dirty table, been here since the moment we sat down

I'm only giving this place one star because it won't let me give zero. the management of this place is extremely terrible. me and my girlfriend walked in and got sat, waited over 30 minutes to even get service while i sat there visibly looking at four people sitting there doing nothing. there were tables that were dirty right near us. our waiter who was extremely nice and amazing told us she had to do everything around here. she's a hard worker who had to work 5 tables by herself. The only good thing I have to say about this place is the food which I give a 8/10.

Cajun Crab legs, shrimp and clams

One of the better Seafood Restaurant in the Rochester area. Ordered Cajun crab legs, clams, shrimp and some lobster tails. Also ordered a few varieties with just steam and butter. Cajun sauce was fantastic, seafood was fresh and portions were very generous. Potatoes and corn is included with the combo orders. Restaurant was clean and service was good as well. Thank you

Rochester 5, but 3.5-4 compared to places in California. Did a takeout of the Christmas Special (2 pounds snow crab, 1 lb lobster, 2 lb headless shrimp, 1 lb mussels, 1 lb clams, corn and potatoes). We got the juicy special with medium spice. It was a FANTASTIC deal. So much hot, delicious seafood. I would say that the actual sauce was just okay (I feel like I always could use more garlic) and it was a little salty for me. The snow crab legs were huge and tasty and the clams were great. Corn and potatoes were large and they didn't skimp on that. This is a good place for seafood in terms of very great prices and specials. Would come back.

Ever since Joe's Crab Shack and the Original Crab Shack closed, Rochester hasn't had a seafood restaurant like that. The restaurant reminds me of Boiling Crab in California. The interior is nautical theme with wood and rope everywhere. You can sign the walls and benches if you can find a permanent marker. After a 10 minute wait we were seated. The host lined a piece of white paper on our table. She then brought over a bucket lined with trash bag that included bibs and gloves. There is a sink on the back wall. I ordered Combo Special A: black mussels, shrimp and snow crab with the juicy special seasoning. It came with corn and 2 potatoes. This was $25 and very filling. It was good minus the fact I didn't get anything to break the crab legs. I also ordered french fries, it comes lightly breaded with cajun seasoning. I really enjoyed the fries. Both times I that I dined here were on a Saturday. The line was long and out the door. It was very disorganized in the waiting area. The floors had garbage from the previous patrons. No one had bothered to clean it up. The first time we dined here our waitress was all over the place. She would tell us one thing and do another. For example, she was ready to take our orders and as soon as we said our order, she said she would be back. She was scatter brain and just a hot mess. DO NOT order the raw oysters. They are from Mexico, most oysters in this area are from the Northeast. The oysters were too meaty and chewy. I would return here when I am in the mood for a variety of seafood smothered in sauce.

Definitely not a bad idea to come here to get a seafood boil, most of the spots here that offered them don't have good seasonings or either the corn and potatoes are over cooked or old but this spot is very delicious. The wait wasn't bad for the amount of guest that was in the restaurant, but it was freezing, even the waiters had coats on lol. But once you start eating then you get hot and feel better. Bring a friend and crack some crabs open, good portions for the prices, me and my family always spilt a bag

Combo #1: 1/2lb black mussels, crab legs, and shrimp (no head)

Juicy Seafood has become a staple in the Rochester area. Located in the Henrietta area, This spot has been a favorite amongst my friends and now it has grown on me! I usually order the Create Your Own: 1/2lb clams, crab legs, and shrimp (no head). The first time here, I chose the juicy special seasoning and turned the temperature of spice to hot. Well-seasoned, not over cooked, and the bag included corn and potatoes! I purchased a side of sticky rice (a must) to soak up the seasoned juice that was leftover in the bag. So good! The second time coming here, I picked the combo option of mussels, legs, and shrimp. I turned the temperature down to mild. I will say, the spice level WAS underwhelming (My mistake). The seasoning did taste different. This time around, the thyme overpowered the rest of the seasoning. Wasn't all that bad after squeezing some lemon in the bag, but definitely a different taste. I'll be returning soon!

