Mathew and his team has replaced the the roof on my primary residence in South Park Hill as well as that of a rental property we own in North Park Hill. Our historic property in South Park Hill included the primary house roof, as well as our 920 square foot carriage house roof. The North PH house is a historic single story bungalow. Despite the presence of older, prexisting damage to the roofing, Mathew was able to negotiate with our claims adjuster for a comprehensive and thorough roof repair for all three roofs. Mathew walked with the adjuster and showed him all the roof damage (both the old and new). He was able to skillfully bolster the argument for approval of total roof replacement, but he also advocated for other necessary upgrades, including new decking, a high quality synthetic underlayment, and importantly, the Class 4 Impact Resistant Shingles, at no additional cost. The main roof on the South PH property had complex framing with hips, valleys, and dormers, as well numerous penetrations, and multiple chimneys. These required exact and intricate cuts to align everything properly. The total roof tear-off and replacement exposed a number of hidden issues with framing, decking, and water damage. The service at the time was incredible and the job completed was beyond satisfactory. It's a shame that contractor left, because my experience with this company has been beyond despicable ever since. I used HomeGuard to replace my roof after a hail storm. We have solar panels on our house and part of my contract with HomeGuard stated that they would pay for the cost of the removal and reinstall of the solar panels (about a $3,500 total cost). Over a year later, I get notice from a collections agency that I owe my solar panel company about $1,800. I do a little digging and discover that HomeGuard paid for the cost of the removal of the solar panels, but never paid for the cost of the reinstall. It took me more than 6 weeks after receiving this notice for me to finally reach someone at HomeGuard. That included calling multiple times on a weekly basis, several comments on the website, and multiple voicemails. When I finally reached someone (Stephanie), she sounded apologetic and asked me to provide a copy of my original contract and she would get that taken care of (it's anyone's guess why they didn't have this on file). Stephanie advised me to contact her directly concerning the issue from there on out. I sent her the contract within minutes of talking with her but didn't receive a response. I moved on assuming the issue had been resolved. Flash forward to about two months later when I get a notice that I have taken a hit to my credit due to this issue not being cleared with the collections agency. A little more digging and I confirm that the remaining balance was never paid even after Stephanie said she would take care of it. After another few weeks and multiple attempts at contacting Stephanie (again with no response), I threaten to post negative reviews and publicly advise no one to ever use this company. Surprise, surprise, Stephanie responds within a matter of minutes and asks me to send her an invoice for the remaining payment. I contact my solar panel company and get them to provide an invoice. Stephanie responds and says that the issue has been "elevated to management." That was over a month ago, and I just received another call from the collections agency that the balance STILL has not been paid and confirmed this with my solar panel company. I have contacted Stephanie (again) and have yet to receive a response. Since apparently HomeGuard will only respond to negativity, hopefully this review will help light a fire under their butts to resolve this. Let this be a lesson that if there are any issues in your experience with HomeGuard, they CANNOT be trusted to resolve them in a timely, professional manner. I would absolutely advise anyone looking for roofing services to avoid HomeGuard.

There were no structural issues with the roof and it is in excellent condition to my knowledge. The roof will likely be structurally sound for another 50 years. The Golden Sky Roofing inspector apparently noticed some cracked tiles, likely from someone walking on the roof, that do not impact the structural integrity of the roof. I believe it only impacts the cosmetics of the roof and there are spare tiles for such minor repairs. Golden Sky Roofing said the price estimate is $167,650.00...yes, you read that right, $167,650.00 because of some cosmetic cracks on the roof tiles. I have attached the estimate. Golden Sky Roofing even wants to replace the gutter system which is in excellent condition. Why would a roofing inspector provide such an outrageous price quote? You decide the answer, I think I know and will never have this roofing company anywhere close to my house.

But dealing with natural calamity related damage i.e. Hail Damage related repairs can be tough and mind boggling for any homeowner, especially if they don't know what to deal with. In August 2021 our home was affected by a hailstorm and our roof was heavily damaged. We had the opportunity to talk to quite a few Roofing companies and we ended up going with Golden Sky Roofing Company. The reason behind this is because the owner of the company, Rob Clement, was very thorough in explaining every single step. Didn't try to over-sell me anything, explained every single material and things that needed to be replaced very well. Well you might ask what's the difference, all the roofers would tell you the same thing. Well there are couple of things that stood out when I spoke to him and those are: 1. By the time my insurance approved everything, it was the middle of the winter! And Rob said that it's better to wait until the weather is warmer because then the shingles would stick to the roof well and would cure way better. So we waited and got our roof replaced in Spring. Also I've seen in my neighborhood, a couple of the houses replaced their roofing in the middle of the cold winter and as a result when there was a windstorm those roofs lost the shingle whereas these shingles are rated to survive 100+ miles per hour windstorms. 2. Constant communication throughout the whole process. 3. This part is my favorite, Level of Customer Service, when his crew were installing my roof, Rob made sure to go and talk to both of my neighbors and ensure proper cleanup was done on my neighbors property if there was any debris on their property. All the Roofers would clean up the neighbors' property but it's the attention to detail and making sure my neighbors were not unhappy really impressed me. So I would highly recommend Golden Sky Roofing to anyone who is looking to get their roof fixed.
