I've used this shop before and had a great experience. The owner is knowledgeable and a very nice gentleman, and I trust their work. That said, they are overwhelmed with business to the point that I had concerns about their customer service and attention to detail. I dropped of my jeep nearly 3 months ago with a list of repairs, and it took nearly a month to get a response and quote for the work. Another several weeks to get the work done. I made the mistake of asking about one more minor repair as an afterthought - which set us back another month to find the part, etc. Had I known the cost associated, I would have declined to have it done in the first place. When I finally got the jeep home, I noticed the spare was on - no mention of this when I picked it up. I am very laid back but this experience didn't sit well with me, so I called the manager and spoke with him about it. He offered an explanation but no remedy. In short: they are too busy these days to take care of repeat customers and proactively offer solutions, so I will take my business elsewhere next time. read more

I would recommend going elsewhere. Like anywhere else. Took my 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee in to Just Jeeps for what they thought was a battery needing replacement. Great. Ended up replacing my battery and starter. When the engine still wouldn't start they thought I need A WHOLE NEW ENGINE. I took my business elsewhere after getting a fishy feeling from these guys. The next mechanic let me know Just Jeeps never reattached the new starter wires, hence the car not starting. When I asked Just Jeeps why they were convinced I needed a whole new engine & why my starter wasn't connected, they suggested the tow truck driver unplugged my starter???? They also swore up and down my engine was completely ruined and told me I was "clearly confused and should watch a YouTube video on engines". I took it to a 3rd mechanic for an additional opinion and they were astounded by my experience and the way the team at Just Jeeps talked to me. This place did extensive testing and found my engine to be completely fine. They also said I wasn't the first person they heard wild Just Jeeps stories from. I wouldn't be writing this review if 1) I didn't sincerely think Just Jeeps tried to take advantage of me and 2) they didn't talk to me as if I was stupid for asking basic questions on extensive (and misleading) service recommendations. It's been over a year and my engine is still running fine. (FYI if you're looking for a place to go, I highly recommend Buddha's Garage.) read more

If you read the reviews for this business and they are anything higher than a 1 or 2 star, and ESPECIALLY if it is a 5 star review, then the workers at the business are making false claims about their business practices, their quality, and their service rates. I had my Jeep there for nearly two years and they did absolutely nothing to it but let all the new parts I bought for it sit in the back of the Jeep and get rusted. They subsequently charged me over 3 grand for the non-work, and literally stating "well, it runs."....yeah well it was running when I dropped it off mofos. SERIOUSLY do yourself a favor and find a better place to drop it off and get repaired like ANY other place will be better than Just Jeeps. read more

Was looking around town for a repair shop that specializes in Jeeps and came across this shop. Was helping a family member out with a repair. Was quoted $4600, by another shop and Just Jeeps was almost 1k less. This was for a newer model Jeep Cherokee. It needed some extensive front end suspension and brake work. Everything was repaired well and the Jeep drives great now. I would not hesitate to go back. They have been in business for over 30 years and are well known in the local off road community. It did take a bit longer than expected to complete the repair but due to parts being on back order with global supply chain issues, it is to be expected right now. I have been going to Just Jeeps for close to 20 years. The service and price cannot be beaten. Robert and Dan have always been helpful and kind. I found out about them from a friend when I bought a 2002 Jeep Liberty that had an A/C problem. I took it to a mechanic who couldn't figure it out, and then to the dealership who quoted me a minimum of $1800 to fix it. Robert and co. fixed it for under $400. I've been going exclusively to them ever since for everything. They clearly know what they are doing and they love Jeeps. Based on years of reliable service, I've had them do pre-purchase inspections on two Wranglers I bought used. This helped me negotiate price based on repairs that needed to be done. You rarely see this kind of old school small business anymore-giving personalized attention to each customer. I had been to 3 other repair facilities and no one could identify the problem. Robert did in under an hour and repaired it in just over 24 hours at a cost much cheaper than the other places wanted to charge for their "I think its this" problem. All were wrong, Robert was right. After I paid personally in full as I was having problems with my extended warranty company, Cynthia at the front desk keep calling them on my behalf for over a week which finally resulted in me getting my warranty check. She went well beyond my expectations and provided a level of customer service I really didn't existed any more. These guys are definitely honest. I had a quote ($667) to fix the horn on my 2007 Jeep Wrangler by replacing the Clock Spring. Their quote was cheaper than the place I usually go by $150. They ordered the new part which was $443, found out that it was just a broken wire on the old Clock Spring. Only charged me $228. The other place would have most likely changed out the part anyway and charged me the full $817. Lucky for me that I waited for an appointment with them and drove from Killeen. read more