Yah know when you have food regret.... this is it. I'm also just not a fan of an establishment that has patrons signing the walls, which, just saying our wait staff forgot to give us a marker. There's the word bi$#& and cross outs and it's just that if I wanted that I'd go to a dive and expect to pay 6.99 a plate. I certainly wouldn't bring my family to a place with swear words on the walls. So there was some repetition due to communication challenges. Although very kind and truly trying their best. I don't want to jeopardize any jobs so I will spare details. We did have to ask for the wet naps and silverware and refills of water but maybe the person was off their game due to the food requests. I had the make your own with green mussel, black mussel, clam, shrimp no head hot juicy mix of seasoning which was good. I'm always suspicious of already opened seafood, the green mussels were halved, some had broken shells, some of the black mussels didn't open and also had broken shells mmmmm no thanks. The shrimp and tiny clams however, were quite good. The tatos were well cooked, the corn chewy and tough. Chicken (impulse purchase) wings well done w sweet chili, I figured why not since 99% of the staff are Asian. They were ok, fried well w standard jarred sweet chili sauce dumped on. My pal was able to order her seafood special with no butter but that also meant no seasoning. I'm not sure why what you would assume is a spice blend couldn't just be shaken on top but we were told that you couldn't cook any of the seafood without butter. So in an attempt to have some other flavor cocktail sauce was requested, and caused confusion. Eventually we were asked "is cocktail sauce the red one", yup it is and we were brought marinara. Also if you didn't want potato and only corn they wouldn't substitute without an up charge, only a dollar but really? (also silly cause the corn was not delicious) The surrounding tables also ordered the special and their servings looked much more substantial.

I checked in and coupon came up for 10% off; great well no. The coupon was for Halloween October. Why would they leave it attached and NOT honor the coupon? Good business practice would be to honor their advertisement. The food was served with a quick turn around after ordering. I had to call for assist about three times which is indicative that the server could check in on the party more often after the meal was served. The food was good and the experience has room for improvement.

Finding myself with some free time and having heard about this place. I roped my fellow Yelper, Jenny, into a lunch date. Wasn't quite sure of what to expect but I'm always down for seafood which isn't easy to find in Roc! I was surprised it was table service. I'd put it in a fast casual category. The menu was interesting with some errors - spelling errors, butter listed as a seasoning but it's not a seasoning, and so forth. I have to say the prices are definitely reasonable. They have fried options and bakes! I opted for the special bake of the day which cake with shrimp, crab legs, crawfish and corn and potatoes (I did not taste the corn or potato). For $20, I was impressed with the portions! Our server, Oliver, was entertaining and had no problens rolling with us. Asking questions, returning Jenny's cold fries, etc. I will say I asked for the Medium level spice and barely felt a kick so if you like heat, kick it up a notch higher than you think you need. The only disappointing thing was that I asked for a side of butter and I'm 99% sure that the "butter" provided was fake movie theater popcorn butter. Next time, I go, don't be surprised if I bring actual butter with me. I'm just sayin....

1lb shrimp (top) and combo D (bottom)

I was craving seafood sooooo much one night and finally decided to check out Juicy Seafood! We had to get take out since this was during the quarantine. Ordering over the phone was easy enough, though be aware that some of their menus online such as from grubhub or door dash is not super updated so prices may vary. I wish I had known about the family pack because that would have saved me some money, but it's ok, I didn't mind spending a little extra to help businesses at this time. We ordered the combo A (mussels, shrimp and crab), combo D (shrimp and crab) and an extra lb of shrimp. We both got the juicy seasoning and you get a choice of mild, medium or hot, which we both went with medium. The sauce was just right for a medium hotness. Everything was ready in 20 minutes and came in well packaged to-go boil bags! The mussels were a little lack luster, I honestly would skip this one. They don't absorb any flavor and they're kind of tiny so it just adds to the weight of your boil. The shrimps however were our favorite! They were tender, de-veined very well and juicy! We like to smother it in the sauce again after we peel the skin off. The crabs were also delicious. I was skeptical about their size when ordering since most restaurants tend to skimp on the portion but my bf got 1/4 of a crab for his half lb and i got half a crab I believe for my 1lb of crab combo. There were a lot of legs and quite a bit of meat. The crab meat was sweet and salty and just so yummies! One warning though with the crab, obviously they can't give you the metal crab cracker thing and we had a bit of trouble with the thicker crab claws. We managed though, maybe get a hammer ready or something if you don't have a crab cracker at home. Also, we definitely did not need that extra lb of shrimp between the two of us (we do eat a lot) but it was soooo good the next day too. The boil bags come with potatoes and corn which were so soft and delicious. Pair your boil with rice to maximize fullness and really make use of all the sauce. Check out this place and be ready to get messy!

