Perhaps having lived in NYC for the better part of a decade has given me unrealistic expectations about pizza, but I thought Jules Thin Crust is thoroughly mediocre. I had the Margherita, which is the perfect pizza to get when trying a new pizza place because it should be consistent from restaurant to restaurant. This Margherita was very disappointing. The mozzarella was not fresh, and I could hardly taste the basil or the tomatoes in the tomato sauce. Aside from potentially low-quality ingredients, I think part of the problem is that the pizza was sitting out for a long time, and they heated it up using some sort of conveyor belt toaster rather than a brick oven. NYC slice shops have their pizzas sitting out for a long time too, but they reheat them in a brick oven so that it's not a problem. The conveyor belt doesn't seem to work as well. read more

My friends and I love visiting Princeton on Sunday's. The city is more lively and full of vibes. We specially love going to Jules for their unique pizzas. My favorite has been the Mexican and Mediterranean slices. Both of the slices are loaded. The Mexican slice has mozzarella cheese, roasted sweet corn, red onions, scallions, cilantro and tomatoes on their chili-lime black bean spread. The Mediterranean slice feta cheese, kalamata olives, sliced red onions, chopped organic tomatoes, crisp romaine, organic tomato sauce. Although I had never heard of this place, I was surprised to see how immensely popular this chain of pizza is! There are multiple restaurants across United States. The ambience is very homely with photos of owner and his family on the walls over a period of decades! Veggie 13 - being a sucker for pesto, this pizza was a must try for me! I have been to Jules multiple times and I really enjoy the experience of trying an organic thin crust of pizza. Who ever came up with the whole set up of the restaurant I can say well done, especially the window wooden hanging table! Love it. The reason for rating this place a 4 out of 5 is the water! Came here recently while checking out Princeton and really enjoyed myself! First, there was quite a large variety of pizzas to choose from. I ended up choosing one which had pulled pork on it, but I probably would choose something else if I came back, as it tasted just a little too much like a BBQ sandwich :) My fault, though. The crust was definitely tasty and all of the pizzas looked tasty. They also had some pretty interesting beverages - I got myself a bottle of blackberry tea and definitely enjoyed it. Great little find in downtown Princeton. Was meandering the streets looking for a solid dinner spot that could appeal to our group and pizza always wins out when there are multiple opinions haha. This place is nestled between a bunch of different eateries gathering plenty of foot traffic. The parking situation is a bit sparse, but if you go down a block or two, you'll be able to grab a spot without much issue - there are paid and free spots around. I grabbed a free spot and took the short walk over. We hit the dinner rush, as it was pretty busy inside, but not raucous. We grabbed a paper menu and perused by the big window before walking up and placing our order. The place is long more than it's wide, with self table seating up front and the ordering in the rear. The process is pretty simple, ordering at the counter with any of the attendants (they use the Square technology and an iPad to ring you out, so there isn't a formal register to queue through), and then one of the servers will deliver to your table. I liked all the veggie friendly options on their menu. There are a variety of pizza crusts to choose from - appealing towards many dietary needs, and even salad options (but like why? haha.) The menu was expansive with the recipes already available, but if nothing looks just right, there is a make your own option for pizza. We chose the Veggie #9 and Veggie #13 for our group and just family styled the experience. Impressed with the flavor packed into the thin crust. I enjoyed my slices without feeling overwhelmed, and even had leftovers for later! The restaurant does have the standard pizza toppings to add at your leisure (black pepper, red crush pepper, oregano, etc.) - but honestly didn't feel the need given the flavor packed crust and toppings on our pizza choices. The use of fresh ingredients is apparent and I could tell the place likes to play with flavors and ingredients to deliver quality. The workers were nice and quick with our order and were able to answer our questions thoroughly. I also liked that they were quick with bussing tables so can keep the flow of traffic moving. I don't who Jules is but I like his/her pizza. I stopped in here for lunch after the neighboring mamoun's falafel was under renovation. I don't normally eat carbs, but I was thrilled to have stopped in This Pizza place. The crust has a crispy snap to it like no other place I've been to in the U.S. The only other place I had such a crispy crunch was in Italy. When you order a slice it's kinda like getting two small slices. I ordered two slices and it did fill me up. If I was inebriated I could probably polish off a whole pie. I forgot what pizzas I had, both were meat, and both were tasty. There was a party going on in my mouth. If you're craving pizza, don't let the GF (gluuutennnnn freeeee) word scare you off. Thin crust pizza, quick service, lots of varieties, and decent prices - what more could I ask for. I came with my family on a Sunday evening around 6:30 and found it to be crowd free! There are a variety of veggie and meat thin crust pizzas already made on display along the counter and you simply order by the slice. The 4 of us ordered 6 slices and it was plenty ( granted 2/4 aren't big eaters). Loved: - veggie #12 (edamame, ricotta, goat cheese etc) - meat #3 (chicken, tomatoes, onions etc) - meat #8 (buffalo chicken) - veggie #7 (zucchini, corn etc) Wasn't a huge fan of the Mexican veggie slice ( veggie #9) or the pesto artichoke slice ( veggie #3) but both slices were decent and still finished. 