Meh. A co-worker and i went for lunch and though they have a good variety of food, i was underwhelmed. I went up for my first plate and straight to Orange chicken (i love orange chicken) and found a hair connecting three pieces... after that I mostly lost my appetite. I told a worker and he took those pieces out. I still ate other stuff lol. They had a good variety of sushi but the pieces i had, the rice was under cooked. The sushi is nice and fresh, the food selection is definitely clean and there is a good variety. The price is definitely very good with a lunch buffet price of $9 and during the lunch buffet there is still a full selection. Our family was here for my nephew's Birthday from Alabama. The waitress and hostess made sure our party of 9 was taken care of. Jumbo Buffet was a jumbo disappointment. My fiancé and I decided to give it a try after seeing it on a list of the top Chinese Buffets in the country. We were surprised, but thought we should give it a try. Well, I don't think the publication that made that list ever tasted the food. Several of the beef and chicken dishes were either really bland or had meat that was mushy and gross. Almost all of the sushi uses a snow crab mix or crab stick. The best thing I ate was probably the plate I brought up to the hibachi cook. At least that is made to order and had some flavor. I much prefer East buffet in Metairie to this place. read more

This is the best Chinese buffet that I have had in NOLA so far. 8 rows of food to choose from including a hibachi grill and the sushi was fresh which can be suspect at a buffet. No. Just no. The food here is average at best. I went for the crab legs and they literally only put out 5 legs at a time. They were gross anyways. Tasted like they only boiled them in plain water with no salt. The ice cream smelled rancid and I hope I don't get sick from the few licks I ate. This is no doubt the best Chinese buffet in the N.O. area! For a buffet, the sushi is EXCELLENT! My other favorites are the pork dumplings, sesame chicken, egg rolls, & hot/sour soup. Come here all the time when I come to town. Huge selection on the buffet and sushi. Even had good size sashimi. Only thing I had an issue with was smoked salmon. It was on the buffet in a butter sauce and was not what I expected. I wouldn't say it was smoked salmon. More like broiled salmon. My experience have always been one star above average. read more

This place is getting a bad rap for no reason. When the food first comes out fresh it is surprisingly incredibly good. I'm sure if you go rite in between lunch and dinner the food will start to get not as good. But what do you expect? For them to change out the food every 20 minutes even when there is not a lot of people. Wrong that would cause any buffet to get closed down in a week. We just moved here about six months ago, and tried this place out for the first time two weeks ago. Great clean restaurant with outgoing and courteous staff. This selection is great with sushi, fresh fruit, great desert selection, hibachi station and a mix of american and asian foods. This is one of the best buffets in the area. There sushi is great and there are many choices to choose from on each visit. The seafood is flavored with many varieties. Jumbo also has real Blue Bell ice cream which is another plus after a great meal. read more

Food was pretty good here for the most part. Only really bad thing was the temperature of the foods. Things that were supposed to be hot, were barely even warm. So... I went to this buffet for the first time two days ago..and now I feel like a complete fool for ever dropping a dime at those other Chinese buffets.. Sure this one is in Kenner.. but it is well worth the drive from Metairie.. I went on A Sunday.. early evening...The place was packed..Right away I could tell this place was different..The food trays were all full and neat and obviously well tended to.. my first trip up included spicy shrimp..fried butterfly shrimp.. chicken on a stick and some beef and broccoli..it was ALL above average.. all cooked perfectly.. moist.. not dry or bland.. I went back for some more shrimp.. the butter shrimp was very good.. I had three huge raw oysters with lemon that were fresh..and just yummy..after two huge plates of food I was stuffed.. I did manage to get a plate of the ever so rare buffet crab legs for my daughter..and I stayed away from the desserts as they were nothing more than the standard buffet cake squares and cookies and soft serve..All and all I recommend this place highly if you are looking for a Chinese buffet.. there were many foods I didn't try..that perhaps I will next time.. my daughter enjoyed the salmon.. and ate two helpings of the seaweed salad..and the boiled shrimp were the largest I ever saw on a buffet.. yes maybe next time... NASTY NASTY NASTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I reported this place to the County Heath and Code Enforcement !!!!!!!! My food was COLD (but they did ofer to put it in the microwave , just what I wanted to pay $16.00 for a microwavable meal) And took a bite of pastry only to find out that the cream inside it had turned to MOLD !!!! Informed manager and he only said "sorry" and in a very rude tone I might add. And then had the nerve to ask for payment. TAKE MY WARNING "DO NOTEAT HERE" Although after they are inspected by the Health Department , they may be shut down. At least I hope so !!!!!!!!!! Stopped by after calling and was told they had seafood specifically crabs on the buffet, when I get there .. that was not the case. The front desk person was very nice and offered me to view the buffet prior to deciding to eat there. I appreciate that; I did not stay. I give 3 stars for customer service. BEST CRAWFISH FROM A CHINESE BUFFET. I go here just for the crawfish. Everything else is what you'd expect - sometimes cold food, old tasting sushi. The crab legs would be good if they boiled them in some seasoning. Even with butter, they're still very bland. read more

