I drive past this shop every day and decided I'd stop today since I was craving donuts. Walked in and saw a little cutie hanging out with his mom who was working the donut shop and a second little one further back. Love that this shop gives her the flexibility to work and be with her children. Now to the donuts. Although they looked good, the taste was not good. I saw this listed as a top spot in Chattanooga which isn't saying a lot but stopped in. When I stepped inside I really wasn't impressed with the selection. I think I've become accustomed to the quality of Revolution Doughnuts. When the person behind the counter approached me she looked like she had lost her best friend. I asked her was she okay and she tried to perk up one percent and said she was. She had a child with her actually several so maybe she was distracted. Out of all the donut shops in Chattanooga this was the only one that caught my eyes. They have the cutest donuts. Fresh and yummy. Staff was nice and worked fast. Parking was a bit sketch and towards the back but hey its a gated parking lot with easy access. Before (or after!) walking the bridge, Julie Darling Donuts is the perfect spot to grab a few donuts or snacks and a cup of coffee to stay warm. Coming from Atlanta, there are a lot of different donut options, basically in every neighborhood in town. So Julie Darling had a lot to live up to. Plenty of parking in the private lot out back. They also let us park here for the pedestrian bridge, which I'm not sure is usually allowed, but we asked the lady at the counter and she was fine with it! I was still a little nervous about getting a boot or ticket though... we were fine for an hour or so, though! I've been here twice now, and each time was around the holidays in December - hence, all my pictures and experiences here are holiday themed. They are currently open for dine-in, although I do prefer sitting outside - there are also a couple of outdoor tables if you prefer. They let me bring my pup in - so that was a huge score for JDD! I have tried the coffee (just ok) and some donuts, which have always been soft and fluffy. The cake donuts are also just ok - but the yeast donuts are delicious. The banana pudding donut was a little sweet for me but is perfect for anyone with a sweet tooth! I also noticed this time the donut sundae - because why the heck not?! I don't mind taking my donut a la mode!! Definitely plenty of dessert options here, whether you choose a donut, a coffee or ice cream. I got a dozen donuts here of various flavors and I was so happy with my donuts! The cake donuts are amazing. All of the filled donuts had filling in them. There was not a single donut that I was disappointed by. I loved the salted caramel donut. At first I wasn't going to buy it because it wasn't filled but I am glad I did. They also had the strawberry filled as well as raspberry filled. I loved both. The chocolate cake donut was also amazing. Pancake bacon donut was okay, but was not a favorite. I drove down the street 3 times and still couldn't find this place. The map here on yelp is a lil wonky. But they are near the corner of Fraser Ave and Forest Ave. It is right next to a child's Garden, Emmaline's, and Tattoo. I am glad that I checked this place out. Holy Donuts GALORE!! Super fun find and, if you're into donuts, a must try! We passed this location on our way into town and decided to give it a go as we were leaving the area early morning time. Staff was busy restocking donuts and organizing the cases. Everything was being made fresh. If you know me, you know I'm a fan of the classic glazed donut. So of course I got one of those here. We also tried the raspberry and banana donuts. The space itself is super fun, much larger than it appears from the outside. Was super hyped to get to this place- went on an early Saturday morning - and donuts were probably 1-2 Days old. You can tell by the glaze and just the overall "stale" feel of the donuts. They're some of the best donuts I've ever had! The dough was super soft, the flavor very balanced and not just sugary and the selection amazing! They have some classic donuts like glazed and Bavarian cream, but the real catch is their selection of whack donut flavors. They had a bacon and pancake, key lime pie and banana pudding, and so much more, when we went in. We got the blueberry cheesecake and key lime pie donuts. I love blueberry cheesecake and the donut did not disappoint. It had a cream cheese icing and a delicious blueberry jelly inner. The key lime pie donut was also delicious - full disclosure, I've never had key lime pie anything, but based on this donut, I'm a huge fan. They have a lot of seating, both at tables and a couch area in the back. On the cold, windy and rainy day I went, they had a fireplace lit near the couches. I visited Julie Darling Donuts on Frazier Ave which is located on the North Chattanooga side of the Walnut St bridge. I discovered this place on Google when looking up "donuts near me"Because I am not local to the area and wanted to find good donuts. After seeing what other people had said about it on Google, I had to give it a try for myself. The donuts I had were the banana split and the iced cake, both of them were absolutely phenomenal! And well prepared in my opinion same goes for my hot tea. As far as service goes, I would say the woman working behind the counter was very polite and genuine towards me, and the other customers that were present in the store when I was there despite having two very small children