First I tried using a handy man. the clothes got less dry than before he came. I then called Mr Duct they came out in two days to clean my clogged filled dryer vent. the service person was fast, friendly did what asked. explained what he did left the area clean. told me to every so often how to keep the the vent clean. the only negative it was a little pricey but now days what doesn't cost a lot. give them a try if you want the job done right. read more

Scheduled a duct cleaning for a two furnace house, A boy showed up dirty like he just rolled out of bed. I had text company what I needed to do to make it easier for technicians. He then advised me he had to make two holes in each furnace I did not know that but ok and he needed access to all vents, meaning he would be moving some of my furniture. Then he advised me to it would take until 7 pm since he was alone with no partner. I was not feeling confident in his ability or work experience so I said I need to reschedule. Plus I had a dog that would have to relocate since this was going to take 3 to 4 hours. His boss called me yelled at me used foul language and told me what to do with my dog charged me $129.00 to cancel on site. read more

First time delayed, came to my house later than our scheduled time, so I cancelled. Second time here, after cleaned the dryer vent, left my dressing room a mess, and forgot to connect my vent pipe. Third time here, connected the vent pipe, but the technician stand on my dryer machine, left a concave on my dryer machine. And few days later, the pipe felled again. Third time here, finally got their job done. The manager said will issue a reimbursement check on January 9th, said need 5-7 business days, never received. Asked twice since then, but no, today is January 25th, still not received. Just for the dryer vent cleaning job, waste me almost one month, from the first day December 28th. They seems to have a good customer service, talk nice and friendly but never fix the real issue. And they just told me to wait and thank you for my wait, but no reimbursement. Manager called today, send someone send the check to my front door. He is very nice and apologized for the delay, they do issue the settlement on 1/3/2023, maybe delayed due to the holiday and bad weather. read more

She was very helpful kind and pleasant to work with. I did move forward and get services done, and I am overly pleased. Vents have not been cleaned here in over 20 years. Just a job I have been putting off for the past 6 years but glad I got it done. I received a confirmation call yesterday from Allison with the window of my technicians arrival. On date of service I received a morning call advising my technician Marcos was en'route! Marcos arrived unloaded and was ready to work at 8 on the dot as scheduled. We walked thru the process and identified all points of contact needed. He was on his way to go to work! Marcos asked permission to enter rooms before doing so, he engaged with my son(19yrs) and overall was kind, professional and quick. The noise of it all was just the machine and scrubbing of the vents. My Curio cabinet was on top of 1 vent and honestly too heavy for me to move. He was super careful in moving to access to work and returned it original location. This cabinet has not been moved in years as it holds my Mom's Urn and her Crystal collection. The fact he took so much care Without knowing those details was amazing. I would recommend 1000000%! After services were completed, I received a follow up call from Tom, who expressed empathy from the original issue and indicated it was used as learning experience and policies were updated regarding customer contact. Nathan arrived at my home promptly as scheduled yesterday. He cleaned my dryer vent inside and outside, and cleaned up afterwards. He pointed out that my connection to the dryer was half out and showed me the mess of lint accumulating on the floor. He also suggested that being that there are only 2 of us at home, this service would not need to be performed again for a year and a half. Schedule an estimate for replacement told them I would get home around 3:30 and the person I initially scheduled it was like oh yea that's fine 3-5 time frame: I got a call midday stated the technician was ahead of schedule asked if he could come early and I told them no. Then I get a voicemail cancelling my appointment around 2:40 stating the technician did work at my building before stating they didn't replace systems like mine because they are all in one. I called back and clarified that it was not and I have a condenser outside on the ground. Then he was like oh okay my guy will be there at 3. I said no I get home at 3:30 and the person before said it was okay then he said no we can't wait 30 mins we have to reschedule you. After 20 minutes of little work and not replacing filter which i asked for, and then watching two guys watch videos on phone before "cleaning furnace." I was told the flames are yellow and I need a new furnace. They called for a quote. Then we waited in my kitchen while they watched videos cuz I was supposed to be emailed a receipt which never came. Service guy was out of reciepts, but then found one. I had to ask it be marked paid and show amount. Flash forward. I called Nortec Environment al Services and the tech was very professional and spent an hour plus cleaning, testing blower, igniter and air flow. He used a camera to look for leak while explaining everything he was doing in detail to me. Leaks mr duct said were there were not found. , he ordered the filter I needed and tested sit for CO2. He cleaned the motor. He found a water leak from condensation and we will be fixing that via humidifier (which Mr duct never looked at). I don't want money back because it's a lesson worth the $119 sale price. Save your money and keep your home free of loiterers. read more

