Never, ever, ever anything but perfection at Judy's. The atmosphere alone is worth the visit but then pile on exceptional service and a meal beyond compare. Perfect night out with my mom, my uncle Ken and his amazing new wife Kathleen, and of course my most beautiful wife Michelle. To everyone at Judy's, thank you so much for a job well do

Dinner for work. The drinks were strong!! Bathroom is all the way downstairs when you walk in. We had a limited menu since it was a group dinner. The bread was good. The scallops were gritty and the filet was ok. For dessert I had the key lime pie. I think it had been sitting out for awhile because it was falling apart and runny. Parking lot across the street, we took the shuttle from the hotel.

Went to Judy's on a Saturday night and the place was jumping! Seemed like a good sign. Alas, we had a very mixed experience. We parked in a lot across the street which used to be hourly of maybe free but it's $10 now. We used park mobile to pay. We made a reservation for 6 the day before which they did not have but fortunately had a table for us anyway. Bumpy start. The whole dinner experience lasted just under 3 hours and when dinner was served it took almost 5 minutes to get everyone's meals. The meals: 4 out of 6 were excellent. They had a pork chop with cooked peaches which were awesome! We had 2 fillets and one was great but the second was cooked to temp but was a but dry and unseasoned. The veggies on this dish were also unseasoned and undercooked. Most of us had totally seasoned and cooked sides. We got a NY strip that came pre-sliced and it was cooked to temp but it was luke warm. It was the last of 6 dishes to be served, perhaps it sat for some time? We had a veggie lasagna which was not recommended by the server but was very much enjoyed. The service was OK and gratuity of 20% was automatically applied due to being a table of 6. Almost 3 hours is just too long and the food should be served at the same time. I had much higher expectations for Judy's. We're going to give it another try and hope we caught them on an off night.

We really picked the right restaurant. Problem was the menu all looked so good we had to make choices ! Started with the grilled beet napoleon. My wife had the swordfish and I had the filet . Followed up with an awesome piece of cake and great coffee . Our waitress Shannon was awesome all the way . She even gave us a ride to the show we were going to after dinner . That was a true first ! Really solid place in a beautiful old building . Absolutely made the right choice !

Decent, but certainly not a fine dining experience. My experience wasn't great, but my appetizers were good enough that I'd give it another try. Better communication could easily have allowed many of the issues to be overlooked. First, the good: the appetizers I had were tasty. The vibe was very cute. The bad: I was sat at 5:40 on a Saturday, and needed to leave by 7 to get to the Santander Performing Arts Center. I ordered appetizers and a salad. I asked if the protein on one of the salads could be switched, she told me she'd find out but asked me for a back up order. She never told me the original salad I asked about was out of stock, just input my backup order with no communication. However, that wouldn't end up mattering. I had the dates which were PHENOMENAL! My fried green tomatoes were good, but they were fairly cold, and the lettuce they were topped with was frozen. I was stuffed after the apps and asked the server if I could cancel my salad. She told me it had already been prepared. 20 minutes later the salad I couldn't cancel because it was already prepared still hadn't arrived (I also was without a drink for that time, and was never given a chance to order another). I flagged down a woman who appeared to be a manager and said I needed to close out. I never saw her again. My server finally went by and I said I needed to leave. She didn't respond to me, presumably because she was slammed but it was unbelievably off-putting. I understand busy, but a sentence explaining what you're doing (which I didn't get from her or the "manager") would have made a huge difference. They took the salad (and an espresso I'd ordered that didn't arrive) off my bill. I would have appreciated them discounting a glass of wine or something n for the inconvenience, but I didn't even get a verbal apology. I'd give it another try, but this experience was not good.

That Hollandaise! I…read morerecently visited Wyomissing Restaurant and Bakery with two companions, and we had a wonderful experience! The atmosphere is a bit more upscale than your average diner--everything was impeccably clean, and the ambiance was very pleasant. My friends both opted for the "All You Can Eat Buffet," which I understand is what this place is famous for (especially on weekends!). Their plates were packed, and the fact that they both went back for seconds speaks for itself--they loved it. I went with the Norway Benedict, and I was honestly blown away. It featured two perfectly poached eggs and smoked salmon on English muffins with a very generous serving of Hollandaise sauce, accompanied by a side of home-fried potatoes. The presentation was beautiful, the taste was excellent, and I truly can't think of a single thing that would have improved the dish. Service Highlights: * Attentive Staff: Our server was great--present when we needed drink refills but never intrusive. * Efficiency: They were quick to clear empty plates rather than letting them sit on the table, which we really appreciated. I highly recommend checking this place out if you're in the area. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

The place could've been a little bit more updated, not the best ambience but if you want a good brunch, this is where to come! No four seater booths.

