*UPDATE* So, we sent out our dryers to the other place. We sent out the one we brought into Lockport Vacuum last. We got a call that it was ready yesterday. There he said that there was nothing wrong with the motors, in fact they were the right motors for that dog dryer. Unlike what Lockport tried telling us. Also, I knew I brought that dryer to Lockport Vacuum in the past for servicing, and the guy told me that I definitely did not, buy in fact I did. The place I took it to now, told me that whomever serviced the dryer in the past, put the wrong carbons in it, that they were too big, and that they just jammed them in there. To top it off they only charged me $108 to fix it, unlike the $348 that Lockport Vacuum wanted. I will not be using Lockport Vacuum for anything ever again. read more

We brought our Riccar vacuum in because it wasn't sucking up anything. We changed the bag and still nothing. When we came to pick it up the man behind the counter said $40. I asked what was wrong he said the bag door was not snapped in all the way. I said that's it? That's $40 worth. He said well I cleaned it also. We did not ask for cleaning. So to sum up, there were no parts replaced and a couple of minuets of labor for $40. He said well that's what we do here. We bought this vacuum from them a few years ago for several hundred dollars and this is customer service. Never again! read more

Right before the holidays, my vacuum tube broke. Somehow the tubing had broken and I did not have a vacuum. I called Lockport vacuum they got me in the same day. Not only fixed my vacuum but cleaned out as well. For all under $100. I feel like I have a brand new vacuum. I liked the fact I didn't have to buy a new one and I gave my town of Lockport business. before you go out and buy anything new. check to see if it can be fixed. I really appreciate having Lockport vacuum in the community. Now my shampooer is breaking, I will not be buying a new one I will be going to Lockport vacuum to see if they can sell me one of their items refurbished in their store. read more

Brought my mom's dyson dc14 in for repair. The people working there are the owners, as well. Wonderful people and as honest as the day is long. It was repaired within the week, and I was called to come by and pick it up. It was cleaned up and looked brand new (and it's 10 years old). Works like brand new, and my price was what they estimated it to be. Reasonable and honest people! I wouldn't go anywhere else, now. These folks know their vacuums. Friendly and didn't try selling me on something I didn't really need, as so many places attempt to do. I've checked prices on the unit I purchased as well as bags and Lockport vacuum is less than or equal to online prices (for what I specifically looked for). I'd rather give a local business the money. It's good to check in periodically as well because they get some really great used vacuums you can pick up for a good price, and far better than the "throw aways" you find at the typical Wal mart or target. It looks like parts are plentiful too, if it's made I'm sure they can get the piece you need and prices are fair. read more

Took our Hoover wind tunnel vac that was not picking up and making lots of noise. I had called first and staff confirmed they could fix it. Dropped it off one afternoon and it was ready the next day. $61.00 for a bunch of repairs and in the words of Tim "the tool man" Taylor, it could suck the tin man through a key hole. read more

I have gotten quotes from this company a few times. I called today to discuss a large project and was completely put off by Don, the owners son. He was busy and had a customer in from of him, I suggested getting my name and number and calling me back when he had time, he wasn't interested in doing that either. I asked if I had upset him in some way and he said 'no I am just busy and everyone left on vacation.' He was very short with me, yes he answered my questions but was in no way kind, warm, friendly, or even polite. I am very disappointed, and was willing to spend my money with this company even though they are over an hour from me and there is closer store that I could buy from. read more

Called to enquire about a central vacuum they had advertised. A real nice lady answered and helped answer every question. Arranged the shipping for me and really, couldn't have been more polite. Then she asked if I would call back as they don't open for another hour. So they give great service out of hours too! I'm a business owner too and more often than not the negative reviews aren't the complete fault of the business. Some people will never be happy no matter what you do. read more

I had a canister vacuum estimated for repair. After I was called with a estimate I was told in the same conversation it was fixed and ready for pick up. After picking up vacuum I came home to find pieces missing and cover not locking. Went back a few days later after waiting 17 minutes for someone to wait on me I had two women walk out one eating and said no parts were left behind. After trying to get a price on replacing parts a man came out from the back and rudely stating he didn't take anything. He also told me there was so much more wrong with it but couldn't tell me what. I asked him what and he stated he was too busy to help me now. I never accused anyone of taking anything and all I was going to do was replace what was missing. If there was so much wrong why wasn't I told that in the estimate call. These people are not customer friendly. One lady rolled her eyes at a question someone asked the other was chewing food while waiting on me and the man was completely unprofessional. I will go back to oak forest or mt greenwood for parts before I return here. I feel they just took my money and left it in not much better condition than took it in with read more
