Top: chicken arepa with mozzarella. Middle: potato and cheese empanada. Bottom: ground beef pastelito.

This was my first time having Venezuelan food and I loved it! I tried one chicken arepa, one potato and cheese empanada, and one beef pastelito. I also tried two different salsas. Everything was delicious, especially the arepa, so I will be back again!

Great experience, - friendly owner that took the time to explain the menu, offerings,. We opted for the pastelitos ( ground beef & ham/cheese) and empanadas (shredded beef & potato/cheese), tasty food items and great gluten free options. Must stop for next time we're in Palm Springs.

Wow. This is a MUST stop in the Palm Springs area. The food is so fresh, so delicious and the family that owns it could not be kinder. Also they have incredibly amazing vegan and vegetarian choices. We tried the amazing empanadas (traditional Venezuelan empanadas from corn dough that are naturally gluten free ). They had various meat fillings that sounded amazing. We had the vegan lentil and chickpea ones and they were so well spiced and flavorful. We also tried the arepa which was the best arepa I have ever had. My husband who traveled in south America said it was the best he has had. We had the patacones , made vegan with black beans, mushrooms and eggplant and everything was incredible. Their house made juices were soo good and interesting and not overly sweet. Everything was made from scratch. The conversation with this Venezuelan family was the cherry on top. We are so happy we found this place for our short vacation here.

If you're looking for great empanadas and arepas, then head over to PasteListos Venezuelan food at the corner of Tahquitz & Sunrise in Palm Springs. You might be familiar with their great tasting empanadas if you ordered them at the Villagefest street fair in downtown Palm Springs on Thursday nights. PasteListos opened a permanent storefront just a couple weeks ago and we love going in to support a local business. Best empanadas we've ever had! Recommendation: (1) Shredded Beef Empanada (2) Potato & Cheese Empanada (3) Ground Beef Pastelito

What a cute little Venezuelan place! Very clean! The owners Jesus and Daisy are super sweet and accommodating! And the food is simply delicious between the empanadas and the Arepas and the patacone, yum! Yum! Yum! Also very affordable! I've been there two times and I love it. I will continue coming back!

Jesus and wife are very passionate people with an exceptional way to treat people and serve the Best Venezuelan food. Feels so good and welcomed every time we come here . This is a Jewel in the desert! Love this place

It is a triple digit weather today so we were looking for something quick and tasty. As soon as we entered, we were greeted by a friendly man and his daughter (?). They patiently answered our questions and gave recommendations. We ended up ordering the chicken patacon sandwich which they did half with cheese and half without - so nice! I've never had a plantain sandwich before so it was a surprise of sweet + salty flavors. I loved it! So delicious. We also got the beef, chicken, and potato + cheese empanadas which are made with cornmeal - wow! First time I've had these kind of empanadas as well and was delightfully surprised by the crispiness of them. The fillings also had good flavor and the sauces were a perfect accompaniment. We also had the passion fruit and sugarcane lime drinks which were so refreshing. If you're ever in the area, I would def recommend!

Genuine Venezuelan food is hard to come by, and family owned shop brought back nostalgia and fantastic food to my Venezuelan born boyfriend. The shop owner (the father) was so incredibly hospitable and made it feel like eating with family. We basically got one of everything and made sure to come back during the last day of our vacation to bring some goods home. The shredded beef arepa had so much flavor and was a generous portion. The cornmeal was super flavorful and the meat was tender. The patacon was hot and stuffed to the brim with slaw, tender meat, and warm cheese. Highly recommend you give them a try!

I get giddy when I find little treasures such as this. I had originally bookmarked this little…read moremarket because of their empanadas, but I found so much more. The market is small and cramped and packed to the gills with Latin American and Spanish goods. They have good looking produce, a nice big butchery, multiple freezers and refrigerators filled with specialty items that will make your brain work on overtime. The way the deli works for buying their prepared food is different from some. You must first place your order at the back counter. You will receive an itemized ticket which you must take up front to the cashier. Then, you return to the back to show your proof of purchase receipt and then you get your food, bagged and ready. The total wait for us was about 10 - 15 minutes, not bad. I get it, why they have to do it this way, but it is time consuming and inconvenient at best. We did get some empanadas. They are fried, not baked, so have an extra good crunch with every bite. There are two ground beef fillings, i.e. two different recipes. Three were the wonderful filling that has green olives (my favorite), and one that was described as spicy beef (that really was not all that spicy). Both were delicious, and their dough was flaky. This could easily become one of my favorite destinations for a reliable empanada. Besides the deli empanadas, there was a nice selection of empanada disc's (round pastry wrappers) in the freezer section if you are inclined to make and stuff them yourself, and frozen empanadas made by Goya in yet another freezer. I also convinced myself I needed to buy two tamales. One Guatemalan, the other Peruvian. These are sold frozen and are ordered at the deli counter. Haven't tried them yet, but I am excited because they are not so easy to find. Other products that caught my eye included a fascinating collection of sausages, chorizo, morcilla (blood sausage), Spanish linguiça, Spanish chorizo, smoked meats (Corte's brand), smoked herring, quail eggs, and other imported delicacies. Perhaps I will not need to drive all the way to La Española in Harbor City anymore for Spanish imports? They sell a very comprehensive list of Goya brand products and prepared foods. I grabbed a bag of ready to eat sweet plantains from the freezer as well. All so tempting. By the time I had perused the whole store and was headed to the cashier, my guard was completely down. There it was... freshly baked goods critically placed next to the cashier so you can't miss them. Soft crust baguettes and rolls in baskets, and small, sweet pastries and cookies in their bakery case. There were several pastries that looked very special, some featuring custard or quince filling. We, of course, had to buy some. I have already tested the one filled with the quince and topped with finely grated coconut. It was outstanding, not very sweet. The dough was lightly brushed with egg yolk for a rich, beautiful finish. These were super fresh and very tender. The baked goods are delivered fresh from an Argentinian bakery in Burbank. This is a great find! Not your usual small neighborhood grocery. I am very excited to return.

The space is small and intimate and I think it would be a nice place for a casual date! We were seated quickly and the server was really great throughout the whole meal and very knowledgeable about the food. I appreciated that he let us know about the specials without us needing to ask. We started off with some drinks. I got a red wine sangria and it was good but I did find it to taste a bit watered down but it wasn't a huge deal! We also got a carne empanada and the flavor was to die for. The beef and onion was so delicious and savory. It was juicy inside but the outside was crispy and dry not soggy at all. The portion size was fairly large as well. We also got the yuca frites. They were good. Crispy but still nice and starchy and filling. Not my favorite dish but only because of personal preference and not because they didn't do it well! Lastly we ended with the pork shank special they had for the night. It was absolutely amazing. The meat just fell off the bone and was so tender. I loved how the mushroom and spinach came with the pork. All of the different parts of the fish came together really well to made it exceptional. It was a hearty and comforting meal and I wish it were on their regular menu! I'm excited to come here again in the future to try more dishes.
