Tried this place for the first time today and not bad at all. The donuts look a bit sloppy but they are really good. I had a french twist, and AGAIN although they look a little sloppy, they make up for it in taste. It had the soft airy almost raw dough inside that I love in french twists. Had a bite of the chocolate, and cruller. Not bad at all. When you bite into them it almost has a crisp outside but the inside is a lil bit dense than usual donuts but still soft and airy like you expect. Also sampled the cronut and even though I'm not a big fan of those, its the best one ive tried so far. It looked a bit like it was burned, but it wasnt. It was a lil sweet but it was good. This is by far the BEST DONUT shop I have ever been to! I have been coming to this shop since; I was in high school, once I got married I took my husband, and now I even take my son. We have a very close family and each Saturday someone shows up with a dozen or 2 of K's AWESOME DONUTS. My husband is in the military and we have moved to Hawaii and D.C. When family comes to visit, they stop at K's and grab 3-4 dozen of the chocolate old fashioned and apple fritters to bring along. It makes being away from home a little bit easier when you have the food that puts a smile on your face. I am hurt by the person who wrote the review (Black X.) giving only 1 star. This is a family style shop, they remember your name and always have a smile to greet you. This is a family who puts lots of love and care into the product they serve!!! Customer service-From the minute I walked in I was greeted warmly from the woman working behind the counter. I found this tiny shop by accident. It's tucked in a strip mall. Although all donuts are yummy, there is something special about these. Not too sweet with all types having a PERFECT texture. The girl there told me people come from all over and even ship these donuts to far away places. I can see why. Worth the trek and search to find them. I have been going to K-Donuts for years and am a big fan. Nonetheless, in my opinion, Peterson's donuts in Escondido is the Mecca of donuts. Now, don't get me wrong but while K-Donuts are delicious, they cannot match Peterson's with regards to the variety and product size. I went in this past Saturday and had 2 delicious Cronuts; one glazed and one chocolate. I preferred the chocolate cronut because I thought that the glazed cronut was way too sweet. I also had one chocolate twist. They were all warm or hot from the fryer. The owners are nice, hard working, people. I will be visiting again soon. I recently started to frequent this place. I've been here a few times over the years and tried the donuts but the jalapeno croissants are addicting and an affordable grab and go for me in the morning before work. I like the fact that I'm in and out in a few minutes or less, even when they are busy. Sylvia is very nice and so is her husband. I am a donut enthusiast and self-proclaimed connoisseur, and I have to say that after hitting up pretty much every donut place in the oceanside/vista area, I can't shake this place from my mind or find another place that comes even close. I frequent K-donut, borderline obsessively, and they have yet to disappoint. I bought a dozen, fresh-from-the-fryer this morning. Their raised donut dough is the most perfect mixture of creaminess, sweetness and fattiness ever concocted. Biting into it with its crisp outside and delectably soft inside was pure bliss. It was like cotton candy, the way it melted in my mouth. The chocolate glaze that went with it was smooth, unique, and oh-so-satisfying. Not only are their donuts spectacular, but their coffee is great, the service is wonderful, and the atmosphere of the shop lovely. I adore the mom and dad who run the shop - they are the cutest couple who truly care about their customers and pride themselves in what they do.