We stopped into Sweet Ride Ice Cream in Reading as the final stop on a date night, and honestly…read more.. it was the perfect way to end the evening. The vibe immediately pulls you in, classic 1950s ice cream parlor energy with a fun, nostalgic feel. One of the employees was even dressed in a white shirt and black bow tie, which totally fit the theme and added to the experience. They have a huge variety of flavors and options, so there's something for everyone. We came specifically for their Valentine's Day ice cream flight, and it did not disappoint. The flight included: * Cupid's Milk & Cookies * Raspberry Cheesecake * Red Velvet * Chocolate Covered Strawberry Every flavor was excellent, but raspberry cheesecake was the standout favorite rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced. We also grabbed a kiddie size of white chocolate cranberry cheesecake, which was absolutely delicious and worth ordering on its own. Because it was freezing out (a rare win), we took advantage of that and grabbed two kiddie sizes to go for my mom, knowing they wouldn't melt on the way home. They also had ice cream pies stocked in the freezer, plus homemade waffle cones and waffle bowls, which smelled incredible. The only downside and this has nothing to do with Sweet Ride themselves was parking. With all the snow piled everywhere, we missed a sign indicating a bus stop zone right in front of the shop and ended up with a $50 parking ticket from the borough. Lesson learned: parking in the area can be tricky, so just be extra mindful of signage, especially in winter. That aside, this was a five-star experience across the board. Fantastic ice cream, fun atmosphere, and a great overall experience. We'll absolutely be back just with better parking awareness next time. Highly recommend if you're anywhere near Reading

Im not kidding there was about 40 flavors. They only charge 6.75 for a flight! We decided to get a flight with Raspberry Cheesecake, Hot Cocoa, Chocolate Marshmallow and Fluffernutter! The taste was incredible! Now what separates this place from the rest? Tons of seating, quick speed of service, the decor in here is incredible, neon signs, and tons of other merch to check out. They sell ice cream and Milkshakes for a year as gifts for others? How cool!

WORK REVIEW: poor leadership and HR enablement created a dysfunctional work…read more * this is my opinion based on my experience working there* I was the assistant manager at Cafe Sweet Street for a little less than a year. I have a lot of experience in management in another industry but I was excited to get this role as I've always wanted to get into food. Upon starting, my experience was great. It's a fairly easy job and you also get a free meal each shift. That being said, when I was told about all the turnover they experienced - I was confused. I was primarily tasked with running the front of house. The General manager(GM) was also the head chef and primarily managed the kitchen staff. During my first few weeks there, the front of house girls trained me on what to do and it became clear very quickly, that no one had properly trained them. There were no standard expectations set for cleanliness, how food or drinks should be made, and the girls just kind of did whatever they wanted. I quickly took action to set expectations, improve customer service, re-train the girls on cleanliness issues and how to operate the coffee bar. Over the course of my year there, it became very clear to me that the GM was a primary issue. He was rarely present in the cafe, did not take the time to train his people or set expectations, yet, GM would seemingly get upset when things were not done to his liking. Other issues that I observed goes as follows: GM would be passive or speak condescendingly to the girls, make it difficult for more than one person to call off at a time, would not help the FOH staff out if they needed it, and would never take responsibility/accountability when he was wrong. GM would react unprofessional when a pregnant team member started to have a lot of appointments because it would mess up the schedule. Due to frequent call offs, there were many times where I had to close kitchen and FOH alone because GM could not be bothered to stay beyond his scheduled time. It was a running joke throughout all of Sweet Street that he was an asshole. And if you did not know, he is also related to the owners.. which he would often complain about the owner and how she was extremely difficult. Anyways, when I went to finally address these issues with him, he wanted to have a meeting with HR. When we had that meeting, it was a "surprise review" for me rather than a conversation to address some of my concerns as we had previously agreed on. GM took this opportunity to turn the issues on me and made it seem like I was the one who was not doing my job. Mind you, I did not have a single write up my whole time there. As a result of this "meeting" turned ambush, I decided to resign right then and there. When I finally got to addressing my issues, the head of HR (HHR) all of Sweet Street decided to dismiss all of them, gaslight me and continued to enable GM by avoiding any form of accountability. I want to make this abundantly clear: HHR only seems to care about protecting Sweet Street the company, not the employees. I have visited the cafe a few times since resigning because I still have old co-workers there who I visit and the food is decent. Well, my last time visiting the cafe The HHR approached me and asked to speak with me. When getting to her office, she very rudely flooded me with questions, one of which was "why would you ever come back to the cafe?"(mind you, I am a customer who has returned to the cafe several times to eat since resigning). When I told her that I still have old co-workers here and do not mind supporting the cafe by eating here, I was told "we don't need your support" and that I am not welcome here. This is both funny and ironic because the cafe does not seem to be receiving a lot of business most of the time and would more than likely benefit from my support. I suppose what I had addressed from the "meeting turned ambush" left an impression. Anyways, i will not be going back but this is an FYI to anyone applying. I have even heard that they already turned around a couple more people.
