Greetings Yelpers! It's been a while since I have "Yelped", mainly because the wife and I have started a very aggressive and strict diet program that has significantly changed what and how we eat. Still, we like to go out every once in a while, especially when family is in town. We were looking for something around that area on Sudley Rd which would be both diet-friendly and have breakfast and lunch options for our guests. After considering the options in the area, we decided to roll the dice and give the Juke Box Diner another try. The family with us was my in-laws, who were with us for our last experience here that earned my last review. So they were understandably skeptical. However, we were glad that we came. Like the reviews show, this place can be a bit of a "crap shoot". Both their food and service have received poor marks. Outside of a couple of minor misses, the food quality has never been an issue here with me. And the food quality was again strong. I went with a house salad topped with salmon, expecting a salad with chunks of salmon. Instead, I got a freshly cooked piece of salmon served over a house salad with dressing on the side. All components were good. My father in law ordered the same platter as before - only this time it came as advertised, no mistakes. My wife ordered a tuna wrap, and my mother-in-law opted for a special - a spinach and mushroom quiche. Both were happy with their meals. Service, however, has always been a HUGE issue here. This time, the service was spot on. Part of that may have been because they simply weren't busy - rather surprising for a place that serves breakfast all day to be that empty at around noon on a Sunday. My guess is that their service problems has led to a lot of people not coming back, and now they can handle the smaller volume of business they do get. Additionally, we could tell our server was experienced and knew what he was doing. If he was helping someone else and wasn't able to take our order, he still acknowledged us and said he would be back. He kept the coffee filled. He checked on us. And just as I was thinking "this is taking a tad too long" the food came out. Time from order to service has been another huge problem here, and this was the best experience I've had here in that respect. Still, I can't go back to 4 stars because the place just seems a bit "depressed" because of the lack of clientele. At the section we were sitting, there was a section of the booth that was just ripped out, with the wood exposed. And despite the lack of customers, it seemed that dirty tables sat a long time, waiting to get bussed. I would give 3.5 stars maybe, and I will go back again. I've been going to this place one a week for years and I've really enjoyed everything that I've ordered. The service is great, as is the ambiance. The servers and manager are as nice as they can be, it is truly a pleasure interacting with them whether I'm alone or with someone. The decor and the music really add to the experience, so those are definitely pluses. My only problem with Jukebox diner is that I have a couple of dishes that I really enjoy and I end up ordering them most of the time. I need to try other things, I know that I'm missing something. Ahhh what a gem this place is! My boyfriend and I were headed to a different restaurant but saw Jukebox Diner and made a u-turn to try it! Totally worth waiting at the 2 lights to get back to it. He ordered the Dean Martin Favorite with a blueberry waffle and loved it! I ordered the chicken and waffles which comes with eggs over-medium (normally never comes with eggs at other places) I added loaded hash browns and it was all perfect! Even the eggs were cooked to perfection! Erich, our server was awesome! So warm and friendly. Paid close attention to our needs despite the fact he got busy! We highly recommend this place and will definitely be returning! read more

Breakfast is great here! Especially the Eggs Benedict. They always get my eggs and bacon just hope I like them. Ask for Erich or Sean. Both both are very friendly and attentive. read more

Food does not really have any taste but you definitely know its good quality food because when you add a little hot sauce and salt and pepper , Voila ! great meal ! kind of pricey for a diner as well but that comes with the area its in. read more

This is an excellent place for some delicious breakfast entrees. We've stopped here several times after attending church at Bethel Lutheran. (Services are at 8 & 11 am on Sunday's). Our orders this time came from the sandwich & entree sections and everything was delicious. The portion sizes are very good and you get solid value for the prices. Also love the atmosphere of a 50's 60's diner. Our server, was extremely attentive and checked on us often and even struck up engaging conversation. We definitely will be coming here more in the future. read more

I've been eating at Jukebox Diner now for years, primarily for breakfast. I almost always get the ham scramble. It comes with perfectly silky scrambled egg, chopped cubes of ham, and cheddar cheese, as well as home fries that are absolutely delicious. They also serve a really mean gyro and burger at this place. Also, you can order food online for delivery or takeout. read more

Food is good but the service is slow. We've gone quite a few times but now know better than to go if we're in a hurry.

We were seated by a lovely waitress. However, the manager Sean (or Shawn however you spell it) publicly yelled at the female waitress in front of customers in such a way that the waitress then informed us another waiter would be taking over. The waitress then left and we did not see her again. This was so unprofessional and I was shocked this matter was not handled privately. Food was very good though. read more

Had a craving for dessert other then a shake or a frost. I grew up in Annandale so I knew there was a Jukebox out there and since My husband and I live out in Manassas now we figured we'd give this one a try. It was a good bet. The prices were reasonable and the selection was good. The 50's atmosphere was nice and it was a quiet night so not too busy. The server we had was nice and didn't hover. I got a banana split and my husband got the brownie sundae. Both were amazing. The brownie tasted fresh in the sundae and we got real hot fudge on both desserts. We will definitely be going back to try the food. So excited to finally have a new place to go! read more

