Mac and cheese, rice and peas, oxtail, plantain, jerk chicken

Delicious food. This place is more so of a take out spot but the food speaks for itself. Never had any trouble with the service. Would definitely recommend.

This restaurant gave me life. Because I have had more than my share of jerk chicken and curry chicken, I ordered brown stew chicken instead. That along with some rice and peas, cabbage, and plantains. The portions weren't skimpy and the flavor was not flat. If I find out this restaurant was here before I left in 1995 and I didn't go before I left, I will scream.

I just ordered 2 curry chicken dinners the rice is disgusting it taste like they burnt it. I tried calling 14x and couldn't get an answer!

I wouldn't recommend this place. I ordered two curry chicken dinners and the rice tastes burnt so I tried calling to let them know. After placing 14 calls I couldn't get one answer so I tried contacting them through Facebook messenger on their business page and couldn't get anyone. I'm on my lunch break so I don't have much time now I have to drive 7.5 miles after work and hope their still open. Wasted my lunch break and I'm still hungry! Smh "This Ain't It!"

Jerk salad

Stopped in for a quick lunch. I was craving a jerk chicken salad. It was at 2:00 on a Tuesday, and we were the only customers in there. We were served fairly quickly. As for my jerk salad, the salad was so fresh and crisp, topped with a plentiful amount of chicken. There was just the right amount of sauce on the chicken so that it wasn't drowned in sauce, but also wasn't dry. The jerk sauce itself is really something else! Sweet, tangy, and very unique. The chicken was really high quality--cooked well, with more meat than bone. It was also fairly easy to pull apart, so that I could eat this meal with a fork alone. The jerk does have a bit of a kick to it, although I'm a fan of spicy, so I added some hot sauce for an even bigger kick. My boyfriend thought it was spicy. Also, this meal was ridiculously cheap. You can't go wrong with this place.

Oxtail meal with rice covered in gravy and cabbage

This food is so good and I would go back every day if I could. I had the medium oxtail meal with white rice and cabbage and it was amazing. I also got the side of Mac and cheese and it was so creamy and cheesy I went back and bought another portion. When I got to my aunts house she tasted my food and drove down the street to get her own f

Authentic home cooked Jamaican food. Everything was sooo good!!

The place is clean, spacious, plenty tables to sit. I just picked up some food to go. I did eat the pâté while waiting on my chicken and rice. It was a bit doughy but very flavorful and spicy. The juices are great. I should've taken some to go. The rice and beans with chicken were a hit as well. Glad to find a bit of home here. They also have a market of food and goodies to buy right next to the restaurant. This is definitely a little gem. Check them out.

The African pate tastes very similar to an alcapurria. A fritter stuffed with meat and fried. One man served us and we had to wait for him to clean up before ordering. Thankfully I ordered Yelp since it was a bit of a big order, unfortunately I never received a confirmation order, but I just seen our food sitting at the restaurant and asked if it was mine. It was....so we didn't have a long wait time, however the food had gotten cold. I tried to be strategic and ordered for 1:30, since my drive was 30 mins but it was still cold. Thankfully there were pates and sambusas in the hot case still warm, so we got those hot and fresh. The ambiance was a little lack luster. Not much decorum or music, but there is a smaller store on the other side of the restaurant. I didn't get a chance to check it out but next time. If it's two things you remember to try it's the Sorrel (Hibiscus) Juice and the Somali fish Sambusas. I would drive back for those two things alone. The sorrel juice is so flavorful and spicy from the ginger. Those two menu items alone are a 15/15

Red flag number one. I headed to the back where the "restaurant" part was, and the vibe was off. Everyone in the kitchen was just sitting there, stone-faced, staring at me like I'd wandered into a secret society meeting. My order was the only one, yet they still made me show proof on my phone to confirm it was me. Weird. Despite the strange energy, I decided to give it a shot--mainly because it looked like someone's Jamaican grandma had made the food, and who's saying no to that? When I got home, though, the food was... fine. Not great, not terrible, just aggressively average. The chicken was okay but obviously had been sitting under heat lamps or in a warmer for hours without being stirred or loved. The rice? Mid. The cabbage? Also mid. It's the kind of place where you can tell the food's only as good as how much effort the cooks feel like putting in that day. Some days it's probably amazing; other days, it's got the potential to send you sprinting to the bathroom. So, would I go back? Maybe. But only if I'm feeling adventurous--and not wearing white pants.
