Doesn't look like much when you are driving down the road, but there was a lot of cars out front so I had to stop. Some of the best boneless chicken chunks I have ever had. My sister and I went here for lunch on Wednesday. I had read reviews and it sounded like a good local option while we were in Checotah one day. It's downtown so there's lots of shops to explore when you're finished eating. I had the grilled onion burger and fries. My sister had the half order of boneless fried chicken, which came with mashed potatoes (real, not instant!)and gravy, a salad and Texas toast. Everything was great and the portions were generous. My sis couldn't finish her half order! The burger was perfectly cooked, onions were carmelized, the lettuce, tomato, and pickles were fresh and crispy. My sis said the chicken lived up to its reputation and the accompanying items were good. We'll definitely be back! Lots of locals filled the place, so you know it's got to be good! read more

After a long day from Amarillo stopped into this little gem after reading reviews. So happy we did. We were greeted by a customer leaving that set the mood. Grab a table and they won't disappoint. Our waitress was Jaycee Duke. Wonderful, cheerful young lady with lots of charm. Strike up a conversation with her if you get a chance. We ordered coffee first and it was really good especially if you like it black. Next was a bowl of Cowboy stew and Boneless chicken dinner. Huge portions, great value and did I say, Yummy? Ya gotta love Yelp... Rolled into this little town and thought I'd find a diner. Well. June's is way better than any diner - and the food was divine. There isn't anything really 'fancy' here. The fact that people were lined up at the door prior to the doors opening says that they don't need 'fancy'... Instead, they simply serve very good and very well priced food. With a smile! I ordered a half order of fried chicken with a salad. The chicken has a crisp, yummy batter and the pieces of chicken are nicely sized and seasoned perfectly. Crisp. Flavorful. Perfect. Fantastic local favorite. We were on an out-of-state trip and stopped in on a Saturday around 11 a.m. It was full. Our wait was only five minutes. The servers were efficient, friendly, and fast. The Boneless (chicken) and fries is delicious and big enough for two. The patty melt was exactly as it should be...savory with slightly crispy bread. People kept coming and going, but no one waited more than five minutes. I loved their slogan - "Love, Peace, and Chicken Grease." read more

Had lunch here while traveling along I-40, based on other reviews. It was excellent. Two of us had the chicken bites, one had a cheeseburger. Homemade fries, and none of it was greasy. Fast friendly service, simple menu and great prices. Too much salt on everything except the turkey sandwich. Side salad was fresh and good. Because of the saltiness, the only thing eatable was side salad, sandwiches and the mashed potatoes. Soup of the day was chicken tortilla soup and I could not much of either and did not look homemade. I would not recommend this restaurant unfortunately. read more

We ate lunch here on our way through from Texas. Home-cooked food, good size portions, friendly service, clean. One menu shown on Yelp is from three years ago, so obviously prices have gone up from 8.99 to 12.00 on the chicken fried steak dinner (good), mashed potatoes and gravy are homemade, green beans were great! Small side salad and Texas toast come with the dinners. We also ordered fried mushrooms for 5.00. They were very good! Would definitely go back on our way through town. read more

Our family of 4 (2 kids 9 & 12) is on a road trip and went to June's based on the great reviews raving over the food, service, and closeness to I-40; we found our needs met or exceeded on all 3 points! We almost missed this sweet and delightful diner because one reviewer reported they were there for 2 hrs on a Saturday night. It's Saturday & we were hoping for a faster dining experience with 2 more hours of drive time ahead of us. I called June's 20 mins away and they told me there was no wait. We were seated right away at 6PM and our service was phenomenal! We were out of the restaurant in 45 mins- even with an appetizer. I am sorry that I didn't get our super friendly and sweet waitress' name (short, thin brunette with a fantastic smile!) we got 1 order of fried pickles (OH.MY.GOSH. SO yummy! The crispness of the pickles and the crust was perfect!) My husband & I both got half orders (boneless dinner & boneless chicken salad) and were so glad we did! It was plenty of food! Our son got a cheese burger that I tried and it was so good! The fries are nothing special, but as good as you would get at other places. Our daughter got the chicken fried chicken dinner that couldn't be halved, so we brought some leftovers. The chicken most definitely IS special! June's does a great job with their chicken. We wanted apple dumplings, but we were too full and didn't want the extra calories after the fried pickles and chicken!!! We stopped at June's today for lunch around 11 a.m. The front door was locked, and no one was around. Have they closed? 12/16/15 update: Received a note from the owner today. The restaurant is closed on Sunday and was recently closed temporarily for some maintenance. Guess we hit them during one of those times. Next time we're in the area, we'll give it a try. read more

The cheeseballs were very good, I've never had okra but wanted to try it and i found it pretty good though i still can't relate the flavor to something else.
