It is hard to find good bone broths but Springbone has nailed it! I loved their immunity broth and classic beef broth--they are both incredible. Had them as-is without any additions and they are fantastic. I have had their bowls (love how customizable they are) but I really appreciate that you could get their proteins on their own and it is a good portion. Tried their new "Springy" fast food 'storefront' on DoorDash and sadly didn't really like it, which is too bad considering they use clean / high quality ingredients. I got the grilled cheese and paid a little extra to sub it to cheddar rather than the American it comes with by default. It still tasted like American, though; not sure if they didn't follow the instructions or if it's just a super mild cheddar. I did like that the grilled cheese had some crispy cheese on the outside, and I would've never known it was gluten-free bread. My experience and knowledge of soups is embarrassingly limited and up until adulthood was completely dominated by Campbell's Chicken Noodle Soup. I know. We all have our crosses to bear. Since I wasn't too hungry, this seemed like an ideal stop for a light Friday lunch yesterday. Springbone is probably about two blocks from where I work, and I've passed it quite a few times on my adventures. I've noticed customers outside utilizing the to-go window before, so it wasn't surprising to me upon entering that this is pretty much exclusively a to-go crowd. The counter/kitchen area is separated from the small waiting area by a rustic white wooden partition-like structure; very pleasing to the eye. Let me start with the overwhelming positive here - the bone broth was sensational. The bar wasn't too high for me (see prior paragraph), but I was blown away by the Liquid Gold bone broth. Perfect name. Just delicious and ideal for an overcast, slightly nippy fall day. If I were sick, I'd probably do nothing but drink this. It was like a life-affirming elixir that tasted like Thanksgiving. I don't think in good conscience I could ever go back to Campbell's. The herbs and vegetables they use to season the broth are flavorful, and thankfully there's nothing actually IN the broth - I have a texture-based palate for the most part, so I'm super leery of having to chew and/or eat my soup. I don't know how they figured out that including coconut milk was a good idea, but I tip my cap to them. It adds a smoothness to the broth that, again, sets it apart from mainstream, regular soups. I wasn't expecting this somehow, but it's packaged basically in a to-go coffee cup, so you can easily sip it in the street if you want. I noticed quite a few reviews mentioned that this place was overpriced, but I thought $6 or $7 for what I had was fine. That's, what, 3 times more than a can of soup in the supermarket? And probably 3 times better, so I'm not sure there's much of an argument to be made there. I also ordered avocado toast, which was about $8 or $9. This isn't specific just to Springbone, but I think I'm now officially done ordering avocado toast from pretty much anywhere. It's easy to make at home for a literal fraction of the cost, and it's actively starting to bother me that most avocado toast dishes now only come with one piece of bread. I'm positive that it was the norm to get two pieces as recently as two or three years ago. This toast was fine - it had kind of a Middle Eastern/ethnic flavoring to it (I'm guessing that's the za'atar spice referenced on the menu), but the selling point here by a considerable margin is the broth. The customer service left a slightly bad taste in my mouth, but your mileage may vary. When I stepped up to the register, the woman at the counter didn't seem to be in a great mood; she never smiled and just wasn't particularly pleasant. It happens - it could have just been timing, it could have had something to do with the fact that the world has been an absolute dumpster fire for several years, etc., but it didn't feel friendly in there at all. That sentiment was reaffirmed a few minutes later. The broth came out almost immediately, which makes sense given the minimal prep time required. It took another 10 minutes or so to get the avocado toast, which is fine. No issue with that, especially since the place seemed pretty busy. While I was waiting, I sat down at the little countertop that they have right next to the window looking out over the plaza toward Stone Street, which had two chairs and enough space to eat if needed. When the woman came over to give me the avocado toast, she told me I couldn't remain sitting there to eat because...part of my body was blocking key sections of the menu on the wall. What? That's a new one on me. Why on earth would you have a small, formal seating area with a tabletop if you can't eat there? And if the reason I was given was completely accurate (and I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt there), why would you put said formal seating area right next to and/or in front of the wall menu? I'd also point out that the menu has separately been placed on the doors coming in and is readily accessible online. So that dampened my enthusiasm for this place, which is a shame because up until then this was close to a perfect experience. The bone broth is amazing. This was probably the best time of year to discover it, and I'm glad I did. I'll be coming back, but you'd better believe I'm going to remain standing while I'm in there waiting for my Liquid Gold. read more

I'm confused why it has a 4 star review rating for its food. Maybe people just don't know what bone broth supposed to taste like. I ordered chicken classic broth. It's dark red and blend. Chicken broth that's red? What happened to that chicken? It didn't even taste like chicken broth. It tasted maybe like concentrated paprika dissolved in water with high amounts of sodium. The food was cold and lacking any flavor, the broth was so salty and also iced cold clearly it had been sitting there for a while-I'm shocked they would serve that to anyone. Love the items this place is offering I needed a coffee pick me up so I got the butter coffee. I'm all about the healthy fat for energy life so this definitely kept me satiated with a nice energy boost. Grass fed butter and MCT oil! I don't think they blended it though, which how I prefer my butter coffee- I'll have to request this next time They also have bone broth and boy do they have various flavorings for your liking. You can order ahead and pickup at the window. I'll be trying their bone broth soon... I make mine at home but I don't add flavorings like they offer so it'll be a nice change. A very clean and chic looking shop, it easily could be confused with a modern furniture store. It is not set up well for lines, but despite that the staff kept things moving. Relaxing instrumental music played in the background as you wait. Crowd: I kept seeing a long line here, and figured it was worth checking out. THIS PLACE IS AMAZING. I've been a huge Springbone fan ever since they opened their first spot on W. 3rd Street, and was so excited when they opened the Pearl St. location right! Prices are very reasonable (compared to neighboring fast-casual places that can charge up to $20 for just a salad alone) and bowls are all portioned generously and are incredibly filling - a real bang for your buck. I've tried almost every dish on the menu and most of the broths, and each one is better than the last.
