Filthy!!!! The equipment was not sanitary or clean. When I asked for "new" they finally did bring something that looked it, but probably wasn't. I'm sure it wasn't because they started polishing with a dirty scrubber that used to be the color purple or blue, but had black dirty marks from being used on someone else!!! Pretty impressed by the customer service here. I came to this place for a gel manicure. The color they painted my nails with did not match the swatch color I picked. I was a little irritated when I compared the two at the end to show how different the colors were. This has happened to me before at other places and the manicurists usually brush me off or give me some crazy, made up explanation. To my surprise, they agreed with me and my manicurist buffed away the top layer of my original polish to repaint it. They were very apologetic and offered to fix it if I had further problems. Well - two days later my nails chipped because of all the layers of polish. I made an appt and expected them to fix my two chipped nails. Instead, she redid the whole manicure (at no cost). I didn't feel any resentment or annoyance from their end. I get the impression that they really care about customer satisfaction. read more

Came here on a whim while trying to find something to do. Made a quick call and there was availability on a lazy Saturday. This place is pretty much behind Starbucks around the corner in the small strip mall. Quiet but bright location with plenty of parking in this lot. The first thing I noticed was that their color selection was a little old and outdated, but they have a lot of reds to choose from. There weren't so many other colors like blues and purples and greens or neutrals. Most was OPI, but I've come to prefer Essie which they have very few. I had brought my own colors and decided to stick with something I knew I liked. Got a mani-pedi combo which was nice. I enjoyed the massage chair and everything was very clean. They did a good job on my pedicure, but not so much my manicure. It wasn't terrible or the worst I've had, but I could do a better job on my own. Overall it was very nice and accommodating. Anna's old school, but in a good way. She hand files. She doesn't use the drill...well, she did use the drill on me, but it was to get into areas on my nail that the file couldn't get to. I was fine with that. She took her time, but was quick as well. Sadly, what keeps this from being 5 stars is that she doesn't run on time. Went in at 10am for my appointment and wasn't seen until later...like close to half an hour later. Next time I will call to see if she's behind. It seems her regular customers are incapable of arriving at the exact time (or before) their appointment, so it throws everything out of sync. Bummer. I have tried this place 3 times now (hoping that it would feel better) but always felt that their pedicure was not good. The older lady who worked on me (recently) hardly did any scrubbing or massage. I still had cracks and callus after coming out from the salon. She also did not apply the second coat of nail paint nicely and it feels really uneven in places. The cuticles were not worked on either. Also the hour service was complete in 40 minutes including the drying of nail paint. read more

Anna and her staff are nothing short of fantastic. They are always pretty booked (because they are so great!) so most of the time you can call ahead and make an appointment. Anna speaks great English so it's easy to communicate. (5 stars for communication alone.) At annas, they are always going to pamper you. The pedicures are a full hour, and you get a scrub and a massage that isnt beating your legs with a fist, these people actually MASSAGE your legs. With a manicure instead of soaking in lukewarm water-- you soak in hot lotion. Its a treat. Anna's has an upscale clientele, so you never have the 100-count rush of 16 year olds going to prom and the girls who get sparkley pink and black tips and bring their small dog in a purse, although I'm sure you could get all of those pink and black things, if you wanted to. Anna's is quiet and serene, relaxing. They give you tea and candy (A+) Its right next to starbucks so you can grab a drink before your appointment. I definitely recommend Anna's over any nail salon. Try it out, you won't be disappointed. + You can also VISIBLY see where there sanitizing units are. You know your implements are clean since they are in sealed bags. I received a gift certificate from my work, my first time there went with my supervisor who goes all the time. Was looking forward to it. As I sat and picked a color they never offered me what services were available just assumed I was getting what my boss was getting. Which was a pedicure and a gel manicure. As I watched them scrub the others ladies heels and mine were barley scrubbed? My nails peeled off after one week? Never have I had a gel