After an intense workout, I was just craving a Juice it Up smoothie. As I approached the door an employee closed it and turned off the open sign. As I questioned the hours at which this location was open, I looked at the hours sign and it said that they were open until 7 PM tonight, half an hour later than when I arrived. They both shook their head when I pointed at my watch, gesturing that they are closing before I could give them my order, which would have taken them at most three minutes to fulfill. Walked in this morning and I was overwhelmed by the smell of incense. Two boys working, One in the back and one up front. I assumed someone was smoking pot in the back hence the incense, I often see the employees smoking pot in the parking lot. I ordered an açaí bowl. I tasted terrible and was hardly blended. There are other smoothie places I can attend. I think the only thing that keep me them in business are the high school kids. It has gone downhill. If I were the owner I would be extremely disappointed. Maybe the owner should interview these people themselves. read more

Tried to order a juice with spinach and kale and was told that they ran out of greens. How does the juice shop run out of greens? That is the equivalent of going to a steakhouse and them telling you they have no steak. I then asked them to pour the little bit that was extra in my order in a small cup for my son and the kid said, "we don't do that anymore." Just to be clear, you run out of your product, but you can't give me the extra three sips of juice? Really good customer service. The atmosphere at the Juice It Up in San Clemente is phenomenal and you can tell that the staff truly love what they do! "Fresh" juices got me sick twice last week. I watched them put the apples in the juicer and they were going brown. I do not know if the food is old or just not properly washed, but the whole drink tasted like old carrots. I never realized how bad the juice was until I went to Nektar and discovered what fresh juice is supposed to taste like. Besides that, the employees are always great, maybe a meeting on keeping the food fresh would benefit the store. read more
