I can't say enough about Owen and Just Central Vacuums. Before finding Owen, we'd had other companies come to service our central vac and never satisfied. I stopped using it because it just wasn't powerful. Previous repair people said they couldn't get parts and it wasn't a good central vac. They charged an arm and a leg just to tell me that! I got sick and tired using a regular vacuum that wasn't all that good. Rather than invest in a new vacuum cleaner, i decided to find a central vac repair that only repaired central vacuums. And boy am I glad I did! Even though I live in the boonies, Owen was more than happy to come out. He asked very good questions over the phone to help assess the problem before his visit. He is so polite and professional. He truly loves what he does and knows more about Central Vacuums than anyone on this planet!!! I was in heaven after he fixed my central vac and honestly don't know how I ever got along without it. We are moving out of state and will definitely install a central vac in our new home. September 2022 I had Owen come back to do some upgrades to my central vacuum system. I had him convert 4 low-voltage inlets to electrified inlets as there were no convenient plugs for plugging in the pigtail cord, added a new electrified inlet in my walk-in closet, converted my kitchen inlet to a Chameleon valve, as well as purchase a new low-voltage hose for the basement along with a turbine carpet brush for the rug in the basement. The Chameleon wasn't a simple install as Owen had to climb his way through a crawl space that is packed with shipping boxes. While I was at it, I had him upgrade the power unit to an MD Flowmaster unit. Owen did all his work with the utmost precision. He knows construction very well and really impressed me as I let him know that both outlets on the closet wall were "old work" boxes. He wouldn't touch them since he said they may not hold if they were removed and put back due to drywall breakage. He found the junction box the "old work" boxes were connected to in the attic and used that for the electricity for 2 of the inlets on the second floor. For electricity for the first floor inlets, I showed Owen the junction box layouts and he used the one I thought was viable. To me, this upgrade was the money well spent. The new MD unit is so quiet, you can't even hear it in the house as it's mounted in the garage on the far side away from the house. I will only purchase accessories and bags from Just Central Vacuums. This is a very friendly and reliable business to work with. They're on time and the work is always meticulous. read more

This was the central vacuum repair service I chose of the two that I got bids on repairing the inlets for our MD Central Vacuum System. Just Central Vacuums is one of four local authorized dealers for MD Central Vacuum and is an Elite Dealer for MD. Owen the owner/technician arrived at the beginning of the two hour service window that he gave me and after I showed Owen where the inlets where located he went to work. Before I knew it Owen was completely done with the repairs of the inlets including one in our upstairs hallway that was built into our wainscoting. Owen also showed me that the system has a filter bag system and explained to me about replacing the bag when needed. Owen also advised that our floor attachments where on their final legs. Once all the repairs where complete and demonstration complete Owen went and prepared my invoice. The nice thing was that as a great customer service gesture Owen decided to give me one of two new floor attachments. Taking that into consideration I asked the price of the attachment itself and bought the second one from Owen. The entire time here including replacing 9 inlets, 3 vacuum hoses plus labor was roughly about an hour. Pricing was right and the service was exactly as I would have expected anywhere in that it was very customer service friendly. Owen (and his office) are very professional and he solved our central vacuum issue within minutes of arriving. Turns out it was an elbow pipe in the attic that had never been glued to the outlet and had come loose over the years and we were losing 70% of the suction. Owen continued to check and clean the central vacuum itself and advised me of when it would need to be replaced and what it would cost (he had brought a replacement motor with him just in case that was the issue). What can I say other than everyone needs a central vacuum! We built our home in 2017 and had just central install for us because our builder did not have the option. Owen is just so friendly and very informative. I previously had in my other home a older model central vac and with it being over 20 years old I only needed repair on it one time and Owen did it for me than and I knew when we built I would be using his company for my newer model central vacuum. The newer model is much sleeker and is a little different hence why I've had so many questions regarding all my cool attachments and so fourth, Owen without question has come over to help me and show me tips and has never made me feel bad even though some of my questions are really silly! Owen really shows professionalism and talent. I visited a few places looking for a central vac company to work with. After meeting with Owen at his new storefront in Naperville, I had a very good feeling about him and the MD vac system he uses most. He was able to order a different powerhead than what he usually sells and came in at a very fair price for the motor, hose and powerhead. The reason for my 5 stars? Here you go: My home was piped for a whole house vacuum by the builder 20 years ago and even checked out to be ready to go after finishing my basement in 2017 by another central vac company but when Owen came to install the unit, he found a pipe in the attic which was not even connected at a joint and a damaged pipe in another area. Owen showed me the issues, quickly fixed them, and made adjustments to the other inlets. Owen loves his job and it shows. I give these folks the highest marks. Owen does a thorough and excellent job. We've had some repairs done on our old system. (The original company who installed was out of business.) Owen does a great job. Prices are reasonable. He's very responsible to calls. Then we finally decided to replace the old unit. Again excellent service. Owen took the time to explain the differences between the features of the old and new units. We also decided to install a separate unit in our detached garage.
