Beef roll

Quick, tasty, and friendly dumpling spot. The place recently opened in the old 5 Guys location and it was surprisingly pleasant. I know it's a faux pas, but I didn't order dumplings... the Dan Dan Noodles and Beef Roll called to me. Seating was plentiful and location was cute. Food came out quickly. Beef roll was delicious, never had one before, but was like an evolution of an egg roll. Crispy and tasty. The Dan Dan noodles weren't the best I've ever had flavor wise, but still hit the spot. Overall, really enjoyed my visit, and will definitely plot a return trip. Have to try some dumplings.

Inside the awesome Orange Chicken. Large fresh cut chunks of white meat that were moist and delicate.

Absolutely excellent Chinese food! In fact I believe it's really Taiwanese food. The Prime Beef Chow Mein was some of the best I've had. Saucy and flavorful. Tender thin shredded beef. Seemingly homemade noodles. The Orange Chicken was also some of the best I've had. Large fresh cut chunks that were moist and delicate. It seemed like white meat. The Juicy Pork Dumplings (Xiao Long Bao - XLB) were awesome with a lot of broth inside. Put the whole thing in your mouth because it will squirt juice if you just try to take a bite. But let them cool down first! I use a chopstick to poke a little vent hole in the top of each dumpling. They have a decent beer list including Asian beers and even Blue Moon. They don't serve wine but you can bring your own bottle for a $10 corkage fee. Great service and ambiance.

Nice location and glad to have one in OC. We waited about 5 minutes on a Saturday night, not a small or too large restaurant. I felt the menu was less than others but that could be my imagination. Dumplings were good but they forgot to provide the ginger and we were too lazy to ask. Fried rice was cooked well and so was the spare ribs. Plenty of parking too.

We went on a very blistering hot Saturday night and the place was packed. The AC was working thank God! Everything came out hot fresh and tasty. There was lots of staff and they were all very helpful and friendly. Really enjoyed our experience. The building had very minor changes from when I twas Dave's hot Chicken- but it looks great! Cozy and busy! Can't wait to go back and try more items on the menu. We enjoyed spicy wontons, BBQ pork buns, pork, shrimp dumpling and the chicken chow main. All came out piping hot!

Ok, so, just visited the new Juicy Dumpling Factory in Costa Mesa in the Target shopping center, near the 405, on Harbor Blvd. Just opened in the past couple weeks (Oct 25/26). I have some thoughts, First thought is tasty and not bad, but very expensive for what you get. Granted this isn't 2019, when Chinese food was still relatively inexpensive, and these noodle/dumpling places see what Din Tai Fung is charging, and say hey, why not, why shouldn't we charge these prices too. This is upsetting. I walked in at around 6:30pm on a Monday, the place was half filled but there were couples/families seated and more trickling in while I was there. Another reviewer mentioned that i was warm, and it was, maybe to be expected on an abnormally hot as heck southern California day when it reached 105 outside, but if I were eating in, it probably would have annoyed me. I went to counter and ordered a Beef Roll ($14.99), and a stir fry dish Broccoli with Prime Beef ($17.49), and for what you get it's very expensive. The good thing I can say is that both are tasty, I used to travel all the way down to 101 Noodle Express to get my Beef Roll before it changed hands then shut down, and I'm always trying Beef Roll's at other chinese places when I see them on the menu. Tried Uncle Chen's last week, didn't like it. This Beef Roll I liked, it was just so small (16oz) cut into 6 pieces, longer in 8 pieces I would have felt better about the 15 bucks. The Broccoli with Prime Beef (17 oz) was interesting in that the "prime beef" seems to be shaved meat which crinkles up in the sir fry? process. The dish isn't overwhemlingly huge pices of Broccoli which the steam tray buffet places do for cost cutting, they were trimmed smallish pieces, with enough of the shaved stir fried beef to make me feel alright about this dish, but at $17.50 still wildly expensive for chinese takeout. Or I'm just old and the world is passing me by, and this is how much things cost now. I started some white rice in the rice cooker before I left to pick up the food, and had half of each dish with white rice tonight for dinner, and it was tasty and good. Without the rice I don't think half of each dish would have been enough. Really wanted to try the Dry Fried String Beans, but at $18 it'll be a cold day in hell. I might come back for the Beef Roll, or some night if I had heavy pockets and wanted to treat myself.

Garlic noodles, crispy shrimp pork & chive, pork juicy dumplings (xiao long bao), spicy pork dumplings, beef roll

Went on open day and was super impressed. Great friendly service. Our favorites were the spicy pork dumplings and garlic noodles.

I actually ended up coming here twice in one week, which says a lot about who much I enjoyed the food! The restaurant is located inside the mall and has plenty of seating. I would still recommend making a reservation during busier hours to secure a table. Both times I visited, the servers were really friendly and attentive, and the food came out fairly quickly! One thing worth mentioning is that the portions are HUGE! Most of the dishes are definitely shareable, which. makes this a great spot to come with a group so you can order a variety of things and try a little bit of everything. Items I've ordered: - Lychee Lemonade (this one is refillable): Really refreshing and had a nice fruity flavor, it is a little sweeter than I typically prefer but still really good - Mushroom & Steak Fried Rice: This dish was so good! I loved the combination of the savory steak and mushrooms. Everything worked really well together and it was such a satisfying dish. The portions were generous so I had leftovers - Appetizers: We also ordered quite a bit of appetizers to share but my favorite was definitely the calamari! The pieces were on the smaller size but what they lacked in size, they. made up for in flavor and quality. I loved pairing it with the sauce they provided which brought everything together. I also ordered the chicken wings, corn ribs and fries. - Saltado Filet Mignon: This was absolutely delicious and probably my favorite entree between both visits! I loved that you could choose how you want your steak cooked. I ordered mine in medium and it turned out great! The dish came with both rice and seasoned fries, making it incredibly hearty and satisfying meal. I really enjoyed the combination of flavors. Again, portion is very generous so it's a great option to share. They also came with tomatos and onions. Pro tip: they have listerine in the bathroom so if you do get those garlic noodles or the onions, pop in there after the meal! Overall great spot if you enjoy fusion cuisine or looking for great cocktails/mocktails to try.

