This was THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! I took my car to the AutoZone at Lamar to get my car battery replaced. We paid close to $220 for a car battery. They asked if I was going to do it myself (which I thought was odd). I told them to replace it in my car because I knew that's part of what I paid for at AutoZone when I got my new battery. The lady told me to take the battery to a machine shop ( JJ'H TIRES FOR YOU ) down the street because they didn't know how to CHANGE A BATTERY!!!! The lady said "they should only charge you $5 to change the battery". "Tell them AutoZone sent you. We send people there all the time". So I trusted her and drove my car + the new battery to JJ'H TIRES FOR YOU. The guys spoke very little English. They could understand English though. I told them "AutoZone down the street sent me to get my battery fixed here and you'll do it for 5 bucks". The guy agreed and got to work. After he replaced the battery, I gave him a 20 dollar bill (tipped him 15 dollars). He told me to give it to the guy inside. He was VERY RUDE. He said "25". I reminded him that AutoZone sent me here and they said you'll only charge 5 dollars. (Keep in mind this process of replacing the battery was supposed to be free!). I took another 20 out and asked for change. He said "ok", then took the money and gave me 5 one dollar bills. When I told him this is only 5 dollars. He said it cost $35. Both me and my dad heard him say 5 dollars and told him. He just walked away with our money and started talking to the next customer. I drove back to AutoZone. And told the lady what happened. All she said was "I'm sorry honey". I AM DEFINITELY REPORTING BOTH OF THESE BUSINESSES TO BETTER BUREAU! They must have done this in the past. Got a clown-show run-around here, last night. Had a bad battery in need of replacement. Jose told me he could sell me one, but couldn't install it because a mechanic would have to clean the terminals and install it. I asked if I was just stuck there then, and he replied "Yes." I went back in the store, to ask Mr. Cruz (not Jose) if I could at least get a jump start to get home. He called back Jose, who told me, "No, we don't have the cables to do that here." I asked if someone could do it if I bought the cables first. Suddenly he came up with the idea to spray cleaner on the terminals and lightly wipe them. Next was telling me, repeatedly, that I needed a $210 battery, because it was the same brand as what was previously installed, while I repeated that I didn't have $200 & needed the cheapest battery. On the way back outside, with this cheaper battery, he referred to me as "esta pendaja." I'm not a stupid woman and this was an unnecessarily humiliating experience. #autozone read more

Called a autozone over by i35 looking for some bolts on my Honda,they said they didn't have that I should go to this location cause they had 1 in stock.As soon as I walked in a very very chubby little woman brown with fake eyelashes was met with "oh HELL NO HELL NO" I was with my wife and we were both very puzzled as to why is she screaming at us for? Fortunately, Auto Zone is there as a beacon in the night, helping do-it-yourself mechanics who failed to plan well during normal business hours or who encountered major repairs unexpectedly. Auto Zone can be intimidating if you don't know what to expect. If you need a part, you just go to the guy at the computer (past the register), tell him what you need, and he will ask for the year, make, and model of your vehicle. The AutoZone computer system lets him know exactly what part to get for you, so you won't need to know sizes or model numbers. If you have an emergency repair and need to put a new part or battery in before leaving the parking lot, just ask an employee if you can borrow the right tool. If he's not busy, and you give him a nice smile, he might even help you. If you want a good deal on hand tools, like socket wrenches, hammers, or screwdrivers, AutoZone's "Great Neck" brand is inexpensive and has a lifetime warranty. If you need to build up an inventory of tools fast, Auto Zone is a better value than Sears or Home Depot. The air tools, which are a must if you're doing major repairs yourself, seem okay, but I'm not super impressed with Campbell Hausfeld. ok wait. wth just happened? whoa. i'm writing this before i even leave the parking lot. ive been to 3 mechanics. each with very different tragic-worthy (aka expensive) diagnosis/prognosis. i roll in to this autozone on a whim. 30 mins before closing at 11pm. KIRBY was my salesperson. he follows me to my vehicle, as he's more than happy to help me install my purchase. all the while i'm doubtful this will solve my tragic/costly situation. he did more than that. after having a look at my situation,.he moved some part around. then he offered to refund my money. nothing wrong. the wire wasn't secured. folks, this confounded lark i've been on has been about a TAILLIGHT THANK YOU KIRBY now, guess my gender. read more

I maintain all five cars in our family and I like Autozone for several reasons. They will diagnose a check engine light, check your battery or charging system, test an alternator or starter ... all at no charge. They also have the largest selection of special tools available for rent also. Tool rental is basically free also. They will charge your credit card for the price of the tool and you get a full refund when you bring it back. (I don't understand why other auto part shops haven't figured this out.) A lot of their parts come with a lifetime warranty and their batteries are highly rated by Consumer Reports. read more

Horrible service. I walked in picked up the fuel injector cleaner I needed and stood in line behind 2 people. I stood and stood and stood. 20 mins later still hadn't moved in line so I put the bottle back, drove across the street and purchased what I needed quickly. There were plenty of staff just not those to handle taking our money. Do yourself a favor and just go to the other guys first. I'm a big fan of Autozone just not this one. read more

This was the second trip to autozone both were really good. However, I really have to commend Gerrado, who is currently still in training. I described my problem to him and right away he enthusiastically got the parts. Not only did he double check that they were correct--he actually went out to the car to ensure it. Then he showed me how to best install. Gerrado needs to be considered as a full-time employee. He is an asset to the company. He is courteous, kind, knowledgable, and efficient. In June, i was in town for business and my car would not start. I suspected the alternator or battery. After a quick jump from a business associate, I was pleased to find the Autozone on Lamar. They went above and beyond. I needed a new battery and also an alternator. It was 5 pm in the evening. They first put in the battery and then checked the alternator but it was bad too. They do not install alternators so they called someone they knew and he was there in minutes. I needed to run to my bank to set up payment, the manager let me use his car to drive to the nearby bank! They are car angels... So helpful, friendly. I was ready to go by 6:30 pm. I was expecting a long night and a big expense after all it is a city location Instead I found personable and quick service at a reasonable price. Thank you! read more