Exceptional job! Just Jeeps recently completed a complex build on my 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. They provided direction on suspension, lighting, gearing, wheels, etc. The final product far exceeded my very high expectations. Everything was perfect! Sprayed LineX on bumpers and rock bars, replaced gears to compensate for 37" tires, 50" light bar and hid the wires under the brackets, winch, flat fenders, suspension lift, modified exhaust per suspension. You know how when you go to the doctor and your appt is at 10 am and you get there a little early because you want to be respectful and you check in at the lobby and then wait in the lobby for 15 or 20 minutes and then they take you to a room where you wait for 20 or 25 minutes and a nurse comes in and takes your vitals and then you wait another 30 to 45 minutes to actually see the doctor and it is now 11:37 and you wonder why they just didn't make your appointment for 11:30 am and not 10 am? Well i'd like to share with you my recent experience at Just Jeeps. I called them in August, got an appointment to have my car seen in September and now it is October, and my car is not fixed. So, if you are looking for a mechanic in Austin for your jeep that cant help you for weeks, maybe months I highly recommend Just Jeeps and give them one star alone just for that. I had an appt for Tuesday September 28th, dropped it off that morning at 8 right when they opened. Did not hear from them Tuesday, nor Wednesday nor Thursday. Again, if you are looking for a jeep mechanic in Austin that will take your car but not work on it, this is 100% the place to go, and I give them another star for that. Also, during the 4 days they had it zero communication from them, nothing. No "sorry we have not started yet", no "we had you come in on Tuesday cause it is funny not so we could work on it" nothing. So is you want a mechanic that offers zero communication with you, again, this has got to be your #1 choice, so again another star. Lastly, when I did call Friday (they had it for 4 days, zero communication and they had asked me to bring it in Tuesday) the person that answered the phone lied and said he did not know where they were with the jeep as his techs were not in yet. So the guy that answers the phone is there but there are no mechanics? The truth is they where no where with it. I know this because except from the initial time they moved it after I dropped it off, they had not touched it again. Westbrook metals is down the street from them, and I buy my metal from Westbrook and my jeep had not been touched since I dropped it off. The guy that answered the phone lied and only after 2 hours did he call back and say that he spoke to the tech and could give me a quote. If you want dishonesty, I highly recommend them, again another star. I would have given them all 5 stars but to their credit they did answer the phone each time I called. read more

After being taken advantage of multiple times by Nyle Maxwell dealership who could never find the issue with my car and charged me insane amounts while keeping my car there for weeks , I decided to try this company instead. The gentlemen at the desk were kind and listened to the issues I was having with my car. The next day they called me to notify me they found the issue and the car was already fixed and ready. I was shocked! The pricing was fair, they were so quick to diagnose/fix the issue, and they were patient in explaining the problem to me since I'm not knowledgeable when it comes to cars. In the end, they informed me the issue my car had was a very common one that was cheap to fix and my check engine light hasn't come on since. Cannot recommend this place enough. I needed help finding some plastic revets for my side fender. The guys hunted them down but it still didn't work out. So the guy went into his back room and found me a a whole rear fender section. Best part is he told me not to worry about paying him. I still threw him a twenty for his time but still I thought that was awesome. I will be bringing my Jeep here from now on for anything. Oh and they have a cool dog too. read more

As a reply to the owner of Just Jeeps two years later - those $1000 repairs still remain to be unnecessary, after driving the car for thousands more miles and having several more eyes take a look at my car, I have yet to have been given the suggestion that my stabilizer be replaced. My AC Compressor went out and I called five different shops to get estimates - Just Jeeps was BY FAR the lowest, even lower than my trusted AC shop in San Antonio. The repair was completed in less than a day and I haven't had a problem with it since! They are friendly, informative, fair, and trustworthy. They will also be more than happy to drive you somewhere while your jeep is in the shop - I drop mine off in the morning and get them to take me to work. Super convenient! For starters, I will say that although this isn't the cheapest place around, they know what they're doing, and they do really good work. My arrival at Just Jeeps started after calling multiple shops in the area to work on my 1992 Jeep Cherokee's suspension. I was thinking about replacing the stock parts that were bottoming out, but also wanted to look into getting a lift. I've mostly done repairs on my own on this vehicle, but I knew installing new leaf springs, shocks, and the removal of rusty bolts was a larger job that I'd rather pay someone else to do. When I called, I spoke to Dan on the phone, and he told me the costs involved, walked me through what he thought was best (and what others with the same vehicle had done) and was willing to take the time to price out different options that I asked about. I drove to the shop the next day, agreed that a small lift should go in with the new leaf springs. Dan was very straightforward about pricing, and showed me the website for the parts he needed to order to let me choose what my price point would be. Satisfied, I put down a few hundred dollars for deposit. They told me the parts would have to be ordered, and to wait a few days, but before the end of the week they were ready to work on my Jeep. Even after missing my first appointment to drop off my Jeep, and hastily rescheduling with them for the following week, they were still able to knock the rust off my XJ's bolts, install the lift, and align my wheels within one day of me dropping the car off. All told, the suspension and labor cost me around $1,200 which of course isn't cheap, but isn't terrible for a whole suspension replacement (and knocking off 30 years of rust on the bolts). The hourly rate is close to other shops in the area, and the parts are all the same across different shops, so why go with Just Jeeps? It's easy: they simply know what they're doing. They knew the ins and outs of my XJ, so there was no diagnostic guesswork or upselling of other services. They got the lift, installed it to spec, and gave me my car back without any issues -- this is ultimately what I hope for every time I go to a mechanic. I get compliments almost daily on my Jeep now that the lift is on it, and I have Just Jeeps to thank for their excellent service. I took my XJ to another shop in town (Jeep Masters) for some minor overheating out of convenience, and regretted it immediately. Not only did the OTHER shop not know what was wrong, they wanted to bill me to replace things that I'd personally replaced brand new just a month prior. Oh, you suggest a head gasket repair? Gee, I wonder why -- probably because it's extremely time-intensive and is a $40 part replacement with $900 of labor. I called Just Jeeps with the same list of issues, and they were honest and clear -- Dan on the phone told me to "slow down with the talk of head gaskets, it's probably not a head gasket issue at all, it sounds like the waterpump" and laughed it off because he, too, knew the other shop was trying to upsell me on lots of labor. After some investigation, it was indeed the waterpump, all Just Jeeps needed was a few details over the phone to be right on the money. Longest story short, Just Jeeps is dependable, honest, and fair; and I would return in a heartbeat. read more
