Where as the other stellar spots offer a more intimate experience and tighter spaces, PDP is wide open with their layout. So wide as a matter of fact, that they're one of the few places that can truly be outdoor and indoor at the same time. Plenty of folks come here to booze, chill, and people watch, all of which could be considered pastimes of mine. Start it off with their specialty sangrias (hello rosé sangria), which aren't limited to red and white, but also beer as well. The latter is a bit of a surprise, and the taste is an extra kick (ginger beer?) that makes less beer-y but more cocktail'y. The rest of the drinks are mainly beers, frozen drinks, martinis, and cocktails. There are mocktails available for the non-alcoholic folks and a decent wine selection for people who aren't feeling the sangria. Pro-Tip: Happy Hour goes from 12pm-9pm. That's nine hours of easy drinking bliss. Food wise, I would venture their menu is more international than it is basque. Spanish tapas are certainly available here but they have pastas, pizzas, and sandiwches that are a solid complement to the drinks. Anything with their imported Iberico Ham is a safe be and the paella is extremely filling. The weekends can get pretty crowded and on some days they rock football / soccer matches. Bank on the friendly service (which is never a guarantee in HK) and do yourself a favor and indulge in their weekday happy hour and/or discounted brunch (30% off!).

The location is a bit hard to find but since it's part of the hotel so if a staff saw you looking for it, they will direct you to the right entrance. One thing that's more of a comment than a critic, the place is very big and there's plants to divide the tables/seatings, sometimes it's hard to get attention from the waiters so you might have to walk to the front to get whatever you need.

Hostile Management Ruined a Professional Group Event…read more We visited last night after calling ahead the day before and being explicitly told no booking was needed for a large group. Yet, when we arrived with 12 directors and professionals on a quiet Monday night, the restaurant was almost empty, and the manager immediately told us off for not booking. He talked down to me, avoided eye contact, and made us feel entirely insignificant. We tried to have a calm conversation and mentioned we were spending money on a two-hour social gathering, but he restricted us to sit in the corner and strictly ordered us not to mingle with his patrons. He flatly stated he didn't care about our money, only his 'regulars.' To make matters worse, they forgot one of our food orders, and some of the food we did receive was subpar. It's a shame because the floor staff were sweet and kind, but hospitality starts from the top. I have never felt more unwelcome and treated with such hostility at an establishment. Avoid this place! Wasn't in the mood to take a picture I'm afraid.

The decor is simple, brasserie like, ambience is relaxing. The staff is attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. On weekends they have a special brunch menu, which is really good value for money. The normal menu and kids menu is always available. The drinks menu is extensive, full bar is available. They have a decent selection of wine from different parts of the world. Selection by the glass is decent as well. To our surprise the food was excellent. We ordered cheese burgers, French toast and rosti potatoes with smoked salmon. The meat of the burgers was nicely cooked, the brioche like Bun was fresh and crispy, not soggy at all. The rosti potatoe was crispy, not oily at all. Smoked salmon was nice, the dill and yoghurt matched perfectly. Highlight was the French Toast. It was crispy, not too sweet, the batter not too thick, nice touch of cinnamon. The creme fraiche and the berries accompanied nicely. Looking forward to coming back to try more from the main menu.

That told me enough to at least visit TAP and check things out. Definitely the vibe I was hoping for, with a variety of draft beers available for a multitude of palates. I love how there's a food menu here too so you can snack while drinking! We tried a few beers, but the ones that stood out were the Honey Longan Lager and a sour Lingonberry Soursop Ale! The flavor combinations were great, and also unique finds you couldn't get at other shops! We ordered some food to eat as well - the garlic fries were VERY garlic-y, and we also got the lap cheung spread on bread. Think of pate but made with lap cheung! Super unique find as well. If you're into craft beers, then absolutely stop in The Ale Project if you're in the area!

Soup of the day, 'The Cream of Pumpkin' was spot on. As if I was actually in Europe. I guess I should say that I got lucky being here today. Def curious to taste the other soups. Knutsford…read moreTerrace and Elements were my only go-to drinking spots in Kowloon, but it's good to know about Mini Club. It's a rainy Friday night. Hillwood Road was not packed with bars, and so most of the shops next door were closed. It made this place more prominent, as it was almost full. I was expecting something very different than Mini Club was, as it was, after all, the "dark-side" of HK. But apparently it was pretty decent - nice quiet crowd, everyone's pretty chilled, seats were reasonably spaced. I particularly liked how they made high tables next to the windows. I thought the bars on HK Island side were less imaginative. Staff were attentive and the drinks were reasonably priced. Nuts would be refilled when you finished eating them, but mind you they might keep charging you. Otherwise nothing fancy over there. No shisha, no dices, no live music. Would be a tough sell in LKF/Soho, but it fits just well in TST.

[I was in need of a…read morenew outfit after I had destroyed my white jeans] With a handful of good reviews Mini Club definitely seemed like a good enough idea to start off my night of HK shenanigans. The bar is a little off the beaten path hidden away in a small alleyway but still only 6 minutes of walking. Coming in I immediately noticed how intimate and local this bar was. In contrast to many of my expat adventures in Central and LKF, this was definitely a nice change of pace. I seated myself at the bar and was handed the Ipad menu. There are about 5 or 6 pages of choices as you stumble through the menu and I finally settled for a cocktail named "Nothing". WIN. I now am finding this is an absolute unapologetic chick drink from HK, and something I will be bringing back States side in April. Midori, Malibu, Tripple Sec, Vodka and Pineapple juice. This legitimately has my name all over it. Moving on. Other things to mention: The bar is dimly lit and have live fish floating around a bowl as decoration, very cute and because of the lighting each of the staff has a light up name tag. Very Max Headroom. I personally snacked on the complimentary cheesy bits however the patrons around me were having snacks. I am disappointed I did not look at the menu. The place offers resounds itself as a Wine Bar lining the top of the room with bottles of every type they serve and have served [reminds me of my dorm room in college - just classy]. Naturally if you cannot find the wine you were in the mood for you are more than welcome to bring your own for a modest corking fee. All in all this place is a gem and definitely worth bringing a friend to next time. Word of advice: Try to stick to the drinks on a iPad menu. After my nothing I switched to my standard vodka soda water. Or so I hoped. What I received were actually 2 glasses: One with vodka, and one with soda water. I LOLed very loudly.

The restaurant is located on the 18th Floor at One Nathan overlooking Victoria Harbor. It is a small yet cozy elegant space, with high ceilings and grand decor. The design was inspired by local award-winning actress, Carina Lau. Besides set lunch and a tasting menu, Zurriola's a la carte is extensive, as well as its dessert and wine menus (with 20 pages filled with reds, whites, cavas and champagnes!). Zurriola's well trained service awarded the restaurant the 'best service' during Hong Kong Restaurant Week in 2014 and they offered a set lunch that we decided to try. In fact, the service is great: they seem very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the food. I picked the 'presa' salad as a starter. For me, it was a little disappointing. Having been raised in the land of Iberico, I know how a good presa tastes like and this dish seemed bland to me. So, I was curious as how the main would come. I went for the grilled salmon with asparagus emulsion: it was a very small portion, and it tasted okay. Very well presented and well done dish, but nothing special. However, the dessert, melted chocolate and ice cream, made up for the rest. Set lunch was around 230 HKD per head, which I thought was reasonable. Although I wasn't impressed with the food, I did love the space, the views and the atmosphere.
