I'm a desert rat (born and raised in the Coachella Valley) and I drove by this place probably hundreds of times when I go fuel up at the Ralphs gas station. I stopped by because I didn't get a chance to make my coffee this morning. I normally prepare my own coffee grinding up quality coffee beans and using the pour-over method via Chemex. I know what good coffee should taste like. The coffee here is very solid. Very smooth, taste like a medium roast to me. No acidity or "burnt" tasting. The staff was very nice and genuine. The chicken "Argentinian empanada" was delicious. Looks like I got the past one. There is even a drive-thru option if you are in uniform/work clothes and don't feel comfortable getting off. Wow the homemade empanadas were delish! And the chimichurri sauce the best I've had because of how light and seasoning was perfect!! My husband and brother said the breakfast sandwich was really good and the smoothies "great!" My açaí bowl was plentiful and so much I had to get a "to go" box! Everyone here is so helpful and friendly, even when the had no AC. That didn't stop everyone from stopping by as seen by the number of customers walking up and driving through. Yum!! This little coffee shop is adorable. The staff was super friendly and helpful. All of the food offerings they had on display looked delicious. We tried the egg sandwich, empanadas, and croissant breakfast sandwich. We also tried their coffee, (they had toffee but with can be hard to find at a lot of coffee places so I was pleasantly surprised) our drinks and food were ready in 5 minutes!!! And before another poor hungry soul gets fooled, I will lay out the facts here. Ordered iced americano and Turkey Bacon Avocado Sandwich with sourdough bread. Asked for hot sandwich but the bread came warm, mushy, and not toasted. Also, the highly rated cilantro sauce was no where to be found. In other photos, you will see a turkey sandwich with spinach, onions, and other veggies. Mine came with two slices of turkey two slices of avocado and two saggy bacon. See my photo. If I knew this was what I was getting for $11, I would have just went to subway. Also, iced americano barely had any coffee, it was all ice. This is a cute little coffee shop. My son-in-law, who is a true coffee snob, approved of the cappuccino with almond milk. I am not a coffee drinker, but the iced black tea was good. I ordered a cappuccino with whole milk, I find this gives you a real sense of the coffee. It was just not good, unfortunately. The beans were burnt and the milk was burnt, they had the heat up too high. The milk was moderately textured. The coffee itself needs a little work but the food was decent. Honestly still came to try and create less of a feeling like they were discriminating against me, I gave her a tip before my drink was brought out. So I googled the "best iced coffee" and Just Java came up. So we went to try it out. Let me first say I drink iced coffee on rainy days .... so I got the iced vanilla caramel coffee. If you like real coffee drinks, then I absolutely recommend Just Java!!! The owners were amazingly helpful and conversational. 5 STARS!!!! Oh and I got a Turkey bacon and Avocado croissant.... again perfect lil sandwich. We were waiting in the drive thru for 20 mins, we knew they were busy so we didn't mind but then a worker put up a closed sign without speaking to us (she saw our car because she handed a drink to the car before us). I walked inside to ask if they were closing early or if they just forgot we were there. The worker was mean :( she went off on me telling me she was so busy she had to close the drive thru and that if I wanted to order I would have to wait to do it inside because she wasn't going to open the drive thru. She said "so do you want to order or not cause I'm really busy", I said no thank you. I love supporting small businesses but having a hard time wanting to come back here after how mean the worker was. read more
