    Called Sunday night left voicemail for estimate / service request. Received call Monday morning, got estimate, booked a couple hours later. Juan showed up, unloaded, setup & got right to work. All registers & Returns were cleaned/sucked out w huge vacuum outside & large hoses through to furnace. He was very professional & efficient. I am thankful for the team's punctual service. The price I paid I felt was a good value. The hvac system in the house was 6 y/o and had never been serviced. I can now breathe easier thanks to Mr. Duct! A+

    We are very satisfied with the service from Mr. Duct. I filled out a contact form on their website and got a call within minutes. I was able to schedule an appointment for the following weekend. This was our first time using a service of this type and didn't know what to expect. The techs, Ricky and Ryan were very professional and friendly. They showed up on time, explained what they were going to do and how they were going to do it. They worked in a timely manner (less than two hours). They answered all my questions and they took note that we're expecting a baby and congratulated us on when they found out and once again when they left. They offered to wear shoe covers but I told them there was no need as it was dry outside. I as well as the Techs wore masks the entire time I would highly recommend this crew to another customer and can see myself using Mr. Duct again. Cost was reasonable. We we received a new customer discount.

    Note - The quote I received has the address on Belle Plaine listed on it. However, the employee stated he was based out of the Lisle location which is why I'm writing this review for the franchise located in Lisle. My condo association hired Mr. Duct to clean some of our dryer vents. One of the owners found them via a Google search after Stanley Steamer said they wouldn't service anything beyond the first floor. I didn't glance at the reviews for Mr. Duct and had never heard of them before the appointment was made so I wasn't sure what to expect. Anyway, the gentleman cleaned three dryer vents in the building. Malik was one of the guys who came out. (Can't recall his colleague's name) He was affable and friendly, but a bit unprepared when it came to job preparation. I needed a bird cage to cover my dryer vent, but my neighbor neglected to mention it when the appointment was made. Malik said he had been late to work that morning so he forgot to stock on bird cages. He said he sold his last one and didn't have any. He also couldn't provide me with a receipt because he ran out of them and didn't get any of them either before starting his shift. I get being late... it happens to us all. I'm not mad about that, but you've got to be about your business. Excuses are unacceptable. The franchise owner or corporate company should be upset about these kinds of things because this is the kind of stuff that customers remember. I would be hesitant to use Mr. Duct again because of their employees lack of preparation. I definitely couldn't recommend them to family or friends either. Malik said someone at the office would email a payment receipt, but I don't know if it was actually sent because I didn't ask the owner who made the appointment. (He read my card number to an employee in the office over the phone) I do know that they charged the agreed upon amount so that's why I'm not so concerned about the receipt. Anyway, I asked Malik's colleague if they could take photos of anything they find. He told me yes that could "definitely" happen. He said this when he was inside my condo as he was the one who was going to turn on the blower. However, when I went outside a short time later Malik said he couldn't take photos and that there would be nothing to see since I live on the third floor. He said everything would just blow away before it reached the ground. I've never had a dryer vent cleaned so I don't know if this information is correct or not. I did take note of the different responses from the two employees though. I honestly don't know if the guys did much of anything when it came to my dryer vent because I didn't stay outside to watch them. I could see Malik on the ladder though from the multiple cameras on the side of the building. I know my neighbors on the second floor needed their vents cleaned though because their bird cages were full of lint and debris. We received a quote of $220 for the second floor units and $265 for the one third floor unit. However, I was asked to pay $5 more than the quote I received because Malik said the prices had increased. I didn't argue about it since it was only $5, but that was yet another strike against Mr. Duct. You can't change the quoted price (in writing) at the time of payment AFTER the service is rendered. At any rate, I ended up paying less than the quoted price after all. I didn't realize this until several days later when I looked at my credit card statement. Lastly, the employees didn't even bother to clean up the lint after they'd cleaned the vents!!! They'd quoted us $705 to clean three vents and couldn't be bothered to ensure that the property was had been left in the way that they found it. Again, this goes back to doing good business... I saw that they'd left a mess before they even had collected the last payment, but I didn't say anything. I asked the last gentleman if they were done and he hesitated. He seemed to be looking towards the area where the dryer vents were located. I wondered if he was debating about whether or not they should clean up behind themselves. Either way he ultimately said no and they left shortly thereafter. I ended walking the perimeter of the property picking up lint. It didn't take long and didn't harm me, but the point is that they should have done it as a matter of practice. Needless to say I'll definitely be steering my condo association and everyone I know towards a different service provider whenever they're looking to have their dryer vents cleaned.