polish peel off.. Went in for them to fix they were not happy about it?? There was noone in there and they sat me down and rushed me out of there. This was my birthday gift, where is the customer service? As well as they did a half a** fix it job and said it was cause of my natural oils on my nails that made it chip. I was looking for customer service and a quality work, not excuses. The nail polish was uneven I mentioned it and still painted it over uneven. I always get my pedicures at Anna's and have never had a bad one. My French toes last at least a month, sometimes 6 weeks without chipping! It's $35 but that's not as much as pedicures I've had at other places that last 2 weeks. The salon is nicely decorated and everyone who works here is very nice. For $65 plus tip my gel polish shouldn't chip 1 1/2 weeks after my manicure, my heels were barely scrubbed and the polish on my toes is uneven. The girls working on my nails rushed out the door before my polish dried! I wasn't going to leave a review but now that my gel polish chipped I'm inspired to. I wasn't doing anything that should've caused my polish to chip. I've gotten a gel mani and pedi for $20 less and never had chips. Hands down the best nail salon I have ever been to! Anna, the owner, is very kind and speaks fluent English. She remembers you (even after you have been out of state for a whole year), and is genuine when she asks how you have been. The other ladies are very kind and skilled. They lavish you with compliments, and even bring you snacks and water! The salon is very clean, and they use a freshly sterilized and wrapped package of tools on each person. I had a great experience at Anna's Nails last week! I've been searching for a place that's clean, relaxing, thorough, and that does a great job on pedis and gel manicures. Some gel manicures I got at other places will start to bubble an peel within days. Others don't make the french manicure lines straight. And another crazy place use a Dremel tool to remove the old gel color, rather than soaking in acetone - scary! So I was on heightened alert when trying out a new place. I called a couple places on a Saturday morning, and Anna's could get me in right away (they open earlier than most). I zipped over there and was pleasantly surprised by the look of the place. It's in a nice shopping center with a Starbucks a few doors down. The inside looks, smells, and sounds like a spa. The nail techs looked professional, and honestly, the clientele was more upscale as well (myself included, of course) ;) They put me in the pedi chair right away, and brought me (1) a bottle of water (2) a cup of fresh fruit (3) a bag of nuts with M&Ms and (4) a granola type bar. Wow! That was certainly a first! Most places give you water if anything. Two girls alternated working on me. One was named Kim, but I don't remember the others' name. They did a thorough job on my pedi. They used an emery board to file the rough edges off my feet (seems safer than the razor that some places use). They trimmed my nails short as I requested. The water tub didn't have jets, but the pedi looked great. For my hands, they soaked cotton balls in acetone and placed them against my fingernails with foil to get the old gel off. This ended up being less effective, so it took a while, and required some scraping and sanding. Finally, when the nails were clean, they applied the gel french manicure. I liked that they used a pink background, as some places only use clear. For the tips, they painted them on free hand, so they weren't as straight as places that put on a thick line then smooth it out with polish remover. Still it looked really good unless you got really close. In the end, I was there for two hours, which was a tad longer than I would have preferred, but it was mainly because they did my mani/pedi back-to-back rather than at the same time. Maybe some people prefer a longer time, but I'm a busy mom. The cost came to $65, which was lower than the other random places I'd been to that weren't as nice. After a week, everything looks as great as the day I got it done. I will be back for sure! read more

I had been going to another nail salon for about a year. The person I had was good, but I was always being called to come in later, or sitting there for 20 minutes or more. Finally I had had enough and looked for another salon. I figured a little pricier one, would not do this to me. When I spoke to Anna, I told her what I had been going through and she said-oh we do not do this. When you have an appointment we take you on time. Well, I took this for about most of a year. It started out good. I must say they are not cheap! They are good-at least the girl I had-Kim was great! The problem is with the owner!! Anna. She either does not know how to schedule, or doesn't care if people have to wait. She thinks that because they are an ELITE shop and clean and in