Just got delivery to my door, everything is really good and fresh. My fiancé definitely recommends the Kobe beef burger though it was cooked medium well instead of medium (no stars taken for this, most people don't order true to chart) my roomie loved the Lox and bagel plate, the salmon Benedict is so-so. The negative one star is because the Salmon Benedict is supposed to be delivered with fresh fruit, which I was quite looking forward to, instead I received soft/soggy breakfast potatoes, and oddly enough a Special K breakfast bar, so maybe they ran out of fruit? Secondly, it'd served with smoked salmon, which the website doesn't specify. Thirdly, as a girl who's from the backwoods of the Canadian border, I have eaten wild caught and smoked salmon since I could breathe. This is definitely the saltiest and smoked salmon I've had in years. I love caviar, but I had to remove it due to salt overload. So next time maybe I'll copy someone else's order, since everything else tastes decent. Also, the coffee was really good and made perfectly. All in all we will be trying other things from here in the future :). read more

Jumping Java is my favorite local breakfast spot. I discovered this place years ago when I worked on Ventura and I have to say it was probably one of the best things that happened to me when working there. They have amazing banana pancakes, french toast, omelettes, and a mean breakfast burrito. Their highlights for me are their soujoukh (Armenian chorizo as I like to call it) and their breakfast potatoes. I actually order these potatoes as take out when I serve brunch for friends at my house, hee hee. No one has to know they weren't made by me ; ) Lunch dishes as stellar as well. I like their pressed sandwiches and their yummy burger. Mmmm. They are also super dog friendly and accommodate dog owners on the patio and bring our beloved furballs water as soon as you check in. My only con is that I am not a fan of their coffee. Its a little to light for me but I guess I can always just order a latte from their espresso bar. Now I'm craving breakfast! I've been here a couple of times and always enjoy it. It's a little pricey... I think it was around $10 for one chocolate chip pancake. Granted, it's a plate-sized, massive pancake, but I could only eat about a quarter of it. The location is nice, seating is nice, waitstaff is excellent. The atmosphere was great. Small place that gets crowded quickly. Unfortunately it was a chilly day so we didn't want to sit in the outside patio. Had to wait about 35 mins to get a seat inside. I had the buttermilk pancakes that were nicely done. Eggs and Turkey bacon were also very tasty and not over cooked. The potatoes that the waiter talked me into were good but a bit salty. Hands down the best breakfast we have had this week while on vacation in LA. Every item ordered was perfect. Unique, good size servings, fair price for items. It takes a lot of work to not get breakfast right, so I look for other factors in grading a restaurant. With that being said I really enjoyed our meal today. We're visiting so what drew our attention was the outdoor seating and that several people were eating there. We figured if they have guests we'll give it a try, too. The service was excellent. The food portions very generous. I ordered the Greek Omelette with one change and the server and staff handled our group of eight effortlessly. I was impressed. I don't believe we caught them on a lucky day or one employee was on while the rest were off. What we experienced is the standard here. Great job, and may others give you a try. read more

After a hike almost every Sunday we like to go to a different brunch place and this time it was the jumpin Java. The place was easy to find and even easier to park In My opinion because they had valet. When we got to the place it was 5 of us and we chose first available because they were a bit busy and it took them about 30min to seat us. As far as their menu goes it had a lot of options and we went with the omelettes and pancakes , the orange juice and the coffee and tea ...etc and everything tasted AMAZING, can't complain! The only reason why I have 4 stars and not 5 is because the place is pretty small and wish it was bigger so they can accommodate more people, it felt a little claustrophobic in there , but other than that I will def come back again , their s'mores pancakes are to die for ! I came in early, due to changes of schedule, and I had expressed that I do not mind waiting; especially since I came earlier then expected. The owner was incredibly professional & understanding, made sure I was seated - had something to eat/drink while I wait. But the beauty behind it, she made sure I was out early. She had finished my order less then an hour & made sure I was ready for my event. I ordered for 50 people, but she made sure to have enough for everyone! I really like it here. First of all the people that work there are all very nice and friendly. The service can be a tad slow but the food is good. The pressed lavash sandwich is my favorite. This is one of the few restaurants where I want one of everything on their menu... but also one of the few restaurants that carry turkey bacon for those nutty people (like myself) who don't eat pork but still love bacon. Have only eaten from the breakfast menu. The food for the most part isn't terrible but is grossly overpriced. The portobello and California omelets weren't bad -- just not worth large price tag. The Brie omelet was really disappointing: little flavor and little Brie and large price tag. All 3 omelets would have benefitted from salt, pepper or some seasoning. The carrot cake pancakes are a real misnomer. You get regular pancakes with some carrot slices in the middle bottom of the pancake along with some raisins and spices. The edges and top are just pancake. I don't think these extras mixed in nicely with the batter. And I wanted something more akin to carrot cake, not shredded carrot pancakes. They were also dry but edible once drenched in maple syrup. Then again, even Spam is probably okay drenched in maple syrup. read more

I've been going here for about a year and I finally decided on my last visit that it would indeed be my last. It's really just the poor service. There's long waits for food, they often don't bring you your whole order (i.e. half the time not bringing your sides) but charging you for items they didn't bring. Jumpin Java has a great reputation, particularly due to its trendy Studio City location. My experiences are split with this place, on one hand every time I have ordered delivery has been hot, fast, and delicious. On the other hand, I had food here a few days ago and was unfortunately not very impressed. The restaurant is not that big, and on one occasion it was quite warm outside and the only way they were cooling down the inside was with fans, so it was pretty uncomfortable. The service and wait is pretty slow, especially on the weekends, and the food isn't as good as when I order delivery. They do have a lot of great menu, especially for health conscious people, but I'm just not too impressed with the actual location. I will order delivery again though! read more

I really wanted to like this place. Cute atmosphere, a lot of menu selections and unique dishes. We ordered the la Brie omelet and paid the extra $$ for chicken sausage which was recommended in the menu. And we also ordered the peanut butter banana French toast sandwich. We get our dishes and find a hair on the banana sandwich. We let the waitress know and she takes it back to the kitchen. We start to eat the omelette and find that it has dry chicken breast instead of the chicken sausage, not a total big deal but we want to let the waitress know and also ask where the toast is that's supposed to come with the omelette. She comes back to us and responds with a sort of attitude to the chicken breast and tells us we can have the toast if we want it.... We didn't even make a stink about anything that's happened so far but come on! We were really polite about the hair and the messed up second dish. The manager (and owner?) finally comes by and apologizes and tells us he'll "take care of it". We start to feel better about the whole situation when our peanut banana sandwich arrives. The manager and waitress disappear for the remainder of the meal and we are taken care of by another waiter. The check arrives and it has everything on it. The peanut banana sandwich. The omelet with added chicken sausage, which we never received. And a coffee. I tell the waiter that the manager told us he'd take care of something. He returns and said the manager would take care of the coffee. Seriously? We were charged for something we never received, the waitress gave us attitude for her mistake and there was a hair. Really?? What sucks is that I bet this is a rare occurrence. No one else around us seemed to have any trouble with their meals. The peanut butter banana sandwich is amazing! And I bet the La Brie omelette would've have been good if it was made correctly. House coffee was ok. Other patrons dishes around us looked really yummy too. Even after the hair and mess ups I still wanted to come back and try it again. But I don't think I'll be back now based on the customer service.