    I read the Yelp reviews for Astera before I reached out to them, and the 5-star reviews are spot…read moreon! I sent a message via Yelp on a Sunday night and they immediately scheduled our oven troubleshooting for Monday afternoon. Their front office staff is incredibly responsive! George (technician) arrived timely and was very thorough. He explained things to me every step of the way. He is approaching this very methodically - ok, so it's not the igniter, let's look at the next link in the chain... I saw George called out by name in other Yelp reviews, and I understand why he comes so highly recommended! He called the manufacturer to discuss his findings, but the manufacturer tech team wasn't available. He let me know he would be calling them again in the morning and that he would reach out to me with an update. I've had plenty of negative or so-so experiences with other service technicians from other companies. This experience with George / Astera is so positive that I'm posting my review even before the service is completed. Astera will be getting first crack at all of my appliance and HVAC service calls going forward.

    We used Krope and Son previously at our home in Lisle for annual tune-ups and again in our new home…read morein Naperville, including maintenance on our boiler system. Betty is always kind and helpful on the phone. Tim (the owner) and his son provided a fair quote for a heat pump and installed it last summer. Unfortunately, after it was installed, it stopped working approximately six different times and follow-up visits were needed. Water dripped onto our ceiling from the drain pan, and I had to have it professionally repaired. They finally got the system working. Did I mention this happened in the middle of the summer with a newborn? I decided to let the cost of the ceiling repair go, as I felt bad for them working on the system in the heat. In the fall, we decided to use another local HVAC company moving forward. They pointed out that Krope and Son hadn't installed the correct filter size, and had instead jammed an incorrect size into the new system. Now, one year later, it's been discovered that the drain pan was actually broken and siliconed together. I called Tim to ask why they did it this way, and he completely lost his temper, spoke down to me, and used the time to badmouth his competitor. Boy, am I glad I never filled out the sheets he had asking for recommendations to neighbors and friends. Guess they've lost our business for good.

    Stay away from this business! My entire cooling and heating system was left in an inoperable state…read more I called for a diagnostic of the air conditioner today because cool air isn't coming from the vents. I was told the diagnostic would cost $149. I asked to be informed of any repairs that had to be done. Technician checked the system and recommended replacing unit. We discussed replacement unit and cost. I was ready to pay deposit. In the next 10 minutes I was told that the model I selected is old and not available. New model costs $1000 more. I asked for a proposal to decide later. Technician told me that the visit costs $396. He said that he fixed air conditioner that was not working. He never told me that he is fixing anything. Through our the visit it looked like he was figuring out the problem. I talked to the owner and we agreed that any repairs that were done will be undone so that I do not have to pay for repairs. Then the technician removed all the wires from the board making both heat and fan unusable. He did not just undo the "repairs", but made entire system unusable including fan and heat which were working before his visit. See the photos to show what was done!

My husband & I have better things to do than having an "agenda" as Harmonic accused. My husband was on a business trip. 3. I never called for an emergency repair. I did not switch from repair to cleaning & maintenance. I asked A. if C & M was possible afterward, unaware of 2 more with no heat. Harmonic called me "selfish" for this. 4. Any possibility A. and K. have unconscious biases towards people like me? They accused us of "manipulating" what? Because I was able to and had to carry my 10 lb dog for a short moment because of her barkin? A. & K. are the ones who were "aggressive, harsh, unethical, disrespectful, and manipulative." Stop projecting and gaslighting. I wish I would remember to record conversations when I am alone with a person like A. Why did K pull down his absurd replies on Google?