who looked to not be barley a year old present behind the counter in cribs of course. As far as ambience goes, I would say to say very casual place to go if you want really really good donuts around this area. The food here I think was definitely worth my money! Ohhh I love me a good donut! We stopped by this cute little shop because it was right across the street from where we had lunch. It wasn't super busy, but we did come at an off time. I think around 1. Upon entering the shop, you are immediately greeted by a large display of donuts. There were so many varieties and they ALL looked so good. We came here on Monday morning around 10:15. I kind of feel bad writing a bad review where I know the employees are working hard and are short handed but, I will be honest here. First, they do have a "Now hiring" sign in the window so you can expect it's not going to be a perfect visit. We go in and there seemed to be a lot of donuts already missing. We thought they had already been purchased since we were arriving 3 hours after opening but they really hadn't been made yet according to the staff. The donuts that were there however looked beautiful! The lady that helped us was nice, but she seemed a little frustrated and very behind, I felt bad for her. That is a lot of work for just two people. They have to make all of the donuts, fill, decorate, etc. as well as ring up the customers, make coffee drinks, etc. I understand it is hard to get your work done when you are constantly being stopped by customers needing to order. They really should have someone in there only doing that and helping the bakers if they have time. This is where I would expect the owner to step in and support the staff, I would. Anyway, we got a half dozen donuts. Two weren't actually ready yet but the lady told us about them and I really wanted something fruity, which that was mostly what wasn't ready. So she took the time to get the raspberry and granny smith apple ready for us which was very nice. We asked for 4 kinds of donut holes and she gave us a dozen, not the worst thing in the world since they are so cheap but we didn't really need that much. Upon ringing up, we added on a cold tea and chocolate milk. I hoped on maybe getting a T-shirt but they only had child sizes available. There is also no tip line to tip the staff, you can do cash tip but a lot of people don't carry cash so maybe they should think of changing that.. We paid $18.33 for our donuts and drinks, pretty good price for a donut shop. We first tried the oreo, it was very good, very sweet but good. Next we tried the raspberry filled, I noticed when biting into it that the dough kind of pulled a little bit, which was weird, so I pulled at it on the donut itself and realized it was undercooked. I could feel the raw dough in my mouth and was able to pull a whole piece out. That grossed me out but I hadn't totally given up on them yet. The donut itself was again, a bit too sweet. I know people are going to say donuts are supposed to be sweet, which I agree with, but this was a bit much. Next we tried the chocolate cheesecake..It was okay, again too sweet but there was a slight mint flavor that we both agreed was there. Very odd and not very pleasant. The salted caramel cake donut was texturally great but too sweet to eat more than a bite of. I felt like we were going to get diabetes from eating it. We wanted to try the rest of the donuts we got, especially the apple, but we just couldn't bring ourselves to do so after as much disappointment and sugar we had in the regular donuts. Lastly, the donut holes, they were perfect! Great texture and flavor. I guess because they didn't have anything added to them they were a good sweetness. We ate almost all of the dozen over a 24 hour period. Overall, probably our worst donut experience we have ever had. Again, I feel bad that they are short-handed and maybe they went on an off day but, next time we are in Chatt, we most likely won't try them again. Who doesn't LOVE donuts! I really appreciate a place where people put the effort to make it look appealing to the eye. That's how you fall for it to begin with... I have really enjoyed this place every time I visit, the donuts have always been really fresh, full of color, toppings and fun! I prefer the vanilla cream filled, coconut, cheescake and blueberry, apple pie and birthday cake. The donuts are a little more flaky than a regular Krispy Kreme or DD. Which I prefer since is a more gourmet version of a donut. Service, every single time I have been greated and treated with so much respect, never felt in a rush to pick something and if I ever want more sprinkles, they will take care of me on that. I recommend this place because is in a very good location, has convenient parking behind the store, prices are very fair. I was delighted when I saw this place because I've been craving the taste of a local bakery since I moved back to Tennessee from Boston. First time here...visiting for the day from Atlanta. We wanted some donuts and trusted the good reviews we saw on Yelp...but we were totally let down! We bought 1/2 dozen donuts to try out. Every single donut tasted artificially flavored and left a bad after taste. My husband was looking forward to the banana cream donut but was sadly disappointed by the banana flavored pudding inside. Not a fresh banana piece to be found. We also tried the blueberry cheesecake donut that was suggested by the lady who worked there. She seemed super miserable to be working there today, by the way.