They showed up on time, did the work, wore protective foot gear, and picked up after themselves. Mr. Duct uses high powered vacuums with a spindle powered brush to remove the dust. Had our whole house vents cleaned out by Mr. Duct. While the technicians seemed to do a thorough job cleaning out the vents, one of them gouged into our hardwood floor around a vent trying to get the cover off. He never asked us if we wanted to skip cleaning that vent because the cover was so stuck, instead damaged the floor around it trying to get it out. He did knock off the price of our dryer vent cleaning to make up for the damage, but it will likely cost more than that to repair the damage. They also nicked up the flooring around another vent, but not nearly as badly as the first. Very disappointed and will never go with them again. read more

Mr, Duct vs. a Groupon firm - let's see how they stack up. Mr. Duct cleaned the dryer vent properly (went up into the attic and cleaned the vent). A Groupon firm I used did not go into the attic at all. Mr. Duct had their own ladders and equipment for inside and out. The Groupon firm did not even have a step stool, using all three of my ladders. The Groupon firm I used asked me to remove my negative YELP comments because their van broke down and they allegedly could not bring any ladders (or so they told me AFTER my negative YELP review). Strange how the Groupon firm showed up in a van, with other equipment, and I am surrounded by home improvements stores carrying an ample supply of ladders for purchase. Mr. Duct's Mario and Jamie were professional - and more important, credible from start to finish. read more

After reviewing Mr Duct about this issue- they called me back the same day- apologized about the lack of communication of what was NOT included- (cleaning air grates they took off) They offered back $200.00 from the $400 service. Wasnt sure I believed the common statement "checks in the mail" -but indeed it was - and came quickly. I will say for that- there is amazing customer service that came from Mr Duct. Dont remember having any company do that before- when complaining about a service. So if you use them- just make sure you know what exactly you are paying for- and as far as my experience- they have great customer service and honesty. read more

Very disappointed in the service. They arrived on time, but the our street was being refurbished. When I arrived after a medical appointment, they were already inside the house; in retrospect, either my wife or Mr. Duct should have pulled out and rescheduled. Due to the dust and debris from the street, it was extremely messy. They were required to take before and after photos, but neglected to do so -- they did not even show us the amount of dirt that they had collected! After a time, I emailed Mr Duct to complain. They sent a "technician" to inspect the work. When I told him that the original appointment should have been stopped and rescheduled, he replied "they don't like to do that because they work on commission". I was flabbergasted that they had so little regard for the welfare of our home! In addition, he looked at the furnace and removed the cover for the humidifier and then stated the filter was dirty; I replied the humidifier has been off since winter that the dirtiness was calcified water. However, he did remove a lot of dirt from a return that the original service had missed even though they had looked down there. After he left, there was no follow-up from Mr. Duct. We had Mr. Duct clean our dryer vent twice, and both times there were problems on their administrative side. First time, when I made the appointment, I made it clear to the person on the phone that our dryer vents out through the roof. They mentioned we'd need a two person team then, so they clearly knew, when the appointment was booked, that they needed two people. I was out the morning they were doing the work, and I got a text from my husband saying one man showed up, saw our set up, and said we need a two man team, so he'd have to get someone out to help, and it would be a wait. Eventually, we got a two man team and the work was done. Last week, we had a situation where our dryer stopped working, despite it having been cleaned less than a year ago. We had our roof replaced recently, and I suspected the roofers may have blocked the vent up somehow, which I explained to the person when we booked. When they cleaned the vent out, they said our vent was actually pretty clean, but the connection on the roof vent had been knocked loose by the roofers. So, they reattached that and cleaned out what little had accumulated in our vent since the last cleaning. When I reported the issue to our HOA, concerned that there might be other residents with the same issue, they offered to have the roofers reimburse us, since the cleaning was much earlier than needed due to their work here. All I needed to get reimbursed was for Mr. Duct to add a line on our receipt saying that they had to reconnect the roof vent. Since that is the work they performed, you'd think that would be no problem, right? Oh, it was a problem. There is simply no way they can do so, they inform me. Their system won't let them. I even offered to just let them send me an email stating that their team reattached our roof vent. Nope, can't do it. So, I can't get reimbursed by the roofers who messed up our vent because of Mr. Duct's administrative issues. I won't be going back to see if there's a third way they can mess up the behind the scenes processes. read more