I must start this review off by saying, Rochester has some good restaurants! Secondly, I have never eaten somewhere they bring you a bucket o' seafood in a bag full of sauce. That being said, I don't have a frame of reference. Maybe there are better places that serve seafood smothered in sauce. Also, it seems at Juicy Seafood, the day of the week and time you show up impacts your experience. I went on a Thursday at 8 and I had a great dinner. The exterior of the restaurant is warm but looks like a repurposed Ihop. The interior is inviting but not unique. The servers seemed helpful, fun and up to answer any questions. After the brown paper goes over the table....it's game on!! I ordered a combo, there are baskets and other items on the menu but for my buck, combos are the way to go. I got the juicy seasoning at medium spice. It was good and just mildly warm. Next time I will try hot. FYI, juicy sauce is friggin amazing. They should sell bottles of it. It's so good....some would probably drink it. ‍ The seafood was great and the corn and potatoes complemented it well. Meal portions are excellent, you get a lot for your buck. Next time I will probably order a extra corn. Corn with juicy sauce is tight! I enjoyed my visit. I will likely return and I will recommend this place to friends. You will lika the juice!

I didn't know what to expect when I pulled into the the Juicy Seafood (JS) parking lot, adjacent to Wendy's. I was greeted by a beautiful array of lights on trees, which proved to be an amazing spot for post-meal photographs!! However, given Henrietta Rd. is not Henrietta Oceanfront, our expectations were that of a Rochestarian suburban eatery. Upon walking into JS, I was immediately greeted by all the signatures on the wall, a homey touch to our dining experience. As we sat in our seats, we were promptly welcomed by unexpected six-legged friends - . Now, we don't know if this was related to the HUMIDITY or JS's juicy cuisine (which may also appeal to ants), but it was certainly a surprise. After a slightly complicated ordering process, we got to listen to today's best hits on the John Tesch radio show, such as "Dancing With a Stranger." When the food arrived, I was faced with three baskets of fries, one of which I didn't order. Any seafood comes in a broil bag, turned upside down, which helped keep the heat and flavor (and JUICE!) contained until we enjoyed our seafood, sausage, and chicken tenders. The fries did need a little extra salt, and we were delighted to be provided with sea salt, which me reminded me of the ocean ;). We did have to remind them about our calamari order, which apparently explained the extra fries! Cajun and calamari are pretty similar ;) Overall, the food was decent and the atmosphere was enjoyable. Service was appropriate for the restaurant. Conveniently located sink outside of bathroom for hand washing needs. Would I come again? Not intentionally. But, JS may be in my future if I ever find myself aimlessly wandering the streets of Henrietta.

I ordered the pasta and shrimp special, which was absolutely delicious and full of flavor. Unfortunately, my daughter is vegetarian and ordered the Gnocchi Rossi, which was quite disappointing. It lacked flavor and was very bland compared to my meal. The biggest downside of our visit was the service. We were trying to enjoy some quality mother-daughter time together, but our waitress interrupted us constantly--almost every time we took a bite. We repeatedly assured her that everything was fine, yet she continued coming back to the table. At one point, while we were still actively eating, she asked if we were ready for boxes. When I said no, she replied, "Oh, okay, you're just taking your time." It definitely felt like we were being rushed rather than encouraged to relax and enjoy our meal. To top it off, we were never offered dessert or after-meal options. Despite feeling a bit rushed and annoyed by the constant interruptions, we still left a good tip because the waitress was working hard and remained polite. Overall, the food was a mixed experience, the atmosphere was wonderful, but the service made what should have been a relaxing mother-daughter lunch feel hurried.

