You can easily order ahead or if you order on site they are pretty quick, but do get pretty busy during peak lunch time...I try to avoid those times and either go earlier or later. Recently picked up a dinner on the way home with Too Good To Go. Cesar was very efficient and loved that he asked if I had any allergies. He crafted an amazing bowl of randomness filled with different proteins, veggies, and rice. Also got their seasonal soup which happened to be broccoli cheese this day. I've tried a few items, some I love and others are meh. Right now I am LOVING their Peruvian chicken bowl and protein power salad. I will say, it gets busy as HELL during lunch hour. Sweetgreens is better. I ordered their Forager's warm bowl and it just didn't taste as balance as it should. There were way too many tomatoes and tofu pieces and not enough kale or goat cheese. And this is coming from someone who loves tofu. It was filling, but I didn't enjoy it. Sweetgreens is expensive, but I feel like they really put their heart and soul into it and all of the ingredients always balance. I have been to Just Salad about 5 or 6 times and I'm in and out and the staff is fast, friendly and I'm out the door in as fast as I came in. I love being able to add a couple ingredients with my reusable bowl, to customize my salad from their great recipes. They have the calorie counts on the menu so you can make a healthy decision. As a Californian, I have to say that I am jealous of Chicagoans for having this awesome place for lunch all over the place. You can build your own salad, Subway style, or pick one of their pre-arranged salads. They even have some quick take-away options. I had the Chicken Shawarma Salad - for $11.50, it was a generous bowl of chopped romaine and shredded red cabbage, lots of chicken shawarma chunks (that were warm), feta cheese, chickpeas, Kalamata olives and cucumbers in a creamy yogurt herb dressing. It was protein packed, super fresh and absolutely delicious. While my salad wasn't exactly tossed, I could get the good stuff from the middle and mix it with the greens. The staff is efficient, and there are plenty of them. They are definitely working on getting people through the door. They aren't the friendliest group of gals, but they get the job done. Visited Just Salad on 8/7. About 2/3 of the way through my Buffalo Chicken Salad I discovered two pieces of soggy, wet cardboard. Needless to say I lost my appetite pretty quickly. I contacted Just Salad customer service the same day with a picture of my partially eaten salad with the cardboard pieces. Five days later I still have not received a response. In an era where a business's success is greatly supported by customer service response and action, this is pretty disappointing. If you take something away from this review, know this: they are churning out hundreds of salads at lightening speed during the lunch rush, so it's best to inspect your salad before you eat it. I'm a huge fan of Just Salad. The prices are a little steep but they have a ridiculous variety of ingredients to choose from and use local/organic ingredients. I also love that they have a reusable bowl you can get for $1. My favorite thing to get is the buffalo chicken salad as a wrap (I get white cheddar instead of pepperjack). Main reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is a combo of the higher prices and the lack of seating the in store. Great for a grab and go meal though. read more

I ordered the pre made salad Tulum and had chicken added to it. The order taker said we may not have chicken. Uh okay. It was not even noon yet. It's right across the street from the Club. I stopped in after walking around Lakefront and the park. I ordered the thai chicken salad. One thing that was a turn off was the chick that said hello and started yelling to another person in the back, who came up and started helping me. The yeller was an odd one since she didn't seem to be doing much at the time. The girl that helped me was super sweet and did a great job making my salad. When I pulled out a stool to eat the yeller came out and said they were closing soon so I couldn't eat there. Okay, I got off the stool and started to pack up when sweet girl ran from the back and said I could stay it was fine. I said that's okay, my hotel is across the street. She was so nice and really tried to make me stay and eat. I really liked her. Interestingly, the yeller was featured on one of the pictures by the establishment, smiling and handing off a salad. I stopped into Just Salad for lunch on a weekday and enjoyed the meal. Décor: This is a brand new location that just opened so, as you can imagine, it is very clean and in great condition. The front windows let in plenty of natural light and everything about it just seems so inviting and health (I know, how does the physical appearance of a place make it seem healthy? I don't know, but it does). There really isn't anywhere to sit, well maybe a few seats along the window, so it's mostly grab and go. Also, I've heard the line gets LONG during lunch but I went a bit early and beat the rush. The menu is pretty clearly laid out above the counter and you can see everything as they prepare it. Plus, things move along quickly. Bathroom: unknown Staff: Everyone was nice and friendly and helpful to n00bs like myself. There is a girl pre-filling out your order sheet to help speed things up as well so that's a nice touch. Also, the cashier could tell from my aimless wandering after I paid that I couldn't find the forks... she personally handed me one. Great service! Food: I choose one of the pre-made salads with the recommended dressing and was very please. Everything tasted fresh and not old/wilted. I had the Thai Chicken (or something) and it was very tasty. A great touch is that they let you determine how much dressing to put on - I particularly like this b/c I tend to prefer a bit extra on my salads. Also, the serving size is pretty decent. I'm not going to say I was stuffed but I wasn't really hungry after I finished. Value: The price is right given the serving size, food quality, and level of service! Great bang for your buck here. I've been twice. The first time was okay, but today was bad. I had a sweet craving so I opted for just a Peanut Butter Warrior smoothie. The line for salad was long and I wasn't sure where to place my order, so I placed it with the person taking salad orders. She told me I should just go straight to the register & then she yelled out the shake order so that the crew could get started. Either nobody heard her (she was loud, but the place was bustling), or nobody cared. I waited in line for the register and was greeted by a female cashier that yelled "NEXT CUSTOMER!" with an award winning stone cold RBF (resting bitch face). I told her my order...she rolled her eyes like I had asked her to hand grind the peanuts into peanut butter with a mortar and pestle. She told the guy next to her who was busy making salads to make my smoothie & he did not acknowledge her command. Time went on, she rang up 5 more customers, and went back to make the smoothie herself with an air of annoyance and protest. Whatever she tossed into my hand when she came back looked like a half-filled cup of taupe colored ice with green specs. I had a different smoothie there before that was filled to the brim. I was pretty annoyed, but since the "cap" is a plastic sheath sealed onto the cup, and since the "person" who was "helping" me glared at me with eyes like daggers, and given the frenetic and hurried atmosphere, I didn't even want to bother to ask her where I might find the rest of my smoothie. I just wanted to scream "everyone needs to chill out!" and get out of there as quickly as possible before having an anxiety attack from the epic amount chaos and judgment swirling throughout that tiny storefront. In case you are wondering what it tasted like, I'll tell you. It tasted like ice with chunks of seeds and nuts. Barely a whisper of peanut butter or any of the other delicious ingredients that were supposedly in there. I'd rather go elsewhere. Two stars because the first time was okay. Customer experience & customer service need an overhaul here. Maybe use sage and get a blessing from a priest to clear that negativity. read more
