Can't say enough good things about Daily Juice. I am a hippie Austin native of 78704 so I've been going there since 2003 when it opened I was a little flower child (11 years old, born of hippie parents, and ascribed to the yogi-keep-austin-weird-localvore-world peace philosophies...and still do)...This small local joint is great i always loved it and y'all know kids tend to be picky but they manage to make the healthiest things delicious. Don't be afraid to be adventurous (afterall love is greater than fear and it's all love here! love love love), it'll be yummy. If you prefer sweet or sour or spicy or bitter just let them know, they're great about recommending...always friendly staff, if they ever seem standoffish just talk to them and they'll light up (ever worked a tiny hut in hot weather that tends to get packed?) they probably needed a second to breathe, juicing for hundreds a day is a little tough yet they are sweet, fast, genuine, and more than willing to help with questions or anything and know their stuff... must have been there more than 100 times and always great. If you ask nicely and show gratitude they'll let you sit on the roof. 15% discount if you ride your bicycle or other non-gas-power like scooter (no hybrids don't count LOL). Also if you opted to take the bus and walked a long way tell them and they'll usually give the discount. Get the juice card it's free just ask, after 9 punches (1 per drink) you get $5 off any drink. I love the Barton Springs...both the place and the drink. Some funny creative names for their drinks. And you can always mix and match in the craziest combinations don't you worry nobody is going to look at you weird this is a hippie weird place :) i've tried everything. VEGAN ICE CREAM NO SOY! (Nada Moo, which is locally made, you can get at Wheatsville, sometimes they have it at DJ sometimes they don't as their foods fluctuate, it's a juice and smoothie place than food place but when they have the raw foods its awesome, or like...hemp oil, i've gotten raw hemp oil, raw coconut oil to take home, goji berries, kombucha, raw cocao coconut pudding) EVERYTHING IS SOY-FREE GlUTEN-FREE SUGAR FREE 100% VEGAN. NOTHING IS GMO AND 90% PLUS IS LOCAL AND ORGANIC...great selection of super foods too and support a lot of local people growing/making such foods so start something up and sell to them :) better about local than whole foods by far. DO NOT DRIVE IT WILL DRIVE YOU CRAZY because of lack of parking...not their fault, when they started Austin area was HALF the population it is now as of 2012 (crazy, i know, yet true)....If you are going to/coming from Zilker, Barton Springs pool, greenbelt, go for it. they usually have watermelon juice and can crack a coconut for you to have coconut juice too...so good when you are gasping for hydration. and vegan cookies. i can't believe the guy who said to go to whole foods instead for the parking...dude support the locals and the whole foods juice sucks in comparison and is pricier...you can park up the street and ok so you have to WALK a little, you'll live, LOL! And it really IS that expensive for that location even with a small place, my mom has been in Austin real estate since 1978...blame the yuppies who move here not daily juice). If you get the things with more greens and superfoods like acai or spirulina (by the way i didn't use to think i liked kale...depth charge, barton springs, and their others changed that)...you'll feel like you had a whole meal it's amazing :) complaining about prices is like...if you had dinner elsewhere...you'd pay more plus tips and not organic. Other small local businesses in the area are cool about letting you bring in your juice if you want "solid food" or to catch music like i've done it at Shadygrove, Flipnotics (which has wi-fi, daily juice doesn't) to see shows (convenient, right next door) and Chuy's (across the street) and they're like whatever...it is laid-back 78704 austin. But I can never eat anything at Chuy's afterwards i feel like "whoa i got all my nutrition at daily juice, not hungry"...great if you wanna lose weight and get healthier, cut down on junk, good for friends, solo, with family...there's stuff that tastes like junk food but is good for you, sometimes there are DJ dance parties, the guys who started this place are super nice and unafraid to show their political and other beliefs like in compassion and after a kid was murdered by the cops they put out a sign about it...they aren't afraid at all. Love is greater than fear as one of their signs says :) and they were into this before it was cool because thats been their philosophy (so NOT hipster haha). BIODEGRADABLE CUPS. 7:30am-7:30pm. No coffee but yerba mate shots and more for energy just ask :) Got my friend off her coffee addiction. Might have to sit outside on the grass so not for the "EW OUTSIDE ITS HOT UGH MY CLOTHES GOT DIRT ON THEM" snobs, it's for the Austin-outdoors-hippie-nature-lovers. Lovers. Love. read more
