They don't take credit card in a world where we have Covid and most places are cashless. They ask you to use their ATM if you don't have cash, charging you 3.00$. Now your spending 20$ on C+ donuts. CASH ONLY These are the best donuts I've had in North County apart from Danny's Donuts in Vista Village. This is a tiny shop inside with minimal seating as it is geared towards to-go orders. They have an extensive number of donuts to choose from - probably 40 or so. The lady behind the counter was super outgoing and helpful. We opted for a large selection of donuts for the office. This tiny little donut shop was something I stumbled across one day when I was out looking for fundraising locations for a nonprofit I was volunteering with at the time. K Donuts staff is really community oriented and care about the people they serve. When I explained what I was doing they really loved the idea and I was able to leave a donation jar behind. They were very kind and the prices are very nice, making this yet another local establishment that I can send local friends to. They have our community's best interest in mind. I have never left K donuts dissatisfied with the product and the customer service is a fantastic experience. There are a couple shops that are close by my house, and this is definitely one to go to play a big role in my weekend experiences as well as in helping make the community an even friendlier place to live! read more

While the donuts are good, they're not so good with implementing mask requirement for costumers. The owner was wearing a mask which is good however, two costumers walked in without mask and the owner didn't say anything. The customer was chewing gum and talking in front of my donuts. I know, l know, 5 stars for donuts??? YES!! They are so yummy! I usually get the glazed (l know, so boring) but they are delicious, moist, and dense in such a good and filling way. I dont want my donuts to be airy, l want to sink my teeth into them, and these do that. One thing to note, l am pretty sure they put coffee grounds/flavoring into the chocolate frosting. I love chocolate but hate coffee. K Donuts, if youre reading this, please stop this practice. I would totally get chocolate topped donuts but dont due to this. I absolutely hate coffee! They also have fabulous croissants, cronuts (croissant/donut--a myst try if youve never before had it!), and a great ham, cheese, and jalepeno croissant. The crullers are also great. I love when donut shops carry these and not all do these days. Just note that they only take cash. Which if you dont have any, youre in luck, they have an in store ATM for a small fee. They also will give you free cake donuts with the purchase of so many donuts. They also have espresso, chai, and other coffee drinks right there and also your normal refrigerated beverages. I love this place. I only wish they were open longer. I often cant get there before they close. But l guess that is better for my waistline. I have gained some serious weight due to this place. Bad customer service. My wife went in this morning to get our kids a Friday morning treat before school. There were two customers in line ahead of her and my wife was the third. The customer ahead of my wife ordered a dozen donuts and a few coffees. It took a bit longer than my wife anticipated (the customer and the owner chatted a bit, slowing the service somewhat) but that didn't bother her and she waited patiently for her turn. Before the owner completed the transaction my wife heard her ask the customer, who had come in after my wife, for their order. She completed that transaction then turned to my wife and asked what she wanted, however, before allowing my wife to answer she walked away to do something else. At that point my wife wanted to walk out of the store but she had our kids and did not want to disappoint them. To round it off they do not accept debit/credit card for purchases under $10. You have the option of purchasing more or using the ATM with additional fees. The owner charged my wife $5, for which she gave her $14.40 back in change. My wife can get hot tempered so she just shook her head and walked away. We will never go back and will let our family and friends know about the horrible customer service she received. read more

Terrible customer service. Donuts are just okay. Coffee is weak and not hot. I got a cold cup of coffee and the next time I came back they said only refund on day of purchase. Not to mention they are CASH ONLY, further proving that they are behind in the times and not willing to be capitalistic in their business. Good thing they are close to the police station because everyone enjoys a "decent donut" now and then. They don't even give out receipts, you have to ask for it. All of this over a cup of coffee. There may be rats in the back of this facility. Watch out y'all. Maybe this couple should try out TSA instead. read more

This place never disappoints! Their donuts always taste so fresh and I've been in at various times of the morning/noon and there were always great options. They bring the authentic dozen donuts style too if you want that fresh, cakey flavor with classic styles. The family that runs it is also very friendly and accommodating too. This donut shop is right across the street from our 5 year olds kindergarten so it's a no brainer that I'd find myself here daily lol. So much for my diet, I guess. Best donut shop in North County San Diego! I've been coming here since I was a kid, and the donuts have not changed. I really dislike eating donuts that feel very dense. That isn't the case with K-Donut. Every donut has this nice little crisp on the outside while the inside is so flaky and doughy, yet filled with air. It's like a taste of heaven with each bite The prices are fair. You can usually get a dozen donuts for about $10-$15 depending on what kind you get. They also throw in 1 or 2 free cake donuts with every 6 donuts you purchase. Score! Cash only! I believe they have an ATM inside, but it charges you a $3 transaction fee. Oh well, small business... they don't want the fees from credit card companies. Understandable. My only complaint (and I won't subtract from my star rating) is that the owners/bakers have gotten less friendly. They are still well-mannered, but just not as kind and welcoming as they were before. It's a bummer because it distracts from the amazing donut experience. These people have been working a long time and have to get up early everyday, okay, but still crack a smile every now and then maybe? Anyways, best donuts in town. Pretty good donuts at a reasonable price. Not as good as Chow's but then who was? Chow's set a standard that other donut makers can't seem to match. I miss them. K-donut is serviceable but falls short of the culinary excellence that was Chow's. Nice storefront; space is tight but very clean and well organized. The donut display is excellent with a great selection. The staff appears friendly and amicable to familiar patrons but not so warm to newcomers. All in all, not a bad choice. No regrets. read more

This place has been my most reliable donut shop since I moved from LA County. A very humble little store, owned by a little woman with a big heart for donuts! (She's hiring by the way) :) They open 4:00am everyday, and closes at one. This place has limited seating arrangements but it still can accommodate 10-12 people who would like to hang-out/gossips. I got a croissant today, but normally I order the regular chocolate glazed donut. Cronut (croissant/donut)? Yup they have it here too and only $1.95 compare to other store which sells 5bucks. I think it tasted better than the high priced one. They serve coffee, they have a cork board for local businesses to post for consumers/clients to use. I can call in an order and its always available when I get there. No to CreditCard or ATM So Bring Your Cash. No RESTROOMS. So what?! right?!? So Pee at Home! Lol Just come and visit this place.. Just the right size. So soft. Every type of donut. No gimmicks. These are the only donuts I ever bring to work (which is one excuse to go here). Also ham and cheese (if you want to pretend it is a meal) pastry and cream cheese. Also some sticky honey bran muffins. Beverages. I have never in my life had better donuts. Coffee is good, not great. I tend to add shot as I drink strong coffee. Coffee is never overcooked. Many choices. I've lived down the street for over 20 years and although I don't eat a lot of donuts apple fritter is my favorite. And they make it the same way they have for at least 20 years. We went down yesterday however being a holiday they were not open. They were open this morning and I'm finally getting my apple fritter fix. My wife is very picky when it comes to baked goods. We have lived in Escondido and know about (9th ave) Peterson's and Savoy and K Donuts is great! Possibly the best in north Oceanside so far. They are usually pretty busy so make your choice fast or someone else will snatch your donut! And get there early or you will miss out. Great glaze twists and old fashion!
