It was easy to make an appt. The living room in a leased home desperately needed the living room furniture steam cleaned. It was 2 years old but had been subject to dirt and 3 dogs during that time. It had a horrific smell and lots of short dog hair embedded in it. The only issue was my own lack of ability to assess approximate dimensions. Since it wasn't my home I didn't have access to a tape measure so we just guesstimated. They quoted us based on that. They have a specific formula they use to calculate cost based on size. We were able to schedule an appt 2 days later. Two gentlemen arrived as scheduled. They started unloading the equipment but we had 2other companies arriving so I had to ask them to move their truck and relocate the hoses. They did so right away with smiles and understanding-that I was already on overload just preparing and scheduling everything. (Personally-I haven't moved in over 30 years!-don't ask how I ended up being in charge. ) Anyway back to K&M. When the gentlemen took a look at the furniture they had to call the office as it was twice as large as expected. Of course they needed another approval to charge the new amount to my card. It was a little more than twice the estimate but I do understand this entertainment set of couches etc was massive. Very deep and very long! Bottom line- they did a fabulous job. No odor left-removed a monumental amount of hair and advised to get anymore they would have to manually remove it piece by piece which I didn't expect. They spent at least a couple-3hours working at it. I would and I will use them again! Thanks K&M!!! read more

They had the knowledge and ability to remove a permanent stain on a quartz countertop caused by an aloe vera plant. During the consultation, Ken let me know there there is a possibility that it will not work. I appreciated their honesty. Luckily, in my case their technique worked to remove the stain. This company has become really dishonest. Or maybe it's just Charlotte? Because this is our first issue in 10+ years... but it has been a wild ride. They will spend all this time on the phone with you to quote you but then when you prep your house for a carpet cleaning with your furniture all stacked up... and are in a vulnerable state, they won't honor that quote? My husband worked with Charlotte who quoted us $503 for our service (carpets, rug, 2 chairs, sectional). The workers arrived and said just one sectional, which we told Charlotte about, would be $600 minimum. Not including anything else. When I told the worker that Charlotte quoted us less than that for the whole service, he called her and without her realizing I could hear their conversation, she confirmed the $503 price but then the worker said it was actually going to be $619? Charlotte initially quoted us much less if we just did the carpets, rug, and chairs. But then the worker told us it would be $395. And when we told them we wouldn't pay more than they quoted us, Charlotte told us she'd charge our card a $125 cancelation fee if we don't keep the service at the increased price. Talk about a scam. Honestly, go anywhere else. You might pay more... but they don't honor their quotes anyway, so it'll all end up the same. Also, Charlotte called my husband and threatened him with a lawsuit because of my review. She said she had a recording of our conversation that "proves" we are lying. But does she know her worker put her on speaker so I was able to hear the truth? read more

Wow what an experience...got a couch from west elm. We were so excited to get it cleaned and did with K&M! After cleaning - there is a neon green stain out of nowhere. "oh that happens - it will come up" - the cleaner. After trying to reach the owner Ken for a couple days he finally calls back and was extremely hostile. He said that its our fault for not "knowing" our couch. Said that we should know there is something under there that would make this happen? He said they had over 36 years of experience yet knew this would happen? Makes no sense. He continued to say "I know youre a young girl and you dont get it..." to my fiance. He hung up on us! Please stay away from this company. I am happy to tell you more about this experience if need be. read more

We had our dryer duct cleaned yesterday. They were super professional, got the job done, and were extremely personable and nice.

Will not use them again. Both rugs are less than one year old and came back in poor shape.. no shoes allowed in my house and my dog is a toy breed. original stain was treated but many more stains were created during the cleaning process. One rug is completely ruined due to discoloration caused by the cleaning detergent ( it was white, now it's dusty tan). The other rug returned with black stains on the edges and long yellow lines in the middle and a shoe print on the back of it ( also white rug). I just waisted $3,300 rugs price plus $514 cleaning charges. Not to mention that both rugs took almost a month from the pickup day to the drop off (over the phone they told me it will take one to two weeks max). They have a nice team but the quality of cleaning is poor. If you have expensive rugs then this is not the right place. read more

Horrible experience. I booked a carpet cleaning service for a move out. They were eager to book and take my credit card information. Once that happened, everything went downhill. The day of service, I took the day off work to accommodate their 4-hour window and I also sent my dogs to daycare. My window was from 2-6. At 2:45, I sent a text asking if they had an estimate of time. I got a response 40 min later stating they will most likely be there in the later half of the window. I asked if I would get a notification when they are in their way as I was sitting in an empty house and wanted to get some lunch. Long story short, no response. I then called at 5:45 to find out the status and was told that they were having issues with their truck as an employee of theirs was steeling lug nuts and caused them to lose a tire. In the meantime, they were stuck at the job prior to mine and it would be awhile before they could get to me. This was almost 6:00! No communication whatsoever. They offered me a 10% discount if I wanted to wait for them with no estimate of time. Needless to say, I canceled. A wasted a day off work and sending dogs to daycare! Extremely unprofessional and non responsive. I also explained that if I had gotten communication, I would have been happy to reschedule. The young man on the phone had lots of excuses for their poor customer service. There is no excuse for this lack of communication. A simple text or phone call would have gone a long way. read more

I have been using K&M for several years. I've been satisfied enough to keep using them, but it's always been a trade-off between value and convenience. Scheduling is always an issue. They start the day mostly on-track, but as the day progresses, so do the likely delays. You would think that a four-hour window should be makeable (though inconvenient to me), but the last time they didn't even make it by 9PM. They did call with apologies and promises to promptly reschedule me, but it never happened. But if money is more important than your time, they do offer some good deals. But make sure that you do your research and select and book a coupon deal when you schedule. If you wait until they arrive, you lose your advantage; they are good at upselling. As for the carpet cleaning itself, they do a good job; courteous and thorough. I've found that your satisfaction has more to do with what you give them to work with and your expectations. After all, it is just carpet cleaning. read more

K&M steam cleaned two carpeted rooms this past weekend. Took a little over 30 mins from start to finish. Both workers wore masks and maintained distance. The rates were the best I received from calling various cleaners. They had next day cleaning at same prices but we choose to wait as we weren't ready to clean/move furniture by next day. Service over the phone was excellent, Brittany responded clearly to all our enquires and was very patient with us. With that said, I have steam cleaned my carpets before and have had a better overall experience with a different company. The other company was more generous in working with furniture in the rooms, moving them as needed (except bed). The other company never asked us to vacuum the rooms prior to their visit as K&M did. However, they were also 35% more expensive than K&M so have to consider the price difference. It also took double the estimated time for the carpets to dry. It was a muggy day though so that might have impacted the drying time. Despite that, I would still highly recommend and continue to use K&M for unfurnished or lightly furnished rooms. read more