I just had an appointment and the technician Jason was so incredibly professional, understanding, helpful and efficient. He was here at the agreed upon time (between 8 and 10) and finished before the appointment window was over. The service itself is impeccable and my dryer actually works now! We used Mr Duct a couple of months ago to clean the air ducts and the dryer vent. The guys who came were professional. However, they finished the whole house within 1 hour. When we checked the dryer vent, there was still lint inside. The guys also didn't clean up afterwards, which took us an hour to do. Our relatives recently had another company do the same job at their house (same size as ours). For less price, they had 2 guys who did the job in 3hrs, which included clean up. We won't be using mr duct in the future. read more

I had to look for air duct cleaning service after remodeling my house. Requested quote from 3 companies and ended up with Mr.Duct because the offered relatively lower price. It's not cheap to have air duct cleaned but definitely necessary after all the drywall and wood flooring sanding. I called them in the morning around 10 and was lucky that they were able to send a team at noon. They arrived on time and quickly started to work. It took them 2.5 hours to thoroughly clean all vents and ducts in my 3000sqf house. After everything is done, the air coming out of the vent smells fresh and not dusty anymore. It's worthy of the money I spent. I definitely recommend this company and will use them again in the future. read more

We have used Mr. Duct twice. You trust that they are doing what they are supposed to be doing. Friendly workers and hey, they even show you all the "crud" that was inside your duct work. (Right...) Our last service visit was when we moved into our new home back in 2013. I thought things went well, and I think the only complaint I had was that they didn't put screws back on some of the vents. Fast forward to April of this year. We had to get remediation done in our basement, which included replacing some of our duct work. Seems that they missed pretty much all of our return ducts and I was so disgusted. (And if they couldn't access it, they certainly didn't tell me this fact.) There is no way that all that would have accumulated in a few years. No way. Our HVAC guy said that it was decades of crud. If you do use this company, I highly suggest you ask them to use their cameras to show you that the ducts are clean. I think it would be worth your time. I didn't know better. So much for having NADCA certification. I feel duped. I have pictures of the all the crud from the ducts, but I can't figure out how to load them on yelp. read more

UPDATED REVIEW After my original review I spoke with their owner Keith. There was an internal issue with communication and that was the reason why I was not quoted for the work and just charged. He worked with me to resolve the issue. Overall, I am happy with their service. Hopefully you don't have the same issues I had if you go with them. ORIGINAL REVIEW BELOW I called to get someone to come out and clean my dryer vent. Their website says that they come by and give you a free estimate and if you approve the work they will then fix it. The technicians showed up and just started working. After about 20 minutes the technician came up to me with the bill for $175 which was their max price. My vent is at most 12 ft in length from dryer to the outside wall. No bends or any abnormal length to justify a max price. When I checked the vent outside, the technician cracked my vent cover and left one of the flaps disconnected. Also, cleaning my vent did not improve my drying time, which they claim will happen. The company emailed me after asking how my service was. I've replied to the company twice stating my concerns and nothing back. I would not recommend using them for service. read more