The Northeast rice wrap is huge and filling, the iron-plate fried instant noodles are not oily or mushy and come with egg and luncheon meat, and the shredded chicken pairs well with rice. The New Orleans-style wings are juicy and well-seasoned without being too salty. Delivery from this place is already a solid 10/10, but the food definitely tastes even better dining in! The portion of soup itself was fairly generous, but the broth was very mild and neutral. It wasn't unpleasant or bad tasting--it simply lacked the depth and richness I was expecting from a house-special beef noodle soup. My biggest issue was the beef. The menu describes the dish as coming with hefty pieces of premium braised beef shank, but my bowl had only about 3-4 relatively thin slices. For the size of the bowl, the beef-to-noodle-and-broth ratio felt quite low. The beef I did receive was also slightly below average in quality. At $15.99, I don't think the price itself is unreasonable for a beef noodle soup. However, considering the small amount of beef and the overall quality and flavor of the dish I received, I didn't feel it offered particularly good value. To be fair, nothing about the food was terrible. The portion was a decent size and the soup was completely edible. It was simply very average and didn't deliver what I personally expect from something presented as the restaurant's House Special. This review is based only on the food I received. I also had a significant delivery delay through DoorDash, but I consider that a separate DoorDash issue and did not factor it into my assessment of the restaurant.

The lunch set seemed like such a good idea with the choice of appetizer, entree, and dessert. For four of us, we got two lunch sets and two more pastas. We also got the garlic parmesan fries which was as expected, nice and crispy with grated parmesan on top. We got the miso bacon carbonara which had thick pieces of bacon and heavy creamy and flavorful with slightly spicy kick in the carbonara sauce. The cavatelli had a great depth of flavor without being overpowering from the mushroom sauce. The soy garlic noodles tasted pretty clean without being overly greasy with a slight kick as well from the chili crunch. We all ended with the strawberry lychee ice cream made in house that came with fruit pieces of both lychee and strawberry on the bottom. The kitchen at ANQI really knows how to prepare everything excellently and I don't know anything about their sourcing but my guess from the quality of meat and vegetables is that sourcing is a very high priority with the chef. Find restaurants worldwide are now reporting the chef spends 50% or more of his or her time on farms and ranches where their product is produced. My guess is that this is true of ANQI as well. The ambiance of ANQI is well-managed. It's very quiet and the only thing that challenged this statement was the music which was too loud and not a calming selection. I have noticed lately that chef's more and more get involved in things like music selection. The problem with that is they don't readily understand the tastes of their guest audience. Their thought process generally goes more toward what they want their staff and kitchen to hear - something that moves and motivates them to action. Not a good thought process for music selection. You're going to spend at least $150 - 250 for lunch for 2. So you should expect the best especially if you plan to return frequently. My daughter is adventurous and loves trying different kinds of food. I made reservations a month in advance for a party of 5. 2 adults, 13, 10 and 7yo. We came here on August 2nd. Their brunch is only available the first Sunday of the month. First of all, it's been very warm in orange county and we noticed that it was warm in the restaurant. Stuffy and you can barely feel the air conditioning. They only had lamb that day as their protein option. They ran out towards the middle of our meal, and they had to cook up some steak (flank?). You get one non-alcoholic drink ticket. There were about 5 different options and my husband and I saved our tickets for the kids so they can try a few more since we were limited to one ticket each. A few other options they had included chicken pho (basic and very little flavor), steamed sui mai (meat dumplings) that tasted like it was frozen and over cooked, fried egg (literally just that), spring roll, fried wontons, and one chocolate dessert. Remember this is an AYCE brunch! I was floored. Of course I spoke to the manager after dinner and he gave me the most annoyed and disgusted look. He was a tall, Asian man that looked like he was in his late 20s. I saw an older Caucasian man standing next to him and he looked like he could have been the owner or someone in charge, so I asked and sure enough he was the owner. He was kind and attentive the entire time. But I basically told the owner that I didn't like the way the manager side eyed me and frowned as soon as I said I'd like to speak to the manager. In any case, I told them everything that I had mentioned here. The owner took down my email address and phone number and offered to invite us back another time. I was optimistic that maybe they would send me an email to apologize and to invite us to come back. I was tempted to write this review immediately after I left but I thought I would just sit on it. I figured maybe they would be nice and try to make things right. A week later... no email or call. It's been over a month and nothing. Why bother take down my information if you're not going to do anything about it? We walked out paying almost $400 for a terrible and grossly expensive meal and we all left hungry and unhappy. My husband I and haven't been here since the AnQi's famous garlic noodles days so it's been at least 10 years. We thought we'd come back and check out the brunch with our kids. Unimpressed.