Saratoga, that people will wait for them. Maybe some will---for awhile! After awhile things started going downhill fast. She called me one day on the day of my appointment-mind you literally 10 minutes before I had to leave, and asked me to come in an hour later because she forgot to forward the appointment to Kim's book. There was an overlap. I was not happy as I make my appointment a week in advance and I am on time, so this messed my whole day up. I got there, and still waited about 15 more minutes. Poor Kim was so overwhelmed and tired that I guess she forgot to put the sealer on my rhinestones, plus the polish was gooey and nicks in allot of places. I didn't realize this until I got home which was late as I had major errands to run. I came home and took a good look at my nails and cried! It was almost 9:00 and I called the shop to leave a nasty message and Anna answered. I told her what happened and she said ,"oh so sorry, you come again and we will fix for free!" well-I don't know about anyone else but I only have time to go to appointments once each in a week. I had had a bad and very late day because of her. She told me to give her another chance and she would not do that again. I told her I would think about it. Other times I had waited like 15 or more minutes. I asked her once about what she told me about not making people wait and she just laughed. Well I decided to try again. It was ok for about 3 appointments and then she called again about 10 minutes before I had to leave the house and asked me to come an hour later. She apologized up and down and said she had 2 people that came together that asked for her and Kim. Hello-I had an appointment already set for a week. That was "my" time slot! I was angry at that point, but said ok and went in an hour later. When I got there, they did my pedicure and all was fine until the last 15 minutes and a woman walked in. I saw everyone scurry and Kim, my girl start getting nervous and people running to help her. Hens-she did it to someone else. I heard Anna apologizing to the woman. I decided at that point I would not come back. What she does (Anna) is wears a headset and answers the phone while doing nails-no appointment book there mind you. How does she remember who called and when their appointment is?? Then she has to transfer the appointment to the book of the person it's with??? No wonder things are a mess. One other thing that happened is there is a Starbuck's right next door. Like the nice person I am, I wanted one and as usual they were not ready. I asked, if anyone wanted anything as I was going to run over quickly and grab one. I was told to get a cold Soy Mochioto . No one gave me any money - I figured when I got back. I got mine and whomever and was told to just set it down on the desk. Never knew who it was for and no one paid me for it!!! Before I went back the last time I wrote Anna a letter and told her how I felt, and if it ever happened again with the time, I would not come back. I was 5 minutes late 2 times and I got reamed for it. Everyplace I know allows at least 5-10 minutes for traffic and parking. The parking there is terrible. I also told her about the Starbuck's incident. I told her, that I don't know about her culture, but our's-when you ask someone if they would like you to pick up a drink for them, it does not mean you are paying for it. Needless to say, I never went back. I am now going to Campbell Nails and Spa and they are the greatest!!! So friendly and caring, and very clean. They are not as fancy, but I found that area and what the shop looks like does not count for a thing. I also found that I had an infection in my big toe (a fungus) and that was the last place I had gone!! (Anna's) I am sad for Kim as she was such a nice girl and she was great to me. This was not her fault-just a victim of her boss. She suffered for it as I tipped her extremely well and gave her a Christmas gift. SO-DO NOT JUDGE A BOOK BY THE COVER!! read more

I have been going to Anna's Nails for a long time now, and their service is getting worse and worse while their prices are steadily increasing! I went in last week for a shellac manicure, and not only did I choose the 'wrong color for me' (it's my skin tone, please let me choose a color that I want on MY nails!), but the woman who was doing my mani was very rough with my fingers. The polish itself is uneven and not opaque- something that I do not want to overpay for! When she did the 'massage portion' of the mani, she just kind of lightly rubbed my forearm for approximately ten seconds. She also got the shellac polish under my fingernails- which is basically like glue because it sticks there and dries hard- and you can't get it out. All in all, it used to be a great place, with great perks, friendly workers, and reasonable prices. Now, the perks are gone, the prices are high, and the staff does not know what they are doing!