Our A/C was working great one night, and we woke up the next day to a warm house. The unit was blowing, but the air was not cold. We chose Mr. Duct after looking around as they seemed to have good reviews. The issue with this place was not the service from the tech (Josh was good), but rather the cost. They have the right to charge what they want for labor - I understand there are costs associated with payroll. I also expect a mark-up on the parts, but not to this extent. The tech diagnosed and fixed the issue, within an hour, and THEN told us the price. I understand we are required to pay for the service call to diagnose, but never gave the go ahead to repair. He said it was the capacitor and our total was $459 (less $20 for a coupon we found). When asked for a breakdown of the costs, we were told the part (capacitor) was $380. That seemed high, so we looked online. These can be purchased for $30. We called Mr. Duct and asked why they were charging $380 for a $30 part, understanding there would be mark-up but not like this! They didn't have a good answer, so we explained that we didn't approve the work to be done and wanted the part removed. They had the tech remove, and charged us the $79 service call (our $20 coupon was no longer accepted, which was of course not a surprise!). Oh, and my husband was informed by the company he couldn't watch : ) Fast forward 20 minutes later where we find an HVAC parts store 2 minutes from our house - they charge $20 for the part! My husband watches 5 minutes of DIY You Tube video, replaces it in 5 minutes, and our house is cool again! I rarely post reviews, but if this review saves someone from being overcharged by this crazy price, it was worth it. read more

Then they sent me an email about the quote and details and then i called to confirm and mak my app. All smooth. I was able to get a next day app. The next day they called me to let me know the technicians were on their way and what there names were. Wish i remembered there names bc they did a great job. I called to schedule an air duct cleaning for our home this morning, and Tom was very professional, answered all of our questions over the phone, and offered for two technicians to come to our home within just a few hours of my phone call on the same day! Ivan and Steven (the two technicians) arrived promptly and were very professional and courteous. Ivan was also very informative and answered all my questions and concerns. They spent about 2.5 hours cleaning our air ducts (both supply and return vents + the furnace and trunk lines down in the basement). It cost $495 (including a $75 discount - internet special), so normally the cost is $570. I also appreciated all the good reviews on this business on the better business bureau website (www.bbb.org) and that they are NADCA-certified (national air duct cleaners association), as this industry does unfortunately have a lot of shady players out there. The service I received from Roberto, Luis and Natalie is the reason why my rating isn't one star. My air conditioner wasn't not working at all, I also need my air ducts and dryer vent cleaned out. In addition I needed a bird guard placed over the outside dryer vent as birds kept getting in. I called Mr. Duct on Tuesday and was able to get an appointment for Wednesday during the 1 to 3 window. I was told that someone would call me when the technician was 30 mins out. As promised I received the phone call shortly after 1 and Roberto and Luis arrived shortly after. When Roberto arrived he advised right away that the technician to repair the air conditioner was on his way. Roberto explained the process right from the start then he and Roberto and Luis immediately got to work cleaning my air ducts and dryer vent. They both were extremely polite and helpful and kept me informed every step of the way. I really appreciated the video cam view of the ducts before they were cleaned and after. Robert and Luis worked well together tag teaming the cleaning job. They finished cleaning the ducts, vents and placing the bird guard all before the air conditioner tech arrived. Roberto looked @ my air conditioner, identified what he thought the problem was and sent a message to the technician to so that the tech would have the correct part when he arrived. Unfortunately the air conditioner technician never arrived. The operator at Mr. Duct tried to keep me informed of the tech's where abouts, however a thunderstorm rolled through Wednesday night preventing any work from being done even if the tech was able to make to my home. The operator advised that she would call me first thing Thursday to set up a time for my air conditioner to be fixed. At this point, given the rain, I was completely understanding especially since the operator was going to work to get the matter taken care of first thing Thursday. When I didn't receive a call from Mr Duct by 11 am Thursday, I called them, Natalie was helpful, she was able to find my account right away, identify exactly what I needed and advised that a technician could be at my home between 2 and 5. I was a little aggravated because I had to call them yet I agreed since it was same day and sometimes things slip through the cracks. Unfortunately I had to call Mr. Duct back @ 5:15 because the technician had not arrived and I had not received a phone call. Again, Natalie answered and as soon as I gave her my name she remembered me, apologized and contacted the technician to find out what was going on. The technician once again, was at another job that would be at least another hour or so. Natalie offered to move things around and have him come out first thing Friday am. By now I'm done, the temperature in our house was 83+ degrees for at least 3 days straight, I could not risk yet another no show. I declined the attempted reschedule. Natalie was very understanding and voluntarily comped me the dryer vent cleaning and the bird guard install for my troubles. I'm not sure if Mr Duct was under staffed as far as air conditioner technicians are concerned or if this was simply a case of having more complicated jobs than anticipated. Regardless, I would have appreciated forthright proactive communication regarding their ability to service my air conditioner. read more