I often go there with my Mom for breakfast. We always enjoy the food and the service is great. We typically get one of the combo specials with eggs, sausage, etc. Their sausage and bacon is great but would pass on the ham. Really enjoy the pancakes but would pass on the French toast. read more

Juke Box Diner is our 'go to' place for breakfast and lunch when we have appointments near Prince William Hospital. It's SO convenient. Food is consistently good--grilled reuben sandwich, bacon & eggs, hot soup, and gyro are some of our favorites. This place is cute. Had high hopes. Appetizer was hot and fresh, but it came without the dips described on the menu. The server misunderstood one order, but she was fine otherwise. The cook(?) who brought it out offered to remedy that, but we were on a time crunch. The server was a nice person clearly doing her best. The other order didn't come as described on the menu, with cranberry sauce. Sometimes you want a nice preview of a thanksgiving meal. The turkey gravy had an orange tint rather than brown and didn't taste like traditional turkey gravy. I happened to completely dislike the soup I ordered, but that's perhaps just personal preference. The manager/owner has a very casual and joking demeanor, which is totally fine. However, he also seems self-important, so much so that he completely monopolized the server's time. It was basically an empty restaurant, so maybe he thought she wasn't busy. He seemed to be teaching or mansplaining something to her for quite a long time, and she wasn't able to come to our table to check on drinks. I had overheard a neighboring customer get a military discount. When I asked about it and the manager/owner told me that it was just for the military member, not the whole family, he also added in, "Hey, I got to pay the rent." And you know, I can respect that. However, I think that the rent $ would be flowing in if he let his server(s) serve (silverware for all seated, drink refills, napkins, etc.) and if there was some quality control on what leaves the kitchen to make sure it matches the menu. Not to especially nitpick, but there was a lot to be desired on the cleanliness side, like dirt around the ceiling vents. There is absolutely room for teaching and joking and being chummy with staff or customers, but you also need an eye for detail. Things like that come from the top down. I hope this restaurant improves, but we likely won't be back to see if it does. ETA the manager/owner did begrudgingly give a discount to the whole ticket. So there's that, although it I didn't ask for it. read more

I went to the diner with my boyfriend and as soon as we were seated the table was dirty and we saw a bug on the salt shakers, our server came to greet us and rushed us to order our food, we asked for our food and when it came to our table we noticed we got the wrong item and she didn't come over once to ask how everything was till I got her attention because she was too busy talking with the other co workers , we told her that we got the wrong item and she kept arguing with us, this was one of the worst service ever! at least have a little bit of an understanding because at the end of the day we are paying!!! read more

A favorite gathering spot for some of the Manassas Baptist crowd. Bonnie always gives us great service and good food. Good prices and great variety of dishes. Juke Box Diner always accommodates our crowd no matter how large. We have requested the music to be turned down so we can talk and they also accommodate. A nice family environment too. read more

This place is amazing!! I was in the area for an event and we decided to stop at a diner because we love them, picked this place at random and LOVE IT!! We went two nights in a row. The place has an awesome space with very cool decor and great people! Also the food is reasonably priced and tastes AMAZING!!! Please consider this if near by. :) read more

Had a "hankering" for meatloaf....and stopped in on a whim. Couldn't have asked for a nicer experience. Cici, the new waitress was very nice and prompt with food and refills. Shawn the manager made sure to stop and say hello and spend an extra few minutes chatting about kids, family, etc. If you are looking for a good meal with big portions and TOP NOTCH service, then this is the place to be - it is a chain so don't expect gourmet fare. Jukebox Diner is exactly what you'd expect -- it's plain, lacking spunk and has a plethora of menu items. The decor isn't inspiring, but honestly, it's a diner. If you've done diners before you get exactly what you've come to expect. We stopped for breakfast, and the food was pretty good (though a little on the salty side). My omelet was chock full o' meat, and pretty filling. My wife got biscuits and gravy (which can easily be hit or miss) but it was pretty good. Overall everything was good. In the end, it's a diner. The food's good, not great, and there's something for everyone. The prices are a little high for what you get, but it's not enough to break the bank. read more

We ordered for delivery at 12:20 and did not receive the food until around 1:50. I called around 1:15 and was told the driver had just left with my order and would be there "soon." 1:40 rolls around and I call back only to be told it'll be there "soon" and I should call back if the driver isn't there within 10 minutes. The food was luckily still warm. We ordered "The Tower", a country fried steak, and a three stack of pancakes with chocolate chips. The Tower's corned beef was was good, the poached eggs were good, but the fried potatoes were bland and may as well have been boiled. The country fried steak and gravy were phenomenal! Unfortunately, the scrambled eggs were also very bland even with cheese. And because it was so late the "toast" that came with it was incredibly soggy. The pancakes were decent, it's kind of hard to mess up pancakes ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. The food was pretty good, I may give going there a try sometime. But, after reading some other delivery reviews I feel like they should just not offer delivery. read more

We ate here on 7/29/2011. The pros: It's not a chain; the food is ok (we had gyro salad and the kids had burgers and fries). The cons: We had a long wait for what is essentially short order food; We could see the waiters queued up for their orders. The restaurant space is very large, causing the decibel level to increase exponentially. A large number of restaurants have been in this location before, and all have failed. maybe this one will have better luck. read more
