and melt, while the sliced dark schrooms remained embedded in the surrounding cheese. It was a smaller than expected triangle, but the taste and texture were fine. The crust was somewhat airy with a nice crunch; the red sauce wasn't memorable. Five bites and it was gone. Four Stars for the rekindled sandy memories.

We were told this was THE place to try in Rehoboth and I can only repeat the recommendation! We…read morecame for lunch on a chilly drizzly day and the tomato soup was deeply comforting and a huge pile of cheese on top. Service was quick and personable which is really not that common anymore. Pickle chips were super tasty with a good sauce. We aren't beer drinkers but the warm cocktail was also delicious and another blanket of comfort. We both had sandwiches and both barely finished half, the portions are worth 2 regular or 3 small meals! The chicken could have used more seasoning but it was plenty. The salmon burger was also huge and perfectly cooked. What everyone knows to be true is- you want to be fed well and have a great time trying new drinks, definitely check out Dogfish.

I had the Rhinestone Cowboy burger, which was seasoned well and medium rare, but it was dry, especially around the edges. The bbq sauce was delicious. The fries were ok but not crispy. The other one had Korean tacos, which were also just okay. We tried the Coconut Etiquette beer, which as very refreshing and not as fruity as expected, which is a good thing; very subtle coconut notes. Wouldn't go back.
