Love love this gem of a wine store. Pleasant Decor , , fabulous wines to choose from but that's where it stops. Unfortunately management lacks skills in who they hire. The young woman who works there is beyond a description of sour puss. No smile, no eye contact, very flat and non descriptive when asked about wines. Thought it was just a bad fay( we all have them) but seriously, it's all the time and I am a frequent customer. Get an attitude adjustment . It is a job where you have to interact with people. Put a semi smile on, paste it there and remember your working with c-u-s-t-o-m-e-r-s otherwise your desk job is calling . Unpleasant to give over my money to her. Jhonny is great though. Maybe I'll just go on days she is not there. Too dramatic ...yes ( one of those days) but friendly service does make a difference when your a business is selling a product to several Types of people. read more

Good selection of moderately priced wines in Windsor Terrace. I've been very pleased with the wines I've gotten here. Love that they have a punch card--after 10 purchases, the 11th bottle is only a dollar! I also like how they put information about food pairings, etc. on most of the wines that are displayed. read more

While I like this place and the staff is knowledgeable, it is a bit overpriced. There was a $10 price difference on a bottle I bought elsewhere, which is a lot. So it's good for last minute impulse buys on the way to a friend's or special recommendations, but if you can plan ahead, I'd say go elsewhere. read more

This is a fantastic neighborhood wine store. They have a great selection of quality, affordable wines. I just moved to the area. Wasn't there for longer than 1 minute before Lylah said hello and asked us if we needed assistance. They were out of the wine that we wanted, but she offered suggestions and alternatives and she couldn't have been more professional and kind about it. When we first started going to the Juice Box, we were disappointed because they didn't have the wine we used to prefer to buy. However, after a bit of experimentation, we have found a lot more interesting and tasty wines from their eclectic selection. It's a small store, so do not go here for tried and true labels you might find in larger wine stores. read more

I wish I could simultaneously give this place 3 stars and 5 stars. 5 stars: If you want to sample 17 different kinds of local whiskey, you will find them here. They will be delicious. You might be embarrassed by how often you return to try new local whiskeys and a variety of uniquely flavored bitters (chocolate bitters? sign me up!). 3 stars: If you want to mix your local whiskey in a classic cocktail -- say, a Manhattan or a Boulavardier -- you will need classic ingredients like sweet vermouth, Campari, and angostura bitters. Sometimes you will find these ingredients, but more often than not the Juice Box will be sold out for weeks or even months. You will stare longingly at the gap on the shelf where Campari should be, and wonder what asshole needs a giant bottle of blackberry liquor. read more

Stopped here for a bottle of wine and was surprised at the vast selection. The owner was really nice and helped me pick out some wine. They had a selection of liquor too, but it was a little on the small side. Wine seems to be their thing. read more

I live in Park Slope, but I've been visiting various friends in Windsor Terrace. Rather than lug a bottle of wine from here to there (ugh! They weigh like 3/4ths of a kilogram!) I have been swinging by this place. You know what, I like it here. The wines are reasonably priced & nicely laid out. The decor is nice, which you might not think amounts to much...but try buying wine in an ugly place. It just isn't the same! Second the previous one-star commenter-- the staff are strangely rude here, in what would be an otherwise pleasant shop. Wine selection is solid and varied, although relatively expensive and limited given the size of the store. Would probably frequent this boutique were it not for the unfriendly service. read more

Shame about Juicebox - it really does have a captive audience as there's nothing else in the neighborhood. Selection of wines is boring, the staff vary sometimes super helpful other times downright rude- they really favor people who go in often. I live nearby and I used to go in all the time but the wine selection hasn't really changed in years so I tend to buy wine elsewhere on my way home from work. You with the beard: try to stop looking cool and offer help to people who aren't your friends and that would be a start. read more

I live in the neighborhood and they favor only hi-end customers. Palo Viejo Rum at $17 for a FIFTH is not neighborly - nor are 'nips' that starts at $3.99 - unbelievable - 50ml of Early Times at $3.99!! They could easily carry some regular liquors at competitive prices but they won't -- let the working man shop somewhere else - we don't want him!!! read more

I am so sad because this has been my favorite neighborhood wine shop since they opened their doors. I went in to purchase a lot of wine for a party and was given specific instructions to buy 3-4 bottles of Rose. When I didn't see any on the shelves, I asked the guy working and he said, it should be on that shelf. I went and looked, there was none, so I asked again. He said it was in the boxes. I asked if I should look in the boxes and he said, there's some cold in the fridge and basically threw 4 bottles on the counter with a dismissive hand gesture. I was scared to ask how much they cost or which he recommended so I just bought over $80 worth of white and red wines and went somewhere else to buy Rose. When I asked how the Bandit Brand boxed Pinot Grigio was, he said well it's Pino Grigio so it's flavorless. WTF??? He was so rude and didn't even say thank you when I made my large purchase. Granted he seemed really stressed out but that is no way to treat a customer. After I redeem my free bottle from my punch card I am taking my business elsewhere - BYE FELICIA DON'T NEED YA read more

Can you give a wine/liquor store more than five stars? Juicebox has a very eclectic but diverse selection - with staff capable of steering you toward the right wine (in the right price range). I've never been disappointed by a recommendation from Jeremiah and the staff, and I highly recommend the local selections of liquor. The only downside of Juice Box is that it is perennially crowded - but I guess that's the downside of any excellent establishment. read more

Employees are very helpful and know their wines without sounding pretentious. (That's hard to pull off) They have a GREAT selection and are always helpful with picking out a wine. Everyone that works there is super cool and smart. The wines have many price ranges. If you want a great bottle of wine for a family party or a bottle for pizza on week night, they will steer you right. They have a punch card that gives a free bottle after 12. I like their attitude on kids, dogs and booze. Perfect local wine shop. They also have a great selection of whiskies, rum and such. Perfect little shop and their windows are beautiful! Saks Fifth Avenue would be impressed! The shop is pretty and handles customers beautifully. read more

The wife and I both love this place. While the selection might be not be huge every wine here is a winner (no matter the price), they have a nice balance between old stalwarts and new arrivals, and I feel they charge a couple bucks less on average than Windsor Wines up on PPW for the same quality. Throw in a nice, knowledgeable staff with a great ongoing promotion (you get a little punch card and after 16 bottles you can buy one for a buck) and you have a really great addition to the neighborhood. Been living in Windsor Terrace a long time and it's amazing that a purchase along Prospect Avenue on the way home from work is now a must! read more

I actually like the Juice box. It reminds me of shopping for records in Bleeker Bobs. Recordrs For those that don't remember Bleeker Bobs watch the movie High Fidelity same thing. The same snob attitude. I don't drink but occasionally stop there to get things for my wife When we celebrate special occasions I buy my wife a bottle of veuve clicquot. Of course the Juice Box does not stock it. They offer something "better". My wife wanted a pint of Smirnoff vodka. An acceptable Vodka if you are going to mix it. No need to go any higher than that. Their response "We do not sell pints of Vodka". They do sell airplane size bottles of obscure Vodka though. My wife will occasionally ask for a recommendation on a reasonably priced bottle of wine and more often than not she is disappointed. I will continue to go into this store just to take the piss out of them, If I actually need somthing will stop on Prosect Park West where they sel Veuve, Pints of Smairnoff and a fine selection of wine w/o the attidude. read more
