Went to get my nails done after quarantining for along time due to COVID and it was better than I expected . My nail tech was Christine and she was amazing!! She gave me her input on what color I should get and what kind of shape would look best on my hands . I'm in love! She was so professional and friendly!! So made me feel safe with sanitizing and cleaning every equipment before using it on me . I never felt like she was rushing through my mani or pedi . She then did my facial and waxing . Waxing was painless!!! Not to mention the shape of my eyebrows were amazing! Best it's ever been . Her facial made my face feeling soft and it was very relaxing! I never had luck with acrylic nails, but I wanted to get them for my prom. I came with a friend, and we were both serviced within 10 minutes. The price for acrylics is the lowest I've seen in the area (I paid $45 because I had one ombre nail on both hands, but their base price is $30 + tip), but the nails are of higher quality than other salons. The techs work very efficiently, too -- me and my friend spent around an hour and 15 min at the salon, whereas other salons would keep me there for two hours. Recently, I stopped at Just Nails on Bollinger Road, next to Safeway, and was quite pleased. Granted, it is not a fancy smancy salon, but I got exactly what I wanted, a nice, simple manicure. My nails had been damaged by gel and other supplies, so I'm letting my nails repair themselves and going for a manicure the way it used to be done. "Christine" was my manicurist and my nails are on their way to becoming healthy again. As the saying goes, "all that glitters isn't gold." A few days ago I stopped by Just Nails on Bollinger in San José. It was my first time at this salon and I called a few hours in advance to make sure they'd have a seat for me. The ladies working were all so very nice and had a good sense of humor. But I especially wanted to write about Christine! She did so good on my manicure and pedicure and I was so happy with her art at the end. I didn't know exactly what I wanted, but I had an idea in mind, and I showed her some photos of acrylic nails that were clear like glass and had flowers pressed inside. Christine was happy to get started, and used whatever flowers she happened to have leftover in the container. She was very gentle and thorough and talked to me a little bit but not too much. Very friendly and kind and kept her materials clean and organized. I was pleasantly surprised by the end result. Look at the pictures I attached! The blues, oranges, and pinks are so pretty and I love the coffin shape and medium length of the nails as well. This visit to the salon was a very special one to me. I was celebrating something wonderful happening in my life and these nails matched how I was feeling inside! I also got a very basic pedicure. Just some pretty lavender gel toenails. Although, I low key felt like the ladies were laughing a little extra when my feet came out my socks... it has been awhile since I'd had a pedicure so you can imagine how my feet looked, haha. My visit lasted a little less than two hours. She had started on me only a few minutes late, because she had been working on another client still. I think I spent around $85 total. Card is accepted for the visit payment, but please do tip the ladies in cash! I will definitely be back next time! And I highly recommend Just Nails to you all as well. Ask for Christine! read more

I went to Just Nails with my friend and we had pedis done. We had our legs rubbed with salt and massaged with hot stones. There was a large selection of Opi brand nail polish (which I love) We will definitely go back. I got shellac too and I just love it. The people working there are very attentive and OMG, the chairs actually massage AND recline. ***For the bad reviews below, please consider that this has just changed hands to NEW MANAGEMENT! This is my usual nail salon for my shellac manicures. I usually get a solid color but this time I wanted some extra designs on my thumbs. I told the manicurist what I wanted and she was unable to give something even close to what I described. It was impossible to communicate with her due to her lack of English. I could not understand her and tried to show her pictures online. Even with that, she was confused! At first I asked her to add some crystals to my thumbs. She did not understand that word so I had to show her online and she bought the box out. They had barely any choice at all! I did not like any of the crystals. Since I did not like the crystals, I asked her if she could paint some flowers. I told her I wanted a darker color flower to contrast with my pink shellac. She bought out pink and white and I kept telling her darker! She said no (no idea why). Anyways, I ended up with some weird white and pink flowers on top of my pink shellac. A total clash! Guaranteed to have a clipped toe, or torn cuticle. Not clean, the hygiene of the staff questionable. The inconsistencies, and the rude unqualified staff are overwhelming. This is not a relaxing place, customers are on their cell phones talking loudly because the owner doesn't know how to run the place. I have been coming here since 2005 and I used to love this place so much, but the last two times I came in my Shellac nails only lasted for 4 days and the pedicures have been horrible. My toe nails are not straight and the lady cut them so short that for 2 days I couldn't wear closed-toe shoes... The Shellac nails: color was good, but the nails were not even (one thumb was long and other short) then 4 nails started cracking... The ladies are sweet and I still tipped for the horrible job. I just hope they take the time to pay attention to detail and maybe I come back next time to see if anything has changed. read more

I once was a faithful customer of 3 years. Myself, and my mother. Unfortunately, loyalty means nothing to owner Thuy Unfortunately, appointments don't mean anything either (on multiple occasions) - wait 45 minutes while my mother gets her pedicure and I leave my feet sitting in cold water when we made the appointment to come TOGETHER. Not to finish 30 minutes apart. Tip of advice to management : DON'T OVERBOOK CLIENTS! It's okay to say you are busy and to provide a time you are available to take your customers in a timely manner. Also, the prices tend to change depending on the mood of staff and day of the week. I've came here enough times to see different clients pay different prices. Myself included... Ok I have to say I am an acrylic fan, but go through periods of manicures to let my nails breathe and heal. I have been consistent with T for almost a year because she understands precisely what I wanted from the first time I came. If you like acrylic nails she's your gal. Until today there were only two ladies that do them: T, Tina (who is also very good, a really good fill-in, no pun intended). However they now have a woman named "Mi-Mi" who I just fell in love with! Reluctantly I sat in her care as neither T nor Tina were here. Her attention to detail, speed, and technique is unmatched by any nail tech I've ever had. Seriously, she uses the machine that removes cuticles for shaping the tips of the nails that saves about 10 minutes of the process and she uses the UV to speed drying time of the powder saving again another 5-10 minutes! All pluses in my book! I only gave 4 because I've yet to see how my nails stand up to me and life over two weeks. read more