It's not my favorite but it's good. There is a habachi which if you don't take part in, then you are missing a lot, since there isn't a huge variety of food. The sushi is very good in my opinion. The staff is very friendly. They have signs posted everywhere reminding you that if you don't eat what you take, then you pay extra for it. I had to laugh/chuckle at some of the reviews on the "all you can shove down your gullet" seafood night, especially the ones about the snow crab leg shortage. From what I have observed, as soon as a hot steaming pan stacked high with these crab legs comes out, there are about 4 to 7 chow hogs that attack these piling their plates 10 to 12 inches high with $11 per pound crab legs with the complaints coming mainly from the crab hogs that are late to the trough. Greedy folks should realize that higher priced items are placed on a seafood buffet as a special treat for loyal customers, not as a main bust a gut course. Overall, Jumbo has very prim and proper wait staff; all young Chinese girls and boys who cannot hardly speak a word of English and better yet they don't spit onto your food as do some of the lower class fast food establishments do. The selection seems very diverse. Even a hibachi bar & cook top complete with a cook, who volunteered for the spot for the tips, which are far and few between as I have noticed. Most of their foods are fairly good to great with a few, "I'll never eat that again" dishes. Lunch time is the best time and best price, 11 a.m. early, or 1:15 p.m. when all the workers have had their fill. My only complaint is lax mothers...you know, the ones who let their 3-7 year old kids touch and handle everything on the buffet twice before choosing the chicken nugget or corn dog or pizza slice that finally gets loaded onto their plates. All this to say, it's a fairly good experience if it weren't for 10% of the customers who should seriously think about eating at home only. I for one do hope this family run business continues to be a thriving Kenner business. BTW, heads up, don't go here on Christmas Eve after 6:30 p.m. unless you want to wait for a table for a long time. The Cajun Cannon's place + The Boat, and all Chinese restaurants in Kenner & Metairie had lines out the door during that time period. This place is terrible. Price is expensive, $13.99 for dinner on weekdays. Food is old and there is not much to choose from. Staffs were very rude and unfriendly at the time we came . They gave us a bad attitude when my family stop by for dinner; not asking how the food was or even offered the water refill. My dining experience here could be better. The service was good but the food wasn't. I went here because of the good reviews they had on yelp. The food selections that they have wasn't that bad. The only reason why I'm giving it a 2/5 stars because most if not all of the food I ate was old/hard. Place was horrible, we gave it a second chance and a third, two times we complained about the food being awful, the firsr time they literally took a single dollar off the bill, the final time we went was two days ago, and out of 4 of us, not a single person got seconds, nor finished their first plates, which is rare cause we love to eat, after complaining again, they told us we had no choice but to pay the $70 bill, so against my will, i did, but i will NEVER go back there again, and the customer service is horrible as well!!!!!! Lesson learned, and i hope this saves someone else the ridiculous amount of money i spent on a absolutely horrible dinner!!!! Thank you read more