3.5 stars It's a cute concept and I loved pie by slice when I was in Italy. You can either choose from the wide selection of pies that are out and then get that slice heated up again, or get a custom pie made (it's surprisingly fast). These are truly thin crust pizzas with crunchy crusts, rather than bready fluffy crusts. There's a good variety of vegetarian pizzas and those who are vegan can create their own pizza with vegan cheese. I found that 2 slices of pizza were enough to fill me up. I tried Kim's Pie (chicken, caramelized onions, balsamic BBQ sauce, chives) and Veggie #11 (kale, apples, red onions, mandarin oranges, lemon vinaigrette and mozzarella). They had very distinctively different flavors and I enjoyed alternating between taking a bite from each of the pizzas. Unfortunately I wasn't too impressed by Kim's Pie, found the chicken a bit dry although the caramelized mushrooms added great flavor. Jules Thin Crust is a trendy spot in downtown Princeton. Parking can be a bit tough, but there is street parking available and it's within walking distance of the main street of shops. I was seriously impressed by not only the large variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian pizza offerings but also the use of locally sourced ingredients. The taco and zucchini flatbreads both featured unique flavor profiles and had great sauce blends. The plain pizza was thin and crispy with a juicy sauce that had a sugary taste to it. I have a severe milk allergy, so I order a pizza with vegan cheese. They reassured me no animal cheese, or milk products was next to the vegan cheese when preparing the pizza. I asked for the pizza not to be cut, as the knife has to be washed with soap in order to be okay to cut the pizza for a severe milk allergy like mine. They said they wouldn't cut it. When I picked the pie up, they had cut the pizza. I said unfortunately you will need to make this pizza again, as I asked for it not cut. They said they actually opened a brand new knife never been used before to cut my pizza. I said, oh really? That's interesting , thank you but I would have felt safer with it not cut, like I requested. When I got home, my first two bites of the pizza my mouth started severely itching and I developed a fat hived lip, resulting in my hiving to take Benadryl. Love this place! I've eaten here twice. Once for my birthday and once before a Paper Source workshop. They have so many different kinds of pizza on the menu, from meat lovers (no thanks) to vegan pizza. I usually go for a margarita style and I usually get about 2 slices or so. I've never had an issue with finding seating, unless it's super busy. Their pizza crust is thin, but lovely. And the sauces and other ingredients are fresh and delicious. Sweet spot in Princeton for layer-thin pizzas! It's more on a gourmet eatery so expect a higher price than your usual pizza joint, and hey, it's Princeton! (even though the price isn't bad, really). You select the pizza from the variety of pies on the counter, either by the whole pie or by the slice. They will then put your order on a slowwwww moving conveyor over behind the counter and once it finally pops out on the other side, you are served a delicious delicacy that would surely please your taste buds. Tried the ahsome potato carbonara, surprisingly delicious (to me at least) artichoke pizza, BBQ chicken and also one simply called Kim's Pie. All of them are mouth-watering to look at, and once you sink your teeth into them, you can't stop. This modern, simplistic informal restaurant is on the busy Witherspoon street so expect a challenging search for a parking spot if you come at dinner time, but it's well-rewarded. Be in the mood for a thin crust pizza when you come because that's all they serve. They serve it VERY well though. They've mastered the thing crust and don't want to stray from perfection. This location is featured on Witherspoon St, home to most of Princeton's prominent independent/smalltime eateries within walking distance, and hosting a few small chains. Delivery can be possible if you're in the town. Inside, there's spacious seating & tables, a gallery of most of their pizzas, and menus for their pizzas (either fixed recipes or custom DIYs), salads. Sweets/desserts would be cookies and brownies, pre-packaged. Menu can be pizzas, divided into meat or vegetarian options (includes cheese/plain, but vegan options are available upon request). Pricing is modest for what it's worth, and pizzas can either be done: by slice (from what you see), mini (4 slices in a square formation), medium (2 minis / 8 slices), or large (3 minis / 12 slices), and for those with gluten intolerance, there's also GF crust for the aforementioned options. Pizzas would take no more than 10 minutes to finish, and service is almost instant if you order slices inside or pre-order online/by phone. My opinion, I only seldom go here since it's way too far from my general area in North NJ (this is the "closest" location to me at 50mi), and would go here in Princeton for affordable eats w/o splurge.
