Build Your Own Salad

Solid bowl! I created my own bowl - brown rice, chicken, bell peppers, buffalo cauliflower, and roasted sweet potatoes with Spicy Avocado dressing. It was a solid bowl with protein, carbs, and vegetables. The buffalo cauliflower was by far the most flavorful. The chicken also was pretty juicy, not dry. The chicken noodle soup was also solid. I like the big and short noodles that were in it. Service was fast as it is chipotle style. It was at a location that has building construction, so they have a banner on the outside.

I typically go for creating my own salad so I can get all the ingredients that I prefer. All of their ingredients are actually pretty good quality. I typically go for corn, carrot edamame slaw, chickpeas, and any of their meats. I've tried about all of their meats and they're all great (like their pulled pork carnitas, chicken shawarma, chicken barbacoa). They also have lots of dressings to choose from. Definitely one of the better flavored & quality salads that I've had.

This place is conveniently located across the street from our NYC office, so I've visited well over 30 times. It's really hit or miss... The ingredients change seasonally, they have reusable bowls that save you some money and are good for the environment, the staff are friendly & the line moves quickly during peak lunch hours, but it gets pretty crowded and no two custom salads (even with exactly the same ingredients) are ever priced the same. I literally can never figure out why my salad costs as much or as little as it does. But, I'm glad that this place is here, as it's a great, healthy, convenient option for my 15 minute lunch grab.

This is the main reason why I get food from here every once in a blue moon, like when they offer the buy one get one free special. That's when I really take advantage. The unique seating area is charming, though limited, and don't get me wrong, the wraps that I've tried so far were delicious! They're just not $14 - $17 delicious lol. The staff here are friendly and seem cool. They make the wraps right in front of you and it's quite a cool process to watch. Each wrap is made from a homemade dough, heated on a hot iron dome and then filled with fresh and one of a kind ingredients. All of the wraps are rich with antioxidants and made with natural ingredients. My favorites: Dire Wolf (fried chicken wrapped in ginger dough, lamb bacon, melted cheddar, green papaya slaw, spicy pickled shika peppers, wolf ketchup) The Beast (grilled steak wrapped in turmeric dough, bbq crunch, blue cheese, marinated green olives, cilantro, red chili mayo) They have opened several locations over the years since I first tried them. Because of their unique wrap concept I can understand why. There's definitely a niche for them in this super tough NYC restaurant business.

Sunny and Annie's - Biden Sandwich on a hero

Sunny and Annie's

((4.5 stars)) Sunny…read moreand Annie's is very much a 24/7 neighborhood gem of a corner store and deli. it's packed with packaged foods--candy, chips, cookies, ice cream, soft drinks, beer, and a lot more plus the deli counter serves ups an endless list of creative sandwiches. i am not going to say this place is cramped but it kinda is. for example, if people stand in the wrong areas of the store, it will cause a complete standstill of a traffic jam in the store. my advice: order from the deli (and stand somewhere people aren't trying to get to) or grab whatever you need, pay, and leave. this place is not a place to linger. keep it moving. anyway, the obvious draw of Sunny & Annie's is the endless list of sandwiches that are handwritten cards that are stuck outside glass of the deli counter. there is literally something for the pickiest eaters--from hot sandwiches, cold sandwiches, wraps, and more. some sandwiches are named celebrities, politicians, etc. i have ordered a bunch of different sandwiches and have not made it through much of the menu. you can also create your own Frankenstein monster of a sandwich. while the sandwiches are a big part of the draw, the insane amount of snack foods crammed into the store is quite remarkable from the large stand of Doritos, Takis, Cheetos and other popular branded snack foods in the front to the separate stand of Wise snacks to an entire back corner of the store filled with all kinds of chips, popcorn, etc. imo, Sunny's has the freshest-tasting Smartfood Cheddar Popcorn. i know an insane take consider it's a packaged popcorn snack from a megacorp (PepsiCo), but i'll die on this hill. maybe it's cause Sunny's sells a lot of Smartfood popcorn so it gets refreshed often, maybe they have a secret in/pipelinbe from the factory, or it's just magic/alchemy. i don't know, but the Smartfood Cheddar Popcorn never tastes stale-ish like it does at grocery stores, the bags never feel deflated because they have been on shelf long, and the popcorn never has that soft mouthy feel but still has the crunch to it. maybe it's just me, but Sunny's serves a great list of sandwiches...AND the freshest Smartfood Cheddar Popcorn. beyond the snacks, the service from the deli to cashier is upbeat and friendly. in all seriousness, Sunny and Annie's is an Avenue B institution at this point and remains a charming family-owned store--and is NOT a sterile modern clone of a neighborhood business.

Huge sandwiches. Would recommend eating on a roll vs a wrap only because a wrap falls apart more…read moreeasily. Lots of flavors going on. Expected there to be a more accurate pho-palette, but the fusion is fun and appetizing nonetheless.

I was actually looking…read morefor a good Mediterranean restaurant and this popped up Google also has this as a Mediterranean restaurant., but I'm not really sure if it is .. this look like a rap salad sandwich place with less of Mediterranean and more of healthy food.. service could be better.. the guy making the wrap was also taking orders and hence was less interested in answering questions.. The place itself was small inside to sit and eat . They just had two small chairs and there's no way you're sitting there and eating amongst so many other people waiting for their order.. It's mostly a takeout place which I did not know... the wrap was ready in. 5 mins , which was good :) Food tasted great though.. I had to go through the whole menu and look at the description of every menu item to order. I finally ordered a once in a blue moon wrap, and it was really good... The rap itself was super special as they made fresh from the dough... they had turmeric wrap, and a few others which I've never tasted before.. .. overall a good experience... 4 stars

We grabbed the Underworld and the Wolverine (special). The latter was definitely my favorite and I really enjoyed the turmeric wrap. The process of them putting dough into the press to make a wrap is a skosh gimmicky but I don't even mind it. I really also enjoyed the egg addition to this wrap. The Underworld was also pretty good and I would probably have this in my rotation. I do feel like things sound a bit better than they ended up being. Also, the prices are high but the portions are huge, so whether you make this into two meals to justify the price is another decision. They do have some other sauces you can add on at your leisure which we enjoyed. The place isn't so big to eat in but no one else was eating in when we went, which was clutch. As a result the service was super quick.
