Two floors with the main floor having tons of bar stools, Tabes and a lower nook area with a larger table and some couches. Upstairs offers a long community table with window lounge seating bright and even whimsical with a lovely floor to ceiling book case. Menu offers snacks, small bites and more substantial meal options. They also do a happy hour special beginning at 4! I opted for a dirty chai (5/5) and scrambled egg and cheddar sandwich (5/5) both were delish! Appreciated the side salad as well! If you're looking for a spot to work, meet a friend or enjoy some time to your self reading a book definitely check it out. Staff is friendly, noise is reasonable and not disruptive, space is bright and open. Free WiFi. Plenty of places nearby if you wanted to try another spot for food. The only bummer is the Parking. There is street or nearby parking lot but street parking was full even at 9:30 AM the lot is covered but $5 for 2 hours and up from there.

I especially appreciated how everything tasted fresh yet comforting at the same time. The service was warm and attentive without being overwhelming, which made me feel really relaxed and taken care of. And the ambiance? Just the right balance of cozy and charming--I could've easily stayed much longer. This is definitely the kind of place I'd come back to, whether for a quiet solo moment or to share with friends. It just has that effortless, welcoming vibe that makes you want to linger a little longer

I stopped in here to kill some time before heading to Newark Penn Station (it's just a five min…read morewalk). Omg the cutest coffee shop and restaurant. Front of the house is more restaurant but in the back is a library/sitting area where you can read a book you brought or one that they have available (see pics). I had a cafe con leche and it was perfect as it came. Also I had the shashuka. I don't eat runny eggs but they kindly scrambled my eggs. The tomato sauce was delicious and it comes with bread. I also got a side of bacon. The staff is really nice and I was able to sit and read. If you are ever looking for a really accessible spot near the train station to eat definitely stop here.

My husband ordered a hot chocolate with oat milk, rich and comforting, and my mom had a chai with oat milk. She enjoyed the flavor overall. Food-wise, my husband ordered the chorizo omelette and was very happy with it--hearty, well-seasoned, and satisfying. I had the salmon salad, which was delicious. The dressing was balanced and flavorful, the greens fresh, and the salmon was cooked and seasoned really well. I will note that the salmon portion was a bit smaller than what I'd seen in some Yelp photos, but the quality absolutely made up for it. My mom had the club sandwich, which was generously sized and filling. She also wasn't a fan of the soft-boiled egg that came with her dish, but that's more a personal preference--she's firmly in the "well-done only" camp. Our little one had eggs and fries and was clearly living her best life. A sweet highlight of the visit was when the owner kindly gave her a cookie on the house--such a small gesture, but it really made the experience feel warm and personal. The space itself feels like a true community gathering spot--comfortable, welcoming, and easy to settle into. It's a great place to work or linger, with free WiFi and a relaxed atmosphere that invites you to stay awhile. Overall, this spot feels cozy, thoughtfully run, and rooted in care. The food is well-prepared, the flavors are intentional, and the hospitality really stands out. We'd absolutely come back for brunch and a longer stay next time.

The ambiance is cheerful and inviting, it transported us to a warm island day for our brief stay. It seems there was only one barista working that day and she was very helpful, patient, and friendly. My husband ordered the Cremas Latte and oh my god I wish I got it, it was so delicious; creamy, flavorful and sweet. I ordered the iced toasted almond "hot" chocolate, it was a very rich dark chocolate taste with the amaretto flavor coming through nicely. It was not overly sweet which I enjoyed. I think this is how hot chocolate was meant to taste and I'll be curious to try it hot. I also appreciated that there was some of my drink that didn't fit in the cup, so the barista gave it to me in another cup. My son ordered a Golden Mango Smoothie- he loved it! I love that it has turmeric in it, I felt good letting him have this drink. We also got some snacks. We ordered the Haitian beef patties which were very authentic. You get two per order which was a nice surprise. My son wanted to eat all 4 from our two orders. We also ordered a mini chocolate cake which was decadent and moist and a mini key lime pie which was refreshing and delicious! It was really nice being able to go to a Haitian cafe. My husband and son are Haitian and we enjoyed teaching our son about his culture while he can enjoy treats made with imported Haitian ingredients and recipes. He also enjoyed looking at the art work which prompted him to ask my husband more questions. I only wish there was better parking, especially for us out-of-towners, but I know that is hard in a city.

The guy at the register, chris was very friendly and knew about all the products and coffees at the shop. He recommended Salem's blend latte which pretty good. I'll def stop by again to see what they offer for the holidays. I'm actually surprised about the negative review and it seems like it's the same person under a different name. I guess they have the patience to wait and see these creatures lol that's unfortunate though, because it's definitely a shop worth visiting and supporting a local business. Best of luck to the owners and I'll swing by for the next flavor!
