Interior of Hudson St juice press store Lots of seating, natural light, aircon

This is a review for takeout experiences at this Juice Press location (Hudson St, Manhattan). All views expressed are my honest opinion. Overall: 4.5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 - clean, spacious, wifi, and natural light Value: 3/5 Food: 5/5 TL;DR: Solid juice spot, especially if you're looking for meal replacement options (i.e. protein smoothies / açai bowls). Lots of indoor & outdoor (weather dependent) seating. Great location & fine service. ----- I'm consistently puzzled by the low reviews for this particular Juice Press location; then I realized that a lot of the people who post reviews don't double check the address of the business before they review. This is my usual Juice Press location for my lunch meal replacement smoothie. I like this location because 1) the people working here are very nice and super courteous 2) the smoothies are consistently flavored, and 3) the location is great for a lunch meet-up given ample indoor and outdoor seating My go-to smoothie is the Clean Green. I add additional protein on days when I work out. It's enough for me to replace a meal - honestly, if I were to eat this many calories, I'd be spending more $. This is why I'm not bothered by the price point. ----- There's 1 thing Juice Press can do better: The Juice Press online ordering system sucks. I could not pre-order a "large" smoothie in there - I could only order a "regular" sized one. This is frustrating because I personally would prefer to order online, then pick up in person - however, because I want the large size I HAVE TO go in-person to get it. I could order via Seamless/Grubhub to get the "large" size, but I didn't want to undercut the business by going 3rd party. Juice Press - fix your online ordering system please.

Used to be a loyal fan of Juice Press. But my last experience at Juice Press made me to decide choose other places moving forward. I was treated without respect. Simply because I ask a few questions about the drink ingredient and how it tastes. Disappointed.

I stopped here in the morning for a Rituals offer - either a green juice or a vanilla protein smoothie for $1. I opted for a vanilla protein smoothie, which is supposed to have 23g of plant protein at 370 calories. I don't usually have breakfast but wanted something to hold me over for the better part of the day, and this was a great substitute. It's almost 1p and I'm still full from the smoothie I had at 9:30a. The ingredients include bananas, vanilla, almond butter, almond milk, hemp seed, cinnamon, and the protein. It comes with a free booster but I didn't add anything because I wasn't sure what the taste would be like but I can see it going well with a cold brew base. I liked the drink overall but in terms of consistency, it was way too thick. I had a hard time drinking it, and it would have been nice if it had a little more milk to thin it out. As a side note, the raw oatmeal here is also really good and I highly recommend it! I'm sure the majority products here are great, but it's hard to justify the price points (16oz drinks are $10)

The Summary: Atmosphere - 5/5 Neighborhood - 3/5 Food - N/A Drinks - 5/5 Inclusivity - 4/5 Experience - 4/5 The Story: Stopped by quickly for a smoothie and left extremely pleased. The staff was nice, the space was clean and welcoming for groups looking to work or study, and my drink was delicious! I had a strawberry banana smoothie - it was just what I was looking for, but I could have easily paid less than $10 for a similar experience. Come here if you're looking for higher-end products and a place to work/spend a few hours. But, if you're looking for a quick fix as I was, perhaps try somewhere else.

There's not much negative things to say about Juice Press. If you're looking to eat healthy, this is your spot. Mostly everything in the store (if not everything) is USDA Organic, Kosher, non processed, etc. etc., also knows as HEALTHY. Today I had the Acai Blueberry Bowl. It is acai, blueberry, banana, coconut, nectar, maple, and granola. It was delicious, and made me feel full even though I didn't eat that much! However, I cannot justify the pricing of this place. I paid $11 for this bowl. The juices range from $6-$13. To be 100% honest, I could use the money spent on purchasing my own foods from the supermarket and making the stuff myself. But I guess the convenience is what you're paying for! Which for someone who works in the area, and usually only has a few minutes to grab some quick food, I guess it might be worth it - at least for the health side.

Why don't I come here every day? Fresh juices, clean food, excellently refreshing cold brewed coffee. The reason I don't come every day is the prices (ouch) - it's pretty expensive for what it is (food to go) / apart from that, ticks all the right boxes if you're looking to eat and drink 'clean'

About as fresh as it can be. It's about $5 to get the cheapest sandwiches. The last time here they had the Spicy Seitan Wrap. Also they have a salad bar with all kinds of things you can put into a container. They have proteins including chicken and tempeh. Has quite a lot for a locally owned grocery. It's pretty okay as far as prices, because while it's not always cheap, there's also freshness and quality. The store has tons of items for vegans and vegetarians.

I agree with other some other reviewers that the people who work there - cashiers aside who are usually very nice - can be rude and aggressive. Somehow many, not all, of the workers/managers could care less about customers versus their task at hand. The result is lack of respect that manifests in intrusive behaviors such as bumping into customers without apologizing, not moving to let customers navigate the narrow aisles and yelling/pointing while directing another worker while customer is literally right there which is akin to invading personal space. The concern is if the store's history and future potential becomes overshadowed by obnoxious behaviors and lose too many customers, over time, to stay afloat. I'm not yet ready to bail but am getting close, unfortunately, esp given alternative markets and/or online options for the same products.
