We got to the store and they did indeed have the bat in both sizes....unfortunately most of the bats at Dick's have a theft prevention device affixed to the middle of the bat. This device not only adds weight, but affects the balance of the bat, so you can't get an accurate feel for a bat with this stupid thing attached to it. So, I found the sales associate working in the baseball section and asked if they could remove the security device so my son could determine which of the two bats he wanted. The sales associate said that they couldn't remove it. What?!?! You've got to be kidding me! Now, I could have just bought the bat, had my son check it out, and then return it, but that really doesn't make much sense now, does it? I promptly walked out of the store, frustrated that we drove 30 minutes for that! A great example of a customer service failure. Won't be going back to the Holland store again, I'll stick to the Rivertown store from now on (the location where we did end up buying the bat). Neither location has great service, seems to be common thread with most of the DSG's I've been to. Only reason we didn't go to Rivertown in the first place was because their website didn't have an accurate inventory of the bat being in stock. Go figure.

The saleswomen was very apologetic and I understood, but as I was leaving male employee said something along the lines of, "Maybe he (the customer) was heard wrong." That response bothered me more than the store not having the shoes. If you're unsure what a customer said over the phone, confirm it before telling them the item is available I didn't know there was an 880 or an 860. When I worked at Arby's when I was younger, we were taught to repeat an order back to the customer to make sure we had the order correct. The same basic principle applies here. Not only did they have a variety of volleyball shoes for us to choose from, they stayed open 20 minutes past their closing time to take care of us and help us out of this bind. Golf Galaxy in GR was the closest option for me, and having worked for a (superstore) competitor for a couple of years, I have enough product knowledge to get what I need without much help. So, despite some of the negative reviews on here, I decided to give it a go, and I am glad I did. To summarize: My club repair was done quickly and properly. A pro took the time to help me compare several putters, including a couple of Scotty Camerons (one of which I ended up buying), and even helped knock the dust off of my game a few putting tips! (Lord knows we golfers can scarcely receive too many of those.) I was also, as another reviewer lamented, asked if I intended on taking one home that day. This however didn't surprise me. These are $400+ putters, guys, and Titleist doesn't offer a lot of wiggle room. Every retailer has them on lock down. However, there was no pressure to buy one. Their apparel and equipment selections are rock solid, despite having a few things out of stock (I assume because of current supply chain issues), and the apparel staff was helpful and knowledgeable. Overall everyone was polite, humorous and helpful, and I left with what I needed. If you're in the area and want or need something, go get it. I hope this review has been helpful.