I'm very forgiving when it comes to a bad experience at a place I go to often. In the last couple of years I've had some really bad experiences where the food is just not good. Last year I door dashed an order that arrived cold. The manager did try to make it right but not without another manager being informed or any kind of log. I had tried the breaded fish. That was mediocre at best. Not memorable. Last night I gave it another chance. I ordered 10 Tullys tenders (because that is the ONLY reason to eat here.,) a potato soup, a peanut butter pie and the monkey strawberry shortcake thing. I got there and waited inside. My food came out, they checked it was right, took a payment and I drive my food 1.5 miles. I got it home and it was barely warm. There is no way my food would cool down that fast in that short amount of time. This isn't the first time I've done this. The chicken was crunchy but lukewarm. The chicken seemed a bit chewy and kind of fatty. Some of them were huge and others were skinny. There was no consistency. The soup was not hot either. There was no cheese or chives on it like I thought there would be. It was kind of water. It just wasn't that good. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't something thought I'd ever want again. I ordered the new strawberry monkey bread shortcake. It came with one little tiny ramekin of strawberries. A huge mound of fried tasteless bread I think and I asked for no ice cream but they forgot the whipped cream. It was 100% awful. It was gross. I'm not going to mince words. The only decent thing was the peanut butter mousse cake which is a sure thing. Three bad experiences in a row is enough to make me decide that I will not be going back.

Unfortunately, this Mother's Day 5/10/26 experience was disappointing enough that I felt compelled to leave a review. We had reservations for 3:30 PM on Mother's Day, and in the special request section of the reservation, I clearly specified that this was a Mother's Day celebration. I also requested a quiet or private booth and mentioned that my daughter is vegetarian. Upon arrival, we were seated upstairs directly next to what appeared to be an employee service area. We could constantly hear employees talking, dishes being washed or thrown around, and overall it was easily the loudest table in the restaurant. What made this more frustrating was that another couple seated next to us complained loudly about their table and caused a scene. Although staff initially explained the restaurant was full, they were eventually moved. Meanwhile, we had politely requested a better table in advance through the reservation system, yet because we were patient and understanding, it felt like we were simply ignored. Service throughout the meal was inconsistent and inattentive. It took quite a while before anyone took our drink order. The wine menu presented to me only included wines by the glass, despite the fact that I later saw servers bringing full bottles of wine and champagne to other tables. I wanted to order a bottle of champagne for the occasion, but by the time our waitress finally arrived, I didn't want to complicate things further. Another detail that stood out was the complete lack of acknowledgment for Mother's Day. I overheard our waitress enthusiastically wishing other tables a "Happy Mother's Day" and asking if they were celebrating anything special, yet she never once acknowledged me or our celebration. My husband ordered a piña colada and was told they could not make one, so he settled for a strawberry martini that was overwhelmingly sweet and unenjoyable. We chose not to complain. The food itself, as always, was excellent and truly the highlight of the evening. However, the service continued to feel rushed and impersonal. I was planning to order my favorite espresso martini after dinner, but instead the bill was simply dropped at the table without anyone asking if we wanted dessert or another drink. One employee who was handling bread and water service also made us feel rushed. While I was literally still chewing my food, she interrupted to ask, "Should I bag that for you?" It made me feel like we were being pushed out. I was also disappointed that despite specifically mentioning my daughter was vegetarian in the reservation notes, our waitress never offered vegetarian suggestions or asked about dietary restrictions. At most upscale restaurants, this level of attentiveness is expected. The most upsetting part of the evening, however, was what felt like dismissive and unprofessional behavior toward us as Latinos. My husband has an accent, and our waitress repeatedly pretended not to understand him. At one point, after commenting on his accent, she laughed and said, "Or maybe I'm deaf." We found this rude, uncomfortable, and inappropriate for a restaurant of this caliber. Ironically, despite the poor experience, I still tipped over 20% -- more than $100 from our table alone -- because I did not want to reinforce unfair stereotypes about Latinos not tipping. Black & Blue has always justified its upscale pricing through excellent food and outstanding hospitality, which is why this experience was so disappointing. While the food remains exceptional, the atmosphere has become extremely loud and chaotic, to the point where it reminded me more of Red Lobster than the elevated dining experience this restaurant once offered. I truly hope management takes customer service more seriously moving forward, because this visit was nowhere near the standard Black & Blue used to represent.

