We met Jesus at the counter, he was extremely nice. The place is small yet nice for a quick bite, just the Venezuelan way. We ordered chicken, potato and cheese and ground beef pastelitos, guava and apple pastelitos and a passion fruit juice. Jesus was so nice he even gave us a free papelon juice. A total unexpected stop! First things first, should you swing by and grab something? Yes absolutely! I came in around noon for a spur of the moment grab and go lunch. This small hole on the wall joint is perfect for this wants food truck only group that I would see regularly at the village fest Street fair downtown! Staff was on it and I ordered quickly without any fuss two empanadas to try out since I have never been here before! Bonus points for the gluten-free as well as vegetarian options! While I waited for my food, the kind stuff brought me over a stand for my phone as well as a cup of their passionfruit juice! I have to order this next time. It was tart and refreshing for the warm afternoon. Seating wise they have a long bench that runs along the wall as well as a bar against the window with a few tables scattered inside. Casual grab and go or quickly snack on your food between shopping vibes. The empanadas came out hot and packed in a beautiful little box perfect for me to take on the go with a small container of their hot sauce. Beef was filled and so tasty. I finally made it to this amazing restaurant! Several people have recommended it and yesterday, I had the pleasure of experiencing it myself. The owners were so friendly and helpful with my order. I wanted to order what was popular in Venezuela and I did. Everything on the menu looked really good, but I picked 3 items. The beef Arepa, the potato and cheese empanada and the ground beef Pastelito. I also had the Frescolita to drink. Everything was so tasty! I ate most of it but did bring home leftovers, which were just as good the second time! Wow. This is a MUST stop in the Palm Springs area. The food is so fresh, so delicious and the family that owns it could not be kinder. Also they have incredibly amazing vegan and vegetarian choices. We tried the amazing empanadas (traditional Venezuelan empanadas from corn dough that are naturally gluten free ). They had various meat fillings that sounded amazing. We had the vegan lentil and chickpea ones and they were so well spiced and flavorful. We also tried the arepa which was the best arepa I have ever had. My husband who traveled in south America said it was the best he has had. We had the patacones , made vegan with black beans, mushrooms and eggplant and everything was incredible. Their house made juices were soo good and interesting and not overly sweet. Everything was made from scratch. The conversation with this Venezuelan family was the cherry on top. If you are in Palm Springs you must visit this place! We saw it as we drove by on Saturday and on Monday,on our way out, we stopped by for their delicious food. Empanadas de shredded beef, chickpeas and lentils. Pastelitos de guava and cheese, apple and blueberry. ALL of them good. Genuine Venezuelan food is hard to come by, and family owned shop brought back nostalgia and fantastic food to my Venezuelan born boyfriend. The shop owner (the father) was so incredibly hospitable and made it feel like eating with family. We basically got one of everything and made sure to come back during the last day of our vacation to bring some goods home. The shredded beef arepa had so much flavor and was a generous portion.