I live in Los Altos and went to at least 5 different nail salons in my neighborhood to get my nails done. My problem is my nails do not last very long (usually one week) although it is powder. Her salon is far from my house but since one of my friends who always has perfect nails with very stylish designs highly recommend Tina, I Idecided to go.Tina is not like a typical nailst who worked on me before. She is so skilled, so more like a craft-man! She is so precise and quick! I was so amazed to see how she put fake mails on my fingers and powdered on them. Her technique is very different from any of the nailists I have met. I am very happy to have nails done by Tina. I do not mind driving all the way to Santa Clara from Los Altos. It is completely worth it because she does much better job! Also her price is very reasonable. And the best part is my nails last much longer so I do not have to go to the salon all the time! If you want to be in a toxic enviroment and wait long minutes for a pedi or mani go there. This is my experience with Just Nails. I've been going there pre-covid. When opened up, they charged the same price for "portable' pedicure tub (those you buy at the store, yes you read it right). I did not care because I know them and wanted to support them. Christine is amazing at nails! Tina is great at anything in there (manis or pedis too) but there is this person who is absolutely rude and makes the environment very toxic. Her name is Mimi. I reasonably tipped her and she said it was too small! She even asked for MORE TIP! Who does she think she is when I am being kind giving a reasonably tip? oh! and she wanted the tip in cash!. I usually give a bigger tip when paying card than giving cash for tax purposes. I was still in disbelief that she asked for more tip. She always makes sure people are paying and giving tips even though she did now work with the client. It is a toxic and very unpleasant atmosphere. Tina and Christine are thankful no matter how much you tip them and what amount of tip you leave. I gave them one more chance despite this. Lucky me, sarcastically speaking got Mimi again! I called her sanitation. She was working on my pedi while getting cash from someone else (told you she likes it when they pay in cash and they won't give you a receipt either... money laundering, who knows!) and then she started working on my toes. I told her she needed to change gloves or wash her hands so she put new gloves. Why do I have to remind her? It is so annoying and makes the environment not pleasant AT ALL!!! Not to mention I always had been lucky since I did not have to wait long but I have seen how many people had waited a long time (30 min or more) not matter if you call and make an appointment they will NOT reserve it for you. In one occassion, a teenager was sat for a pedi and waited literally 30 min for someone to work on her. She was screaming saying she had online class but there was not enough personal. I do gel manicures and Tee (the owner) is the only person I like to do my hands. I've gone to other salons and my gel is chipping within ONE WEEK! No joke. Also, her prices are much more affordable than all of the other salons I've gone to. When I come to Tee, they last at least 2 weeks. She always takes her time (although she is quick and efficient anyways) and does a fabulous job. I've had pedicures done by other random people and have never had an issue. Went to this place for the first time. Asked how much the wait time is and the lady said 5 mins. Had to wait for more than over an hour to get started. Then the color that I chose wasn't available, so I picked another pink color. However they ended up putting wrong color. It took almost 2 hours to just get a pedicure done. Will never go there again. I walked into the salon with my mom to get a pedicure and a French manicure. The manicure was surprisingly cheap (at least that's what I thought when I walked in) for $8. The spa pedicure, however, is $25 for some extra massaging for five minutes, which is what my mom got. Right when I walked in, I could tell this was your typical nail salon--Vietnamese words being yelled out loud and several manicurists sitting in chairs and gossiping to each other with their eyes glued to the TV. The pedicure was okay, but the manicurist did a HORRIBLE job of filing my nails. The French manicure was even worse than the pedicure. My nails were so oddly shaped, and the white nail polish for the French manicure was all over my nails and shaped weirdly. Also, one of my cuticles was bleeding heavily, and the manicurist made no attempt to stop the bleeding. My pedicure took only ten minutes. Seriously?! I know for a fact that a pedicure takes at least half an hour. Maybe that's why my nails look messed up... The only plus I can think of about my experience is that Just Nails uses O.P.I instead of some cheap nail polish, and there are whole bunch of colors to choose from. But for the French manicure, the manicurist used some random brand. My French manicure lasted for two days before a nail started chipping, and my pedicure lasted one and a half weeks. read more

Just Nails is my favorite Nail Salon in the Bay Area. My Nail Technician is Christine. Christine is the best, I've been going to her for the past 2 years. I would never ever go to anyone else. She is so professional at her work, Christine takes her time with me ALWAYS, never rushes me and always makes me feel wonderful when I leave. She does extraordinary work. Her acrylic and dip skills are amazing. Her pedicures are outstanding and her facials are out of this world. The salon is ALWAYS CLEAN and very well organized! The owner is very professional and always appreciative of me coming in. All nail equipment is always sanitized and brand new. Prices are great, and truly get great service for what you pay for. Waited 30 mins just have any service done. They don't do a good job with the nails, my gel chipped off within a week when usually gel manicures last at least 3 weeks. I believe they overcharge in their waxing services for what you get, I've gone to other places where they did a much better job.