The chairs in the Meyer's Den are wide and comfortable, the decor is dark and classy, and being in the basement away from the dining room made it very quiet and easy to converse with family. The room is rather spacious for 12 guests, but could also accommodate a few more people without feeling cramped. Out of the appetizers we selected, the Charred Octopus was very popular and everyone enjoyed it...even those that had never previously eaten octopus. The baby cauliflower dish was also a beautiful presentation, and quite large and enjoyable. The salads, particularly the Charred Hurricane salad, were nice light courses before the entree was served. As for the entrees, the filet mignon was a little on the dry side, but we really enjoyed the light and crispy spinach fritters that accompanied the beef. The salmon was a generous portion of medium rare fish, and there was lot going on with that dish - spicy cauliflower and za'atar potatoes that had some mixed reviews. Folks who ordered the duck breast seemed to enjoy the complex preparation, which had asparagus, green beans, and two pureed sauces - cauliflower ginger and cherry-rhubarb. The doughnut bread pudding with apple pieces and vanilla ice cream was a delicious, decadent way to end the meal. We left rather stuffed, and delighted with the overall experience that allowed our family to celebrate together.

For appetizers, we got the roasted beets and the bone marrow. Both were good. I got the duck breast for entree and my friends got the carrot cavatelli and lobster bucatini. We all enjoyed our dishes. The duck was succulent and roasted just enough. The Brussel sprouts that came on the side were a disappointment though. For dessert, I ordered ricotta pine nut tart with lemon sorbet. The tart was very subtle in flavor but good. My friends ordered the bread pudding which was great as well. Overall, very satisfied with the food and service. Can be back!

The servers are not just taking orders, they actually understand the menu, the ingredients, the pairings. You can ask questions and get real answers. At one point I thought, these aren't bartenders, they're scientists. The level of knowledge and attention to detail is just different. The food completely lived up to that same standard. Every single person at the table was happy with their meal, which honestly says a lot. No one was picking around their plate or wishing they ordered something else. The chef clearly knows what they're doing. Everything was thoughtful, balanced, and just really, really good. Quick note on dessert though. It didn't quite match the level of the rest of the menu. Not bad, just not on the same level. If you're trying to be strategic, you can probably skip it and leave happy. Parking is easy, which I always appreciate. You've got valet or you can self park, so no stress there. If you're in Rochester, you really can't skip Redd Wood. It's one of those places that makes the whole dining experience feel elevated without being over the top. Definitely worth it.

For the price, we were completely underwhelmed For starters, we ordered two different cocktails. The May queen was fabulous the bebbo was tasty, but you couldn't taste any gin in it We started with the Lyonnaise salad , smoked beets, Swedish meatballs, tuna tartare and chicken wings The salad was our favorite, the tuna lacked flavor and we detected no smokiness in the beets. The meatballs were light and the sauce flavorful, would've loved a few more June berries. Chicken wings were nicely spiced and no too saucy For the main we shared 2 steak frites- a bit more well done than the medium rare ordered but tender and tasty, fries are great- bordelaise sauce didn't have the depth of flavor I expected. For dessert we shared the lemon poppyseed cake and chocolate mouse. The cake was light and Lemony with a hint of poppyseed flavor. The mousse was very odd- super pale in color and the crunchy bits on top did not pair well with the texture of the mousse Service was attentive, sometimes a bit too much- reaching across the table to fill waters... maybe leave a bottle on the table? It was a completely male staff... Male servers, male, valets, male bartenders. We did wonder where the women were.

Service was kind, and the server had mentioned that her own mother was cooking in the back, which was a warm touch to mama's cooking Spicy Pork Bulgogi was tasty, and did have a little bit of a spicier punch to it. It complimented very well with the white rice, added with the Soondubu Jjigae. I wish the Dolsot Bibimbap had the crunch from the crispy rice on the bottom of the bowl, but unfortunately the bowl was probably not hot enough for the rice to crisp on the bottom. To order, you must order at the counter, bring your table number to your table, and then pay at the counter while bringing your table number after you are done eating. There are lots of seating options, so finding a table for 5 was not too difficult.
